Animal Clinic West is the best! I have been a client for over 30 years and 3 dogs. They recently caught a huge mass attached my to little guys spleen in a routine visit. Dr. Cyfra and his team were extremely professional and compassionate in helping me make decisions regarding surgery. Pre and post op care was amazing. I highly recommend for all animal care.

First, let me say that I’m a new puppy parent and my anxiety about taking quality care of him is dialed up to say the least. ACW was recommended to me by a friend and I couldn’t be happier with the care my Kevin (and I) receive. Dr. Blessing and Dr. Harper have been so patient and good to us. My Kevin is a lemon (but he’s my lemon!) and has been sick since the day I brought him home. The clinic is very responsive to my calls and emails, and trust me, there are a lot of them. They have taken the time to go over how I should care for him, everything from how to trim his nails, clean his ears, to evaluating his diet. They really do care. The vets are honest with me about Kevin’s situation, never telling me what I should do, but giving me the options and being supportive. I have never been made to feel rushed, ignorant or judged. I couldn’t ask for a better clinic. The vets and staff are top-notch.

AMAZING staff!!! We’ve been members of the Animal Clinic West family for about five years and had two dogs and a cat come here for care; they are the best! All the staff seems to know who our fur babies are the second we call in and no matter who looked after them last, they all ask about how the recovery is going from out last visit. Our main Dr. is Dr. Jodie Harbour and she has to be the most kind, patient and knowledgeable person in existence. She always takes the time to ensure we understand various options for care even when I stupidly ask her to clarify stuff numerous times. Our first dog was fear reactive and very difficult for strangers to care for but the staff always took the time to work with us and ensure he got the care he needed and mad ether extra effort to try to book him in at times that would be the least stressful for all involved. When we lost him unexpectedly, we were out of town and the clinic (led by Kyle and Dr Habour) took him in until we were back, offered us the opportunity to say goodbye and helped us through that difficult time; TOTALLY above and beyond. Our new guys is 1.5, has been coming here since he was a new puppy and is the exact opposite, aggressively friendly. While he LOVES everyone there and gets so excited to see them, he has also been a bit conflicted and timid lately when we take him in as he knows his ears may be getting looked at (he’s prone to ear infections) but again, the staff always goes above and beyond to help us get him through the door and show him a lot of love (I swear we must be responsible for half of their treat budget)! I can’t recommend this place enough, a vet has opened up about a block from our house but we still take the time to drive to this one. On top of the superb care from everyone, they are easy to book an appointment with and even have fair pricing. Sorry this is so long and has a lot of run-ons but I guess I’m just so excited to finally be writing this review-it’s long overdue!

We didn't like the older male vet though. Sorry.
When we had a healthy cat we loved this place, but things went downhill when we bought another (non-healthy) cat.
Our new cat was diagnosed with a disease after several tests. Then our cats were put on special medicated diets which did not fix some additional issues, issues that no matter how many times I brought up were not addressed. Those issues should not be linked to the disease they have. Or at least it was never specifically addressed by the vets.
The final straw for us to no longer go here was because of the increased costs from tests the doctor would do without stating the cost up front (bill shock) and the proposed costs (regular vitamin B shots, raw rabbit diet, etc).
It's a good place, just not for our situation.
ps. Elliott doesn't like this place because they took his balls.

We can't say enough amazing things about Dr Harbour and the team at Animal Clinic West. We first saw her for a puppy wellness exam and she went over a ton of info with us and talked vaccine schedules and nail clipping and answered all of our new puppy parent questions. Then when we had issues with our puppy shortly after bringing her home, Dr Harbour took the time to thoroughly explain all of our options, gave us realistic treatments to get our little puppy feeling better and answered all of our many, many questions. The test results came in on a day she wasn't working and so Dr Cyfra took time out of his day to go over the results with us and provide a plan until we could talk to Dr Harbour the next day. BEYOND happy that we brought our little puppy Stella to Animal Clinic West where she's already been taken such good care of. We've seen other vets for other pets in the past and none have ever been as helpful or as supportive as Dr Harbour and the team at Animal Clinic West. We would absolutely recommend Dr Harbour to anyone in need of an incredibly smart, caring and kind vet.

Wonderful vet office. We got our first puppy and after a few google searches we brought him to Animal West. Small office right off 37th across from Westbrook mall. I'd say the only downside is the parking. No lot, just have to park along 37th. Our vet is so nice and extremely thorough. The office is clean!! And the vet techs are so nice and cheerful. I get email confirmations for appointments which I like. When I have had to call in they are super pleasant on the phone. I'd totally recommend these guys!I don't recall them having grooming services.

I looked around for a new vet after my previous clinic did not deliver, for example they missed things on my oldest dog that this clinic found in 1st checkup!
The vet my dogs see is Dr. Harbour. She is accommodating, clear, concise, knowledgeable and above all does not push products or up sell.
It is refreshing to have vet techs that care and remember names of my dogs. I would recommend this clinic in a heart beat.

