The staff is really great here, and the prices are extremely reasonable. We've had Dr. Holt help us on a couple occasions and he was always very professional, enthusiastic about helping the animals to the best of his ability, and very friendly. He even quite happily explained some of what he was doing after asking if I was interested and how much I knew already, which wasn't much. Amazing vets! I took my puppy there after moving out to the area and was pleased with the staff and their care of my animal. But I was truly amazed with them sending out their large animal vet Jordan Holt in the dark of the night to help our horse who had gas colic. He was great, thorough, caring and comforting. My family and boarders will be using Eastern Slopes and their team for all our animals from now on, highly recommended! Read Less

This is the best vet clinic out there, from the wonderful receptionists, to the vet tech and finally Dr Ingrid.  What vet gets down on the floor and plays with your dogs?  They have always been fantastic with all of our animals and have always had the best treatment and care.  All of the ladies who work there obviously love animals and have a lot of compassion towards them.  I would highly recommend Eastern Slopes. Dr Rozema and her staff are very knowledgeable, kind and caring. Not only do they know what they're doing, but they also don't push unnecessary procedures or treatments on their clients/patients. I've had to put two dogs down recently with them, at the respect they've shown both me and my animals was immense. This is the reason why I continue to drive all the way to Black Diamond to see them, even though I live in Calgary. I would recommend this vet clinic to anyone. Read Less

Let me just say that I have never written a review before but felt that I needed to in this circumstance to prevent people from having the same horrible experience that I just did. I am staying with my parents in black diamond and my 4 year old retriever got an ear infection. I went to this vet because it was close and convenient (and I assumed it would be a quick and easy visit). My dog gets nervous at the vet (particularly when attending new places), which she demonstrates through, admittedly loud, barking. The vet nurse came in and took a swab, no problem. However, when the actual vet came in she immediately showed signs of fear (even though there was no signs of aggression whatsoever; just barking). When I told my dog to "lie down", my dog grunted as she did (as she usually does at home) and the vet stated "she's growled at me a couple times now so I'm going to have to grab a muzzle". I was shocked but didn't say anything - I just wanted to get the appointment over with. I had never experienced this kind of uncomfortableness at a vet clinic before. So she put a muzzle on her and proceeded with the physical exam. My dog has never warn a muzzle before and started panting and couldn't breathe so she started panicking, trying to paw it off and shaking her head. I finally came to my senses and said to the vet "get it off of her, she can't breathe". The vet stood back, repeatedly told her to "calm down" and replied to me by saying "actually she can breathe." I demanded she take it off of her and she finally did and reluctantlyproceeded with the exam. Long story short, we got some ear drops and left. I was actually horrified by the whole experience. If my dog had shown any signs of aggression I would have been horrified by my dog's behaviour; but instead I am completely horrified by the vet and how my dog was treated from the moment she walked into the room. As a trained vet, you should be able to tell the difference between nervousness (a littlecommunicative barking) and aggressive behaviours (hackles up; teeth bared; growling). My dog even barks at her original vets, which she's been seeing since she was a baby, because she's nervous but turns into putty in their hands in no time. Anyways, I could go on forever about the unprofessionalism and lack of experience that was exhibited by this vet but I will end by saying, just be aware before taking your animals here. Read Less

Had to give my fur baby her wings today. It was a hard day for my family and Ingrid helped make it manageable. She is amazing and so is her staff. Tara and Ingrid are worth it every time. I don't trust many people with my babies but would trust Tara and Ingrid any day. Thank you for your support today and loving care. A good friend recommended Dr. Ingrid Rozema as someone who might listen to the issues we were having with our rescue and be able to help us help her. So far we hadn't made much progress at two other clinics in the two years we have had our dog. Willow has a consistently high anxiety level that can spin out of control in different situations. Weather, the dishwasher, storms, pneumatic nail guns all set her off in a terrible panic. I found the clinic to be clean and well appointed. Willow was weighed and her basic information taken and we were shown to a room. The wait was minimal. Dr. Rozema took a complete history, listened to 20 minutes of background and did a complete physical on Willow, pronouncing her healthy as a horse if somewhat whacky. She prescribed an anti bark bird cage that works like magic for the barking problem and a prescription for an anti-anxiety med that I filled at Safeway, then charged me a very fair fee. Best of all, it has been two weeks and I have a new dog. Thank you Eastern Slopes and Dr Rozema for a job well done!Read Less

Had a tumor removed from (bubs)doberman on Monday and they were friendly fast informational and very proffesional and most of all very fair on price. Ingrid and the whole team have been amazing with my dog. Misty has had a ruff life, she is a rescue dog from Hurricane Katrina. She suffers from sever allergies. Ingrid has worked her magic to help Misty over come her allergies with trying different food and seeing what she is allergic to. Misty has a protein allergie, which really sucks for a farm dog as she gets into everything. Ingrid never gave up and we have Misty pretty much stable. If it wasn't for Ingrid and the Eastern Slopes team, who knows where Misty would be right now. Mandy Read Less

I can't believe no one has written a review for this amazing clinic yet!  Living in tiny Black Diamond for the summer - my cat has mysteriously stopped eating.  Seeing as Eastern Slopes is the only vet clinic in town, I was hoping for the best!!!  And I got the best!  I love this place!  I've had animals all of my life + been to numerous veterinarian + I'm telling you that this is a special clinic.  Eastern Slopes is super clean, the staff is warm + extremely nice + vets Ingrid + Sonja give you more than enough information + really care!  They even let you go into the back while administering shots!  I highly recommend this great group of animal lovers!  Oh + their resident kitty Frosty is suuuuper cute too!!!
