Their prices are absolutely insane! Two nail trims and one anal gland expression cost $112!! And they didn’t let us come in the room for that, and my dog is still dragging her butt on the ground, so I’m skeptical that they even did anything. I get that you pay a little extra for a vet to do a nail trim but $40 a dog is an absolute rip off. In addition to that, I had a dog in there because she was limping. I had spent over $600 and they told me to just keep throwing drugs at the problem. I wanted to try physical therapy and they were very adamant that I would be making the problem worse. Well three sessions of that and my dog is fixed! I’m very disappointed at the narrow minded views and astronomical prices of this clinic. I won’t be returning.

I have 2 cats that take Clomicalm daily, after reading reviews that this clinic was reasonably priced I thought I'd call and compare them to my current provider, VCA McKenzie Towne, (called Nov. 22/18). The cost for the exam was around the same price but the price for the medication came in almost $20.00 more per 30 pill bottle. A substantially higher price.

Dr Margaret Doyle is just the most amazing vet and human being. She is so kind, intelligent, knowledgeable and compassionate. The staff is also so amazing! Dr. Doyle always takes the time to listen and she always takes the time to diagnose. She has so much experience and always explores as many different possibilities as possible. There are not very many good veterinaries let alone good people around and Dr. Doyle is one of a very few. If you want the best possible care for your animal she is the one to go to. She has taken such great care of my three pups especially my rotti who does not have much time left but tries everything that she can possibly think of to make him comfortable and happy. I am forever in her debt for taking such great care of all my pups!

I brought my 13 year old Boston Terrier in for an over due exam. It was quick and easy to schedule an appointment. Dr. Doyle was very thorough in her exam and very proactive in discussing where spending money would be most effective and efficient in Pookie's vet care. Pookie had dental surgery and I feel received very good care while in the clinic. Before discharge, the tech went over nicely detailed instructions for her after care and answered all my questions.

Dr.Aleksandra Tanyi at Marlborough location is an amazing diagnostician! I took my cat to a recommend vet in my area and he wasn't able to diagnose the issue after X-rays and observation for the whole day. Five days later my cat was worse - so I drove across town to see my former vet Dr.Tanyi. She immediately diagnosed Ninja and treated her. Ninja is on the mend now

Their care and compassion is second to none when it came time for one of them to cross the rainbow bridge. I took my dog Talia to this clinic soon after it opened because it was the only one in this area. Talia had been off colour for a few days. The female vet examined her. When we left, I noticed Talia walked with a limp. I took her back inside and asked the vet about it. I learned I would be charged to have her examined again even though Talia hadn't limped when we first went there and something had happened during the vet's examination. I left and took Talia to my usual vet, I learned the dog's shoulder had been dislocated.

I've been taking my dogs to the Riverbend Animal Clinic since 2001 and have always been impressed with their care and professionalism. About ten months ago we found that my 13 year old Springer had cancer. All options were explained and discussed and we decided that, because of her advanced age, we would follow a course of anti inflammatory meds and keep her as comfortable as possible. Prognosis was six months. We had a few follow ups appointments over the course of the last ten months of which Ivy was holding her own and still had a good quality of life. The last month she took a turn for the worse and after Monday's appointment we decided that she was suffering and the time had come to put her down. Ivy quietly drifted to sleep Wednesday afternoon with me by her side.
Through this entire ordeal Dr Doyle and the staff at the clinic were nothing but compassionate and caring. They bent over backwards to accommodate appointments for Ivy (for which I am truly grateful). Dr Doyle's honest love for animals, informed diagnosis, and her gentle treatment of Ivy helped me make the correct decisions at the right time for my dog who was like my own child. I can't thank her and the staff at Riverbend Animal Clinic enough for helping me during this terribly painful time.

We had gone in for a checkup for our min pin (Hades) yesterday at the Trans Canada location. We had been going there for years for our other animals and this was our first visit with Dr. Zedde. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Zedde and his team, he is the best veterinarian that we have ever had. Hades is typically very nervous and aggressive at his visits to all vets. Not this time, Hades which normally bites (among other tactics) did nothing. He stood there while Dr. Zedde nurtured him during the physical examination. Dr. Zedde cared about him and made him feel comfortable. We could clearly see that Dr. Zedde loves what he does, its rare to find a doctor like him that takes the time to look at all options, listens to you and searches for answers. When it comes to a pet you want whats best and we defiantly have found the best veterinarian. The front staff were very kind as well, overall 5 star experience.

