Ok! I have finally come to leave a review for Dr. Basha and his staff at the Edmonton South Veterinarian Clinic. I have to be honest, I've been stalling for purely selfish reasons! Lol I knew that once I put this review online, everyone is going to want to bring their fur babies here in the future which means longer wait times to get in to see Dr. Basha! I told you! Purely selfish!! But after careful soul-searching I had to bite the bullet and share this gem of a veterinarian and his awesome staff!! We are new to the clinic having just started coming here at the beginning of June. Our girls, Mylie and Hannah are our 9 year old Maltese and Morkie. They both needed a wellness check up, vaccinations, spaying and Hannah had some tumors along her mammary chain that were very alarming and actually turned out to be malignant. We had recently moved and after very careful research into many vet clinics though out Edmonton, we decided on Dr. Basha at Edmonton South. I think we were Divinely guided! So happy with the incredible work Dr. Basha did with both of the girls' surgeries...especially Hannah's...she required 2 surgeries to removed her entire mammary chain...one side at a time. The incision is basically from just below collar bone all the way down to the bottom on each side. If you can believe this, there's barely a scar from both of those surgeries...and Mylie's incision for her spay is almost none existent. They healed quickly and easily and everything Dr. Basha talked to us about was done beautifully. Aside from doing outstanding technical work, Dr. Basha has more bedside manner than a lot of people specialists have and that's very important to us. I can honestly say, we 110% trust Dr. Basha and his staff to look after the girls in whatever way is needed. No questions asked! The prices are very reasonable. Dr. Basha is outstanding...he doesn't get you doing unnecessary tests, etc. and if your little one needs the testing, he explains why. He is there for the animals and you can really tell he loves them! He is at the clinic 6 long work days out of 7 each week, so in case of emergencies, that's important! He's the very first vet I've ever taken my animals to that actually personally calls to explain things thoroughly and discuss any further treatment if necessary. I've never ever had a vet do that! AND, most importantly....the girls love him! (I secretly think he is Cesar Milan's brother... he's got the same way about him with the animals, very cool to watch how he interacts with them and how they respond! :) I have no reservations whatsoever telling anyone to go see Dr. Basha if you want the very best care for your pet. We did and we'll never, ever go anywhere else!! :) Thank you to Dr. Basha and his staff for navigating what turned out to be a wonderful experience at thir clinic and looking after the girls and us so well! :) All the best for a very successful clinic...it won't be long before it's #1 in the city, if it isn't already! :)

I am really surprised by all these positive comments because I experienced a complete different Dr. Tan.
While the front desk staff was friendly and I was able to get an immediate appointment for my senior cat, my actual experience with the Doctor left me with the decision to not return to that clinic.
I am looking for a new place to bring my animals and was hoping for a better experience. The doctor was not friendly to my cat, didn't pet her and was very rough with her when shaving her tail and giving her oral medicine. I expect doctors that work with animals to pet them, hold them, talk to them to try and comfort them. I felt very uneasy as he handled her and I felt unhappy for my 16 year old cat.
He may have been having a bad day but it is not an excuse.
Unfortunately I would not return or reccommend this place to anyone.

I've taken my cats here a few times but we recently got a new puppy and have gone here with him for his last two sets of shots. His last set was a nightmare. When we saw the vet it was a student vet and an an older woman vet. They told me he should get these two shots (benadryl and something else) before his shots to help prevent reactions to the shots because he got bloody diarrhea for like two weeks a few days after his last set of shots. So we did, even though the previous vet we saw about the issue said he probably had a sensitive stomach... So our pup got these shots anyways just in case. Then he got his last set of vaccines and the student did them and poked him SO MANY times because she couldn't get it in and he was crying so much (last time he didnt even notice he was getting them) and she got the vaccine fluid all over him.. the older woman came back in and told her to redo one of them since there was lots on him but not to redo the other she admitted to spilling half of .. So now he has like half a rabies shot.. It was so awful. My poor boy was crying so much. Then they dewormed him (without letting me know first) using a different type of dewormer than he had the last three times and I thought it was only supposed to be two or three doses but this older woman vet said he actually needs it SIX times.. And gave us 3 more doses to take home so he would have been dewormed SEVEN times actually.. just seems excessive. ... And the bill was DOUBLE the cost I was expecting because this new dewormer was so expensive and they didn't even tell me that first. And we were there 1.5 hours!! It shouldn't take that long. And the older vet lectured me that we HAVE to kennel train him, even though we are not wanting to kennel train and I told her that, but she was adament that its the only way. And my poor pup hurts.. for two days after he cried when you pick him up because of how many times they poked him unsuccessfully 😭😭😭 it shouldnt hurt him like that. It was such a nightmare. Please don't go here.