Can not even begin to describe the AMAZING service this clinic provides. We recently moved and needed a new vet, they went above and beyond to help us schedule an appointment when we needed it.
The vet did an outstanding job at explaining everything in "non medical" terms to us, cuddled with our dog, took over an hour to talk about all of our concerns (not just medical but also behavioural). The appointment was followed up with a phone call and detailed email with a plan to work on our dogs anxiety, diet, allergies. Our second visit (due to an ear infection) was as good as the first one, both vets really took the time, they showed interest, they did not push for additional expensive services but recommended what they thought was necessary.
I also appreciated the fact that the vets are open to raw diets, most vets I have seen in Calgary do not recommend them and struggle to work with you if your pet is on a raw food diet.

The vets always make you feel like your pets are the cutest things they ever seen (which of course they are), and I am never worried to leave them in their capable hands.

I have been bringing my pets to Animal Clinic West since about 2006 and have never been disappointed. Dr. Cyfra has been wonderful over the years, and Dr. Harbour has been an excellent addition to the team. They both are very knowledgeable, and when needed, give a variety of options for diagnostic procedures and treatments that work for both me and my pets. Though the team of veterinary technicians and doctors have changed since 2006, as is bound to happen over time, the compassionate, positive, and welcoming environment has not. You can tell everybody there loves what they do, and it really shines through in their work.

This is a very user friendly clinic. I had to find a new vet and found this clinic to be very friendly/ down to earth/ easy to talk to and ask questions/ not to mention good with dogs -in my case. In addition, very accommodating. So one of my dogs eats a full box of chocolate on Christmas eve and I call in a panic and they make room for us and handle the situation!
Just an all round dependable clinic. Highly recommend them.

Easily the best vet experience I have ever had. My dog is a 6 year old rescue from Mexico, extremely skittish around strangers, and even worse when it came to going to the vet. I used to have to carry him into any vet office, and it would take a muzzle and at least 3 people to clip his nails (he even had to be put under a few times). The staff at Animal Clinic West are so friendly and knowledgeable and you can tell they absolutely love all animals. They are so patient with Leo, and all visits have been stress free with no anxiety whatsoever - only one person needed for a nail trim! Honestly they are complete miracle workers, no matter where I live in the city I will always take him here.

Animal Clinic West is the best! I have been a client for over 30 years and 3 dogs. They recently caught a huge mass attached my to little guys spleen in a routine visit. Dr. Cyfra and his team were extremely professional and compassionate in helping me make decisions regarding surgery. Pre and post op care was amazing. I highly recommend for all animal care.

First, let me say that I’m a new puppy parent and my anxiety about taking quality care of him is dialed up to say the least. ACW was recommended to me by a friend and I couldn’t be happier with the care my Kevin (and I) receive. Dr. Blessing and Dr. Harper have been so patient and good to us. My Kevin is a lemon (but he’s my lemon!) and has been sick since the day I brought him home. The clinic is very responsive to my calls and emails, and trust me, there are a lot of them. They have taken the time to go over how I should care for him, everything from how to trim his nails, clean his ears, to evaluating his diet. They really do care. The vets are honest with me about Kevin’s situation, never telling me what I should do, but giving me the options and being supportive. I have never been made to feel rushed, ignorant or judged. I couldn’t ask for a better clinic. The vets and staff are top-notch.

AMAZING staff!!! We’ve been members of the Animal Clinic West family for about five years and had two dogs and a cat come here for care; they are the best! All the staff seems to know who our fur babies are the second we call in and no matter who looked after them last, they all ask about how the recovery is going from out last visit. Our main Dr. is Dr. Jodie Harbour and she has to be the most kind, patient and knowledgeable person in existence. She always takes the time to ensure we understand various options for care even when I stupidly ask her to clarify stuff numerous times. Our first dog was fear reactive and very difficult for strangers to care for but the staff always took the time to work with us and ensure he got the care he needed and mad ether extra effort to try to book him in at times that would be the least stressful for all involved. When we lost him unexpectedly, we were out of town and the clinic (led by Kyle and Dr Habour) took him in until we were back, offered us the opportunity to say goodbye and helped us through that difficult time; TOTALLY above and beyond. Our new guys is 1.5, has been coming here since he was a new puppy and is the exact opposite, aggressively friendly. While he LOVES everyone there and gets so excited to see them, he has also been a bit conflicted and timid lately when we take him in as he knows his ears may be getting looked at (he’s prone to ear infections) but again, the staff always goes above and beyond to help us get him through the door and show him a lot of love (I swear we must be responsible for half of their treat budget)! I can’t recommend this place enough, a vet has opened up about a block from our house but we still take the time to drive to this one. On top of the superb care from everyone, they are easy to book an appointment with and even have fair pricing. Sorry this is so long and has a lot of run-ons but I guess I’m just so excited to finally be writing this review-it’s long overdue!