I've been here a couple of times with my dog. It was very highly recommended by somebody. However, the vet recommended to me was no longer available so I decided, based on reasonable prices and the good review, to try another vet on staff. Since I brought my dog as a puppy, I hoped to stick with one vet as much as possible to make her accustomed and comfortable to the vet she was seeing. The vet I saw the first time was fantastic, I went out of my way to see her again, booking earlier then I had originally planned so I could see her before she went on a vacation. Unfortunately, when I went in, she was not there and a vet tech gave my puppy the shot she needed. However, there was a mixup and I had been told I was getting a different shot than administered. They called the original vet I saw and verified that my dog got the right shot, but it was still a nerve-wracking experience. When I brought my girl in for her spay a month or so later, she went in with a third vet, and although the surgery went good and no problems, I was still disappointed that it was not the same vet that had originally seen her the first time. As a result, I probably won't be back. It was out of my way to go here, and if I'm not seeing the same vet it's not really worth it to me. Apart from the mixups, the vets on staff seem to know what they are doing and if the clinic is nearby I would still recommend it, as long as your are okay with your dog seeing different vets every visit.

The vets here are quality, but the prices are way above market. I have taken both of my dogs to this clinic for years, but the pricing has increased to a point I am not comfortable with. Once I shopped around, I found myself satisfied that I was being gouged. I suppose those of us who live in this area are an easy mark, as the clinic is located in an area where most residents have money. Just because we can afford it, doesn't mean we should be subject to the highest prices in the market. I would advise prospective clients to shop around. My research indicates that this clinic is a good 20-25% above almost anyone else in the market. There are other good vets in Edmonton who charge substantially less, so do your homework.

As an owner of 4 pets (I think that's one away from zoo status) I can say that I have always been impressed with the service received here. Unlike other posters, I don't think the prices are out of line compared to what I've paid in Ontario in the past. I like that the vets here clearly are interested in the animals. They remember little things about them that aren't written in the files. They always give options and costs so you can make an informed choice. They have in fact given me opportunities to save money when they didn't have to. I also like how I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment.Recently I was there and an irate customer, who was in the wrong, was yelling at them about confusion over appointment times. The front desk lady handled herself very well and was calm and collected. A follow up call was placed to the customer later in my visit and the professionalism continued even though he had been somewhat abusive.I think they offer fair prices and great service and that's what matters to me for my pets.

Most recently, they saved our 11-year old dog's life with major surgery. Our 12-year old cat is dieing from an incurable illness, and the doctors and staff have been wonderful in supporting our family during this sad time.

Dr Margaret Doyle is just the most amazing vet and human being. She is so kind, intelligent, knowledgeable and compassionate. The staff is also so amazing! Dr. Doyle always takes the time to listen and she always takes the time to diagnose. She has so much experience and always explores as many different possibilities as possible. There are not very many good veterinaries let alone good people around and Dr. Doyle is one of a very few. If you want the best possible care for your animal she is the one to go to. She has taken such great care of my three pups especially my rotti who does not have much time left but tries everything that she can possibly think of to make him comfortable and happy. I am forever in her debt for taking such great care of all my pups!

I brought my 13 year old Boston Terrier in for an over due exam. It was quick and easy to schedule an appointment. Dr. Doyle was very thorough in her exam and very proactive in discussing where spending money would be most effective and efficient in Pookie's vet care. Pookie had dental surgery and I feel received very good care while in the clinic. Before discharge, the tech went over nicely detailed instructions for her after care and answered all my questions.

Dr.Aleksandra Tanyi at Marlborough location is an amazing diagnostician! I took my cat to a recommend vet in my area and he wasn't able to diagnose the issue after X-rays and observation for the whole day. Five days later my cat was worse - so I drove across town to see my former vet Dr.Tanyi. She immediately diagnosed Ninja and treated her. Ninja is on the mend now

The doctors and staff have been providing excellent care and advice for my 2 dogs over the past 16+ years. Their care and compassion is second to none when it came time for one of them to cross the rainbow bridge. We adopted a rescue dog to keep the other company and look forward to many more years of the best in vet care for them.

I took my dog Talia to this clinic soon after it opened because it was the only one in this area. Talia had been off colour for a few days. The female vet examined her. When we left, I noticed Talia walked with a limp. I took her back inside and asked the vet about it. I learned I would be charged to have her examined again even though Talia hadn't limped when we first went there and something had happened during the vet's examination. I left and took Talia to my usual vet, I learned the dog's shoulder had been dislocated.

