I took my sister's dogs here for two different issues and I have to say, I have been very impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the opportunity to also get real help with two relatively serious issues. One was a serious eye issue and the other was a spinal issue that was affecting the ability of the dog to feel what was going on on his foot. They have a chiropractor who comes in Wednesday morning to deal with dog concerns and she gave the dog spinal adjustments that made a real improvement for him. Read Less

I have been going to this vet for a few years, actually both my niece and I take our cats. The last check up, they clipped my cat's nails for free. I go a couple of weeks ago and they charged me $26.25. I was dumbfounded and appalled. Needless to say, I no longer use them. quite a disappointment to say the very least!!!!! Read Less

I have been going to Crestwood for 10 + years with our fur babies. I have to say they have the best staff, they are so polite and caring and always greeting you when you come in the building. I love Dr. Doug he is the most compassionate and caring Vet. He goes above and beyond by calling to see how our dog or dogs are doing and calling the pharmacy for a prescriptions if needed. If its a emergency they never turn us down and always find a way for us to see a Doctor. When it came to my daughters silver Lab Dr. Doug tried every thing he could for him and when it came time we had to euthanize him they were so caring and let us take our time to say our goodbyes even though they were so busy. Place is going downhill fast unfortunately. Wrong dosage on meds. Given a quote which had procedures left off of it. Then showed up to a bill increased by 50%. Was told 5 to 6 days for biopsy results. After 3 weeks i had to call and ask for them. And yet the staff chuckled at my comment about having to babysit them. When its clearly all on the animals owners to do as much research as possible before entering their front door. And be prepared for some of the highest prices in the area. No wonder the whole staff is all smiles... They do as little as possible and are clearly over-paid :( Very disappointed on many fronts :( Read Less

Was seen by a new vet this time who seemed unwilling to help with anything. I brought her attention to a lesion on my dog's leg, she had no idea what it was and said to just keep an eye on it. I expressed that my dog has had issues with her anal glands before and had been scooting and licking them, vet wouldn't empty them. Didn't even offer to clip the nails. The staff was the same as usual, seemingly best friends with every person that came through the door, but standoffish and aloof to me. Definitely switching to a new vet. Read Less