We recently had to put my little guy (dog) down and we were wrecks that day. The staff were extremely caring and let us take our time with him and we didn’t feel rushed or anything. I was able to hold my dog during the procedure, they got him a big fluffy blanket, and it was a very peaceful death and is was really as good as an experience as you can have during that horrible time. Thanks again!

When we got in and told the woman at the desk she said “this is an emergency”, but went back and checked with the vet to get in. She came back and said she is done in an hour and has “filing” to do. If it wasn’t an emergency that seems fair, but it was a small dog and are a decent amount of chocolate. Wasn’t impressed.

Long story short. In responsible and Scared animal hospital. We brought our cat for neutralization at beginning. They recommended to take 2 times rabies vaccination. After the second time vaccination, staff Cynita Kashivakara told us we need to do another extra 2 shots(it is actually showing at invoice) There will be 4 times of vaccination if I listen to them. She was pretty strong insisting for 4 times shots until I ask her to show me the protocols. She spend 10mins at back and told me their printer wrong and she can not print the protocols. Eventually she was saying "she made mistake and my cat only need 2 vaccination"
Basically, if you are newbie and you just listen what they are telling you. You will spend extra $200 for another 2 extra rabies vaccination, which is really not the issue. The worst things is your pet will OVERDOSE. Your pet will not talk and he/she will suffer overdosing themselves. I ask a solutions from their owner Nash and I did not get anything back. That is why I post this review. Careless hospitals, they want you pay more instead of caring your pet. We don't mind pay more and that's why we brought our cat to hospitals, but you can not make money like THIS!!!

Honestly, we have been here before and enjoyed a good experience. I believe their animal care is fantastic.
That being said, after today we won't be back. We had two back-to-back appointments scheduled for our dogs. We showed up five minutes early and were told that it would be a few minutes.
We sat waiting, and the two people working the front reception area were busy...sniping at one another. I saw three distinct eyerolls, several grimaces and much sarcastic sniping between the two frontline faces of the company. They were making me uncomfortable with their interactions.
As I sat there, another reception person from a different clinic came in to purchase some extra vaccines and neither frontline person knew what to do to help her and proceeded to let us all know. My dog had to be weighed twice, once by each of the receptionists because they had no communication happening.
We were eventually ( now 10 minutes past our time) led into an exam room with hair on the examination table as well as clumps on the floor.
At 23 minutes past our appointment time, i went out to see what was going on and was told it wouln't be long.
A few seconds later the door opened and a receptionist appeared to finally apologize and say it wouldn't be long but they had an emergency.
We won't be back. The unprofessional behavior of frontline staff and the inability to to at least give us the option to rebook when the minutes were passing an acceptable 5-10 in a dirty exam room with 2 animals, 2 grandkids and my spouse and I is enough.

This vet office came into my life when my Sofia Bug was at the end of her life. The care and empathy Dr. MacDonald/McDonald showed during the euthanasia procedure for my Sofia bug (dog) was really outstanding and supportive.
We had to say goodbye to our cat yesterday and due to the distance from Castle Downs to the south, my mom decided to go to another vet clinic.
That was a mistake. Seeing another Doctor perform a euthanasia really enphaized how great Dr.M really was. This other doctor was telling jokes, laughing, and was in and out of the room as she kept forgetting things. She came back in too early when I was saying goodbye to my Stevie as she had thought I had left. She also didn't introduce herself at all.
I regret not seeing Dr. McDonald for the last moments of Stevie Wonder Kitty's life. Thanks Dr. M for showing me what true care looks like.