I've been taking my dogs to the Riverbend Animal Clinic since 2001 and have always been impressed with their care and professionalism. About ten months ago we found that my 13 year old Springer had cancer. All options were explained and discussed and we decided that, because of her advanced age, we would follow a course of anti inflammatory meds and keep her as comfortable as possible. Prognosis was six months. We had a few follow ups appointments over the course of the last ten months of which Ivy was holding her own and still had a good quality of life. The last month she took a turn for the worse and after Monday's appointment we decided that she was suffering and the time had come to put her down. Ivy quietly drifted to sleep Wednesday afternoon with me by her side.
Through this entire ordeal Dr Doyle and the staff at the clinic were nothing but compassionate and caring. They bent over backwards to accommodate appointments for Ivy (for which I am truly grateful). Dr Doyle's honest love for animals, informed diagnosis, and her gentle treatment of Ivy helped me make the correct decisions at the right time for my dog who was like my own child. I can't thank her and the staff at Riverbend Animal Clinic enough for helping me during this terribly painful time.

We had gone in for a checkup for our min pin (Hades) yesterday at the Trans Canada location. We had been going there for years for our other animals and this was our first visit with Dr. Zedde. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Zedde and his team, he is the best veterinarian that we have ever had. Hades is typically very nervous and aggressive at his visits to all vets. Not this time, Hades which normally bites (among other tactics) did nothing. He stood there while Dr. Zedde nurtured him during the physical examination. Dr. Zedde cared about him and made him feel comfortable. We could clearly see that Dr. Zedde loves what he does, its rare to find a doctor like him that takes the time to look at all options, listens to you and searches for answers. When it comes to a pet you want whats best and we defiantly have found the best veterinarian. The front staff were very kind as well, overall 5 star experience.

I've been here a couple of times with my dog. It was very highly recommended by somebody. However, the vet recommended to me was no longer available so I decided, based on reasonable prices and the good review, to try another vet on staff. Since I brought my dog as a puppy, I hoped to stick with one vet as much as possible to make her accustomed and comfortable to the vet she was seeing. The vet I saw the first time was fantastic, I went out of my way to see her again, booking earlier then I had originally planned so I could see her before she went on a vacation. Unfortunately, when I went in, she was not there and a vet tech gave my puppy the shot she needed. However, there was a mixup and I had been told I was getting a different shot than administered. They called the original vet I saw and verified that my dog got the right shot, but it was still a nerve-wracking experience. When I brought my girl in for her spay a month or so later, she went in with a third vet, and although the surgery went good and no problems, I was still disappointed that it was not the same vet that had originally seen her the first time. As a result, I probably won't be back. It was out of my way to go here, and if I'm not seeing the same vet it's not really worth it to me. Apart from the mixups, the vets on staff seem to know what they are doing and if the clinic is nearby I would still recommend it, as long as your are okay with your dog seeing different vets every visit.

The vets here are quality, but the prices are way above market. I have taken both of my dogs to this clinic for years, but the pricing has increased to a point I am not comfortable with. Once I shopped around, I found myself satisfied that I was being gouged. I suppose those of us who live in this area are an easy mark, as the clinic is located in an area where most residents have money. Just because we can afford it, doesn't mean we should be subject to the highest prices in the market. I would advise prospective clients to shop around. My research indicates that this clinic is a good 20-25% above almost anyone else in the market. There are other good vets in Edmonton who charge substantially less, so do your homework.

As an owner of 4 pets (I think that's one away from zoo status) I can say that I have always been impressed with the service received here. Unlike other posters, I don't think the prices are out of line compared to what I've paid in Ontario in the past. I like that the vets here clearly are interested in the animals. They remember little things about them that aren't written in the files. They always give options and costs so you can make an informed choice. They have in fact given me opportunities to save money when they didn't have to. I also like how I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment.Recently I was there and an irate customer, who was in the wrong, was yelling at them about confusion over appointment times. The front desk lady handled herself very well and was calm and collected. A follow up call was placed to the customer later in my visit and the professionalism continued even though he had been somewhat abusive.I think they offer fair prices and great service and that's what matters to me for my pets.

Most recently, they saved our 11-year old dog's life with major surgery. Our 12-year old cat is dieing from an incurable illness, and the doctors and staff have been wonderful in supporting our family during this sad time.