After seeing dr. Scott about a month ago for a consult on my dog after a friends referral and multiple visits to my regular vet with no definitive answer on what was going on with my girls leg, Dr. Scott was able to give me an answer almost immediately. Today she went for surgery to fix a torn meniscus and I could not have had a better experience. The entire staff at crestwood are absolutely wonderful and accommodating! I will be switching vet clinics and look forward to both a great recovery for my dog and future visits. I'm giving two stars instead of one for one reason: several weeks ago I had my cat rushed in with a blocked bladder from crystals. The staff got him in that morning, and kept him overnight with several calls to me to let me know how he was doing. The bill was just over $1300. I was told I need to keep buying him special food to prevent any further issues like that one. Today, I went to grab his more food on my lunch hour, spent a realistic 15-20 minutes waiting for anyone to acknowledge that I was even there while they chatted to each other with their Starbucks and contemplated taking the afternoon off. I am very frustrated that a single client waiting for some help to get food for her beloved animal, while being the only client in the storefront, was not at least told that someone would be with me shortly, or at all. Even more frustrated that when another person walked in and walked straight to the counter, they were greeted with a smile, and started a conversation with reception immediately. While I am grateful that my cat was rushed immediately into surgery, I will not be revisiting the clinic any time soon for my future pet needs. EDIT: I was called by the office manager (same day) who apologized for the experience, asked me how my feline was holding up since his surgery, and offered some free food for him if I wanted to pick it up. My family has had a few experiences with Vets in this city and never have we had as good experience as we do at Crestwood! Our little poodle is now almost 17 so we have had our fair share of visits. Just recently we were out of town and had to leave him at a kennel which unfortunately lead to another dog biting our poor poodle, leaving him with injuries that needed a vets attention. We had a friend go and pick him up from the kennel and take him to Crestwood where they took care of him and offered to kennel him for us so they could assure us he was going to be okay! This was my first visit with my dog and I have nothing bad to say about them. I will return and my daughter will now be taking her dog there as well because the vet she goes to currently is quite pricey. Friendly, knowledgeable, and reasonable. After over a year and about 5 vet's opinions, I finally found answers at Crestwood. Whenever I told coworkers or friends about my dog's problems and the lack of help from vets, they kept recommending me to Crestwood. So eventually I went and I am SO happy I did.My dog had been vomiting blood for about a year. Vets treated the symptoms but could never find the problem. I went to Dr. Doug primarily because he has a lot of experience with endoscopy which is what I felt my dog needed at that point to figure this issue you.He actually told me the endoscopy might not be necessary but that he would still do it so we could rule out any issues. Hear that? A vet that doesn't pressure you into spending money... Anyways, he did the endoscopy and everything did turn out fine. Turns out the magic cure for my dog's problem was a simple prescription of pepcid ac. That paired with the sulcrate for several months cured her. She continues to take 1/2 a pepcid daily for the last year and is doing great. I cannot believe that after ALL those vets and ALL that money (over $2000) I spent, and the solution was so simple. My dog has continued going to Crestwood for any other issues and they are always amazing. She once had an issue where she was digging in her kennel and causing her nails to bleed. I took her in to make sure there wasn't any other issues, and he told me that it was just due to the digging and there wasn't much I could do apart from putting socks on her or some training. All good! Best part there? I was NOT CHARGED for anything that day, including the appointment, because as he jokingly put he "didn't really do anything".After being to so many vets and seeing how many put money above animals, it is very refreshing to find a vet that so obviously puts animals first. I went to see Dr. Scott after I received a recommendation for a very expensive surgery and diagnostic quote. The recommended options were quoted at $4500.00. When Dr Scott took his own X-rays there was no evidence of a fracture so obviously no need for a surgery. The level of care was superb and there was no expensive up-sell that has become so common with the clinics these days. Ruby has had 2 TPLO's done by Todd and she runs and jumps like it has never happened. Running was her life and thanks to Todd she can run everyday! We had to have our cat of 19 years put down today, and I have to say that this clinic is the best I have ever had to deal with. They were so compassionate and so very easy to deal with. There rates are far better than the other clinics we checked out. I do have to admit I read reviews prior to booking the appointment and I will be taking my dog there despite having a clinic up the road. I loved there attitude, they really seemed to care about the pets and explained it all prior to doing anything. They gave my husband & I time to grieve before leaving. I am not one for writing reviews but really had to share our experience with this clinic. Its not about money its about the animals. They took what we said and didn't offer to do more test before putting her down. It was heart wrenching but a good experience with them. UPDATE: we received a card in the mail today and I burst into tears. It was in some ways a sympathy card, but yet so much more. A lovely letter letting us know we did the right thing but also a foot print of kitty's was in the card. Signed by all the staff members. Totally floored me. Such awesome people. We've visited a number of different vets here, all have been caring and thoughtful treating my elderly gal.Best techs I've seen, and I've been around clinics with sick critters for many years. Blood drawn without shaving kitty... she didn't even notice! Impressive skills.Very convenient to pick up pet food and prices are comparable to other clinics in town.  Nice selection of toys and prices are really reasonable. I love this place. My cat recently became a diabetic. They were awesome. Fred is 14 and happy as ever. Very nice staff. Tim, Edmonton Last week was Fred's last. He lost his battle with diabetes. I had to put him down. The people here are awesome. Very kind and compassionate. Fred's vet Dr. Lisa Gruber is a wonderful vet. I rescued another older cat named Leon. I have been going to Crestwood Vet Centre since I moved to Edmonton last year and it has been a fantastic experience so far. My cat is a HUGE pain to deal when he's out in public - big whiner and likes to struggle with everyone - and I am so thankful to the staff, particularly Dr. Pellegrino, for being so patient with him! I've gone to the clinic for checkups, teeth cleaning and extractions, and also brought him in for xrays after he experienced a little fall to make sure he was okay. I've been going to this vet for many years and have had a great experience.  They are very thorough and truly care about your pet. They took care of my dog who was brutally attacked by another dog and he made a full and great recovery thanks to them. They stayed late when I came in with my emergency and treated me like family. I love the ladies up front too. They truly care and love seeing my dogs when I come in and remember me and are friendly and wonderful. The vets are great! Dr Andrea and dr Doug are the greatest vets I've been too in a long time. I highly recommend Crestwood. They also waved an entire exam fee for my friend who couldn't afford the visit but desperately needed to get his dog meds and they saw the dog and Prescribed medication and didn't charge a single cent for an exam fee. I'm a long-time cat lover and owner and have been taking my little guys to Crestwood for over a decade, seeing most of the vets there.  They recently started seeing the newest vet at the clinic, Dr. Andrea Pellegrino.  One of my guys has been having health issues for a long time and it looked like we were at the end with him, I didn't think we'd have him with us this Christmas.  But Dr. Pellegrino fought tooth and nail for him and now we have him with us - she is an incredibly caring and compassionate person and vet.  I am so thankful our cats have her looking out for them.  Can't say enough for the caring team at Crestwood - everyone there really looks out for their furry patients. We have been to this vet office to see Dr. Doug Heffelfinger on numerous occasions. He neutered our male guinea pig and has worked along side us to help with various skin conditions that have occurred. He also tried to save our female guinea pig who wasn't well- due to an ovarian cyst. Unfortunately, our mommy guinea pig wasn't strong enough to survive the surgery and passed away. Both the doctor and the office were very sympathetic when this happened- and even sent us a condolence card. I have been to Park Vet in Sherwood Park a few times (before I found Crestwood and when Dr. Heffelfinger has been out of town). Every time I have gone to Park Vet, I have left feeling ripped off. I truly appreciate the affordable pricing at Crestwood. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, reasonable pricing, and community work with Rescue associations (such as Rescue for Life) all illustrate to me that Crestwood Vet truly values their clients and that they believe in giving back to the community. Regarding Doctor Pat Kubik: We attended with out cat (Ali) Oct 11/11 for a diagnosis .. Our cat hadn't eaten  for some time and was quite old and sick so we made the sad  decision to end her suffering. Dr. Kubik was sensitive to our feelings and made a difficult time much easier for us.