When we had a healthy cat we loved this place, but things went downhill when we bought another (non-healthy) cat.
Our new cat was diagnosed with a disease after several tests. Then our cats were put on special medicated diets which did not fix some additional issues, issues that no matter how many times I brought up were not addressed. Those issues should not be linked to the disease they have. Or at least it was never specifically addressed by the vets.
The final straw for us to no longer go here was because of the increased costs from tests the doctor would do without stating the cost up front (bill shock) and the proposed costs (regular vitamin B shots, raw rabbit diet, etc).
It's a good place, just not for our situation.
ps. Elliott doesn't like this place because they took his balls.

We can't say enough amazing things about Dr Harbour and the team at Animal Clinic West. We first saw her for a puppy wellness exam and she went over a ton of info with us and talked vaccine schedules and nail clipping and answered all of our new puppy parent questions. Then when we had issues with our puppy shortly after bringing her home, Dr Harbour took the time to thoroughly explain all of our options, gave us realistic treatments to get our little puppy feeling better and answered all of our many, many questions. The test results came in on a day she wasn't working and so Dr Cyfra took time out of his day to go over the results with us and provide a plan until we could talk to Dr Harbour the next day. BEYOND happy that we brought our little puppy Stella to Animal Clinic West where she's already been taken such good care of. We've seen other vets for other pets in the past and none have ever been as helpful or as supportive as Dr Harbour and the team at Animal Clinic West. We would absolutely recommend Dr Harbour to anyone in need of an incredibly smart, caring and kind vet.

Wonderful vet office. We got our first puppy and after a few google searches we brought him to Animal West. Small office right off 37th across from Westbrook mall. I'd say the only downside is the parking. No lot, just have to park along 37th. Our vet is so nice and extremely thorough. The office is clean!! And the vet techs are so nice and cheerful. I get email confirmations for appointments which I like. When I have had to call in they are super pleasant on the phone. I'd totally recommend these guys!I don't recall them having grooming services.

I looked around for a new vet after my previous clinic did not deliver, for example they missed things on my oldest dog that this clinic found in 1st checkup!
The vet my dogs see is Dr. Harbour. She is accommodating, clear, concise, knowledgeable and above all does not push products or up sell.
It is refreshing to have vet techs that care and remember names of my dogs. I would recommend this clinic in a heart beat.

Can not even begin to describe the AMAZING service this clinic provides. We recently moved and needed a new vet, they went above and beyond to help us schedule an appointment when we needed it.
The vet did an outstanding job at explaining everything in "non medical" terms to us, cuddled with our dog, took over an hour to talk about all of our concerns (not just medical but also behavioural). The appointment was followed up with a phone call and detailed email with a plan to work on our dogs anxiety, diet, allergies. Our second visit (due to an ear infection) was as good as the first one, both vets really took the time, they showed interest, they did not push for additional expensive services but recommended what they thought was necessary.
I also appreciated the fact that the vets are open to raw diets, most vets I have seen in Calgary do not recommend them and struggle to work with you if your pet is on a raw food diet.

The vets always make you feel like your pets are the cutest things they ever seen (which of course they are), and I am never worried to leave them in their capable hands.

I have been bringing my pets to Animal Clinic West since about 2006 and have never been disappointed. Dr. Cyfra has been wonderful over the years, and Dr. Harbour has been an excellent addition to the team. They both are very knowledgeable, and when needed, give a variety of options for diagnostic procedures and treatments that work for both me and my pets. Though the team of veterinary technicians and doctors have changed since 2006, as is bound to happen over time, the compassionate, positive, and welcoming environment has not. You can tell everybody there loves what they do, and it really shines through in their work.

This is a very user friendly clinic. I had to find a new vet and found this clinic to be very friendly/ down to earth/ easy to talk to and ask questions/ not to mention good with dogs -in my case. In addition, very accommodating. So one of my dogs eats a full box of chocolate on Christmas eve and I call in a panic and they make room for us and handle the situation!
Just an all round dependable clinic. Highly recommend them.

Easily the best vet experience I have ever had. My dog is a 6 year old rescue from Mexico, extremely skittish around strangers, and even worse when it came to going to the vet. I used to have to carry him into any vet office, and it would take a muzzle and at least 3 people to clip his nails (he even had to be put under a few times). The staff at Animal Clinic West are so friendly and knowledgeable and you can tell they absolutely love all animals. They are so patient with Leo, and all visits have been stress free with no anxiety whatsoever - only one person needed for a nail trim! Honestly they are complete miracle workers, no matter where I live in the city I will always take him here.

This is the best Vet clinic I have ever dealt with. All the staff are compassionate and caring of both the pet and pet parent. When I lost my friend they let me know they were there if I needed wanted them but gave me space to say good bye and grieve.