We brought our dog to Dr. Tan after her being misdiagnosed at the Fort Mcmurray vet clinic. Our dog had been through hell and so had we. They fixed in one day what the Fort McMurray clinic could not figure out in over a week. This Animal Hospital is amazing. Every staff member cared, they were helpful and knew exactly what to do. Besides their outstanding abilities, the pricing at this vet was 4 times less than what we were quoted at another. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone. They saved our baby girls life and we are so grateful. Thank you Dr.Tan and your staff!!

My review of this clinic has no stars at all but made me choose 1 in order to post, we took our baby honey in there because her stomach was swollen the vet says she needs surgery to remove her uterus is full of fluid our baby was 16 years old she was still eating and drinking we were just worried about the swelling, so when he told me that they would operate that night and we could pick her up the next day after work we were so relieve she was going to be alright I asked them to give us a call as soon as the surgery was over which they did around 9 pm they said all went good and she was starting to come out of the anesthetic and we could pick her up tomorrow. Well I tried calling about 6:30 in the morning just to see how she was doing no answer I thought ok maybe they just don't answer the phone until they open the doors so I called again from work after 8 and asked how she was I was put on hold for quite some time then they come back and say ummm yea when we got here this morning she was unresponsive she is gone that's when I had a meltdown at work and left went straight to the clinic they were cold and heartless all they cared about was getting the rest of the money they did not care about our baby being dead and that they killed her it is all money he kept saying you still owe this I had already paid 200 then another 500 we wanted our baby back and did not know what they would do if we didn't even when we asked for the vet to call me and I asked him what happened and why there was no one there his only response was we don't stay here at night she looked stable. My question is why the HELL do you operate at night if there is not gonna be someone there to keep an eye on them anything could happen she would still be here with us if this place actually cared.
Cold Heartless staff that don't know the meaning of caring or love please whatever you do don't take your loved ones to them, We do not want this to happen to another helpless beautiful family member like it did to us they took her away all we have left is ashes.
Please anyone else speak up that is the only way they can be stopped we need to stop them.

I went in to the Edmonton South Animal Hospital last year, when my cat Stanley had an eye infection. The service I received was outstanding! My friend and I had traveled to the clinic via ETS. When we arrived, because we didn't have an appointment, the clinic didn't have an available opening to see a doctor until 5 pm (it was 1 pm). However, they offered to keep him there until then, while I ran errands and was able to come back later that evening. Upon my return, Stanley had been seen, diagnosed and prescribed a proper antibiotic for only approximately $130. One of the best Veterinary services I have ever been to! The staff were very helpful and friendly. A bonus to such a delightful visit was that they offered a follow-up free of charge. Stanley left happy, and made a very speedy recovery. I have recently recommended this clinic to my boyfriend for his pets, and many other friends and family members for theirs as well! Keep up the amazing work!

Awful treatment of our dog. He was not eating before I brought him in, and they said they would feed him but they did not. They didn't give him the booster shot I asked to have done either, until I asked them about it after I had already paid. When he returned home he drank two giant bowls of water (way more than he usually drinks in a whole day) and he wasn't on any medications through the day that could've mace him thirsty so it seems he wasn't watered either. He peed a LOT when he saw me, a little is normal for him when he's that excited, but a lot makes me wonder when he was let out last, if at all. To top it off, they stepped on his foot as they were bringing him out to me, the one that has the wound that I brought him in for in the first place, so it began bleeding all over again. They hadn't cleaned up the blood or pee by the time I pulled out either, which was about 10 min after it happened. I suggest avoiding this place at all costs, they do not seem to care much at all for the animals that are entrusted to then. There was a family that came in all in tears with their dog saying they didn't know what was wrong with him, and they were turned away immediately just as I was leaving too.

