I feel so incredibly lucky to have the team at Southpointe taking care of my fur babies. We first met Dr. Ball and Dr. James nearly 15 years ago at another clinic, and followed them as soon as they opened their own. They are some of the most caring and conscientious women I have ever met. They make sure you have all the information you need to make informed decisions about your pet's health and welfare. Over the years, they have brought other members onto their veterinary team, and they have done such an amazing job at finding people who care as much as they do. Dr. Eslinger and Dr. Sinclair take as much care as Dr. Ball and Dr. James to treat every animal (and their people) with respect. I like how friendly the Staff is here, and how well they take care of my dog. My breeder comes here, and I do now since my dog is from her litter. I must say that I am always impressed with the staff, service and care at Southpoint Pet Hospital. Dr. Alyssa, Dr. Stephanie , Dr. Mark, Dr. Wendy and the whole Southpoint team and staff are amazing people who truly care for animals and it shows. I've been taking my now 18 year old Shih Tzu there for years and I always left feeling that my dog had the best care. Over the years I've recommended this Vet to numerous family and friends and they've all had the best experience and felt that the care their animal received was excellent. They are always patient and give you all the information required to make a decision on care of your animal. Last year sadly we had to say goodbye to one of our family pets and Dr. Alyssa and the whole Southpoint team made the unbelievably heartbreaking situation easier for us with the care and compassion they showed our dog as well as us. We got a rescue dog 6 months ago and he has been in several times. They've really put a lot of care into Buddy's needs and give follow up calls to make sure everything was smooth going forward. I've been to two other places with past pets but think this will be my new preferred location. Read Less

Dr. Wendy James is the absolute best veterinarian that I have ever known. She knows everything about my dog and cat, she never needs a reminder. My pets are rescues and my dog is so timid, but he loves it there, and no matter what she does, he still loves a visit with Dr. Wendy. The support staff is so compassionate and helpful. DR. STEPHANIE BALL is AMAZING!! we had moved from NB and had a hard time finding a vet for our dane/pit mix. One night our dog had an allergic reaction and took him into emergency. There is where we met Dr. Ball. She went above and beyond and he followed her to her clinic at south pointe off of 130th! i booked an appointment for my dog on friday.. my dog have allargies and she is 5 years old. i requested the same medication for her that helped her last year. they waited for Wedsnday to cancel my appointment and refues to treat my dog. i will not recomend this clinic to anyone. they simply don't care about animels that need help. their exuse was. "the doctor don't feel like she good enough for my dog she is not a specialist yet". Read Less

What a great experience! Our 8 year old Boston Terrier had snagged his dew claw, leaving the nail hanging and bleeding. I called around Saturday morning as our Vet was closed. I was given the run around by several clinics in the south. When I called South Point Pet Hospital I was greeted by Taylor who was very nice to deal with. She answered my questions over the phone and even suggested I come right in so the vet can have a look at it. She greeted me upon my arrival and took Banks to the back. 5 'mins later, Taylor returned with Banks who was all fixed up and bandaged. The best part, I was expecting this trip to cost over $200 based on talking to other clinics earlier that morning. Nope, $16 is all they charged me! Amazing! I highly recommend taking your pet to South Point Pet Hospital! We will be switching from our current vet clinic, thanks to Taylor and the great staff! Read Less

Amazing staff , easy transition, they made a schedule that worked for us and the number one priority was our puppy. The vet will explain everything you need to know about your new family member. I started taking my Pomeranian here out of convenience when I moved to the area but didn't develop much of a relationship at first. He's a difficult little guy and hasn't always been popular. As of recent we started seeing Dr Wendy as he has some skin issues come up. She (and staff) are very wonderful and patient ! They seem to truly care, following up and checking in on his progress. Not Impressed!!!Brought my dog in on Thursday the 19th and while i was there i was trying to explaining what happened to my dog.I got cut off several times and the lady's mind was somewhere else.Iwas reluctant to give her Bo since she was in a hurry to do something else.Took the bandage off Sunday and the cut was not healed.took him back today and same crappy customer service.I told her that there is several vets between me and them.She didn't seem to care.Normally i have great service but not this time. If you see the right vet, you will have a great experience.Dr. Ball and Dr. James are absolutely fantastic. Very gentle and sweet to both of my dogs. I drive from the far NW to this clinic because the quality of service I have received from these two vets.I immediately regretted bringing my dogs to Dr. Eslinger. She traumatized my dog from a nail trim so bad, that he cowered and peed in fear the next time we visited the vet. She muzzled him, slammed and pinned him down - after being told he had a fear of strangers touching his paws. Pinning a fearful dog. How is that a good idea?I will continue to go to this vet office as long as we get to see Dr Ball or James. Read Less

Well I finally took the plunge and took my handsome little cat for his neutering appointment.  With the help of Pound Rescue services, I was referred to the expertise of the folks at Southpoint.I don't especially like driving any of the bigger highways around Calgary unfortunately you can only take Highway 2 SE to get to this location.  Luckily for me the appointment was very early in the morning so there wasn't much traffic; it is quite far off so make sure you have given yourself some time to get there.The place is surprisingly spacious and very natural in decor, the ceiling are very high and the waiting area is bright, clean and spacious.   I had to weigh my fine fellow as two other store cats watched from the sidelines.  I love when pet establishments have animals roaming freely; they are usually very chill as well because I am assuming they are getting the best of pet care.The one girl who was dealing with me was a little short in her answers and her information which was so odd, however the other people working at the hospital were very kind and pleasant.  The same girl called me later to tell me he was ready and again she was really curt so I figure it is just her personality.Well my critter was ready as notified, a little shaken up but healthy and ready for a huge nap. Southpoint basically is a great choice for neutering and spading and has one of the lowest rates in Calgary. Read Less