Our dog was very sick in Oct, 2016. She had diarrhea and vomiting for 3 or 4 days at home. We took her here to see a vet. The vet seems not very interested when we told her the symptoms. We were so worried about our dog and kept asking what was wrong with her. She said she did not know and said a list of reasons that could be found on Wikipedia. She said we need to do a poo test, deworm the dog and increase weight of my dog (ridiculous, right? after we told her she had diarrhea and vomiting for 4 days). What she did not tell us was it would take a week to get the test results. We forgot to ask, if we knew that we would definitely go to emergency. We spent ~$400 dollars and got 2 pills for deworming, 4 cans of wet food, and one test that will take a week. Two days later, our dog got much worse after having those those things (dewormer and canned wet food). We took her back here again, and this time the vet started worried about my dog and said our dog needs to be hospitalized. But my wife had lost her trust in this vet and decided to go to Gaurdian, an emergency vet hospital. We did not tell the vet we were going to Gaurdian, just said we wanted to leave. The vet seems very angry and said hope to see you again. In Gaurdian, the vet found my dog got a pancreatitis by a 20-minute blood test (that simple). But it was too late. After two days treatment and spending over $3000, my dog still passed away. What I left was 1 dewormer pill, 3 canned wet food (the vet in gaurdian said we definitely should not feed her this because it would stimulate her pancreas). We asked Gaurdian to tell this hospital to never send us the poo test result. And we did not even bother to refund the canned wet food because we do not want to talk with anyone in this hospital any more. What we are angry was not the $400 we spent here. It was that our dog could have been saved if the vet here did not waste our time.

Even with surgery to repair the jaw the cost came in below the highest estimate for the dental. Mind blowing considering vets I have had in the past that alone would double the estimate.

Just phoned them to get an estimate for services and could hardly get a word in edgewise. Jamar (sp?) is so busy giving her spiel she didn't know what I was asking for an estimate /for/ and was more interested in getting my name than getting my question. I had to interrupt her twice to get her to focus on what I was asking, and she was clearly irritated when I told her that next time she shouldn't talk over people quite so much. I don't honestly care what their veterinary qualifications are as the basic necessary listening skills are clearly absent.

She healed so fast and I will not be surprised if she doesn't have a scar from a 5-6 inch incision. I should be surprised, it was a big scar but I am not because you could smell how clean this clinic is. Please don't take my word for it, but give them a call, you won't be disappointed. If i could give them a rating, it would be 9 out of 5. They really go the extra mile. Thank-you ESAH from the bottom of our hearts.

I could tell from the second I called to make an appointment that it's really about your pet's health and safety and not just a quick buck. Knowing my pet was in such good hands made her visits much easier and the courtesy call to check up on my kitty after her surgery was something I'd never even heard of. I was able to keep in touch with one of the vets about my concerns with my cat's healing process the whole way though. I've never felt more secure about leaving my pet with someone else! They are also up front about the charges and very fairly priced. I would highly recommend Edmonton South Animal Hospital to anyone!

We love this Vet! Setting up an appointment is always easy and never a pain. The staff are very welcoming and helpful when it comes to booking an appointment. They do a great job of finding the appointment time that works for you. Our cat Grady has gone in twice for general check up and shots. The Doctors are very friendly and good with him. They are very careful to keep him calm and treat him with love. The doctors have helped us in understanding our cat's behavior and needs. I have been to vet's in the past where they tried to make you feel guilty about how you take care of your pet (Your CAT HAS LOST 10 pounds what the heck are you doing to him!) and this vet didn't do that at all! They were very good at making sure we knew we were doing a good job and they offered suggestions on how we can continue to keep our cat in good health. I love the fact that they will call you back after the appointment or surgery to see how everything is going. After we had our cat "Fixed" the called and I told the Doctor about how my cat loves to eat the household plants and we caught him with leaves in his cone. She laughed at how cute he was and was glad to hear Grady was doing well. Grady has received shots, boosters, exams, micro-chipped, and has been "Fixed" at this clinic and we have had zero complications. They have been really good to us and our cat. I will continue to use this clinic while I live in the Edmonton area. (Also if it's a stressful event for a patient's owner the Keg and Cork liquor store is in the same plaza)

Brought our dog Nico here to have a huge lump on his front leg checked out...I thought the vet would look at it and judge me immediately for not bringing my dog in sooner but no questions were asked (other than those pertaining to Nico's health history) and he even scheduled us in the next day to have it removed. They also performed the services at a much cheaper price than other clinics I've been to in the city. I'm very happy with the care Nico's received in this clinic and highly recommend it to everyone :)

Ive never owned a dog before and the first time I took my dog in to the clinic, the vet tech and veterinarian were very patient with me and answered all my questions and concerns thoroughly. I love that the clinic is very welcoming and that they were able to put this anxious new mom at ease.I took her back to get her boosters vaccines, spay, and microchip. They called me to remind me of my appointment the day before and what preoperative care that was required. The receptionist/tech? went through what was to be expected that day in the surgery and was very nice. When I picked her up, the tech who explained her post op care to me was very thorough and again, answered all the questions I had.What I like is that I never felt rushed during my visits and all my questions were always answered. I have a medical background, so it was nice seeing how knowledgable the staff are, even though there are definite differences between humans and canines! The pricing was also very reasonable.What I wished they did differently, was that I wanted to meet the veterinarian who was going to be performing the spay. I think that is very important to give the owners reassurance and to put a face to the person you are entrusting your pet to.Also, it would be a great idea to let the owners do a quick walk through of the clinic to see where the surgeries are done and where they recover. Just a thought!

I LOVED the staff. I m sure they process lots of dogs but the front desk staff really made me feel that my pups were special. I received a courtesy call as soon as my dog (one went for a spay and the other just shots) was out of surgery. I think my vet was Dr. Mills, he took the time to explain the whole procedure, and talk about my dogs. Pricing wise I did call around to a few vets and they came in about half the cost. Definitely recommended

Ok! I have finally come to leave a review for Dr. Basha and his staff at the Edmonton South Veterinarian Clinic. I have to be honest, I've been stalling for purely selfish reasons! Lol I knew that once I put this review online, everyone is going to want to bring their fur babies here in the future which means longer wait times to get in to see Dr. Basha! I told you! Purely selfish!! But after careful soul-searching I had to bite the bullet and share this gem of a veterinarian and his awesome staff!! We are new to the clinic having just started coming here at the beginning of June. Our girls, Mylie and Hannah are our 9 year old Maltese and Morkie. They both needed a wellness check up, vaccinations, spaying and Hannah had some tumors along her mammary chain that were very alarming and actually turned out to be malignant. We had recently moved and after very careful research into many vet clinics though out Edmonton, we decided on Dr. Basha at Edmonton South. I think we were Divinely guided! So happy with the incredible work Dr. Basha did with both of the girls' surgeries...especially Hannah's...she required 2 surgeries to removed her entire mammary chain...one side at a time. The incision is basically from just below collar bone all the way down to the bottom on each side. If you can believe this, there's barely a scar from both of those surgeries...and Mylie's incision for her spay is almost none existent. They healed quickly and easily and everything Dr. Basha talked to us about was done beautifully. Aside from doing outstanding technical work, Dr. Basha has more bedside manner than a lot of people specialists have and that's very important to us. I can honestly say, we 110% trust Dr. Basha and his staff to look after the girls in whatever way is needed. No questions asked! The prices are very reasonable. Dr. Basha is outstanding...he doesn't get you doing unnecessary tests, etc. and if your little one needs the testing, he explains why. He is there for the animals and you can really tell he loves them! He is at the clinic 6 long work days out of 7 each week, so in case of emergencies, that's important! He's the very first vet I've ever taken my animals to that actually personally calls to explain things thoroughly and discuss any further treatment if necessary. I've never ever had a vet do that! AND, most importantly....the girls love him! (I secretly think he is Cesar Milan's brother... he's got the same way about him with the animals, very cool to watch how he interacts with them and how they respond! :) I have no reservations whatsoever telling anyone to go see Dr. Basha if you want the very best care for your pet. We did and we'll never, ever go anywhere else!! :) Thank you to Dr. Basha and his staff for navigating what turned out to be a wonderful experience at thir clinic and looking after the girls and us so well! :) All the best for a very successful clinic...it won't be long before it's #1 in the city, if it isn't already! :)

I am really surprised by all these positive comments because I experienced a complete different Dr. Tan.
While the front desk staff was friendly and I was able to get an immediate appointment for my senior cat, my actual experience with the Doctor left me with the decision to not return to that clinic.
I am looking for a new place to bring my animals and was hoping for a better experience. The doctor was not friendly to my cat, didn't pet her and was very rough with her when shaving her tail and giving her oral medicine. I expect doctors that work with animals to pet them, hold them, talk to them to try and comfort them. I felt very uneasy as he handled her and I felt unhappy for my 16 year old cat.
He may have been having a bad day but it is not an excuse.
Unfortunately I would not return or reccommend this place to anyone.

I've taken my cats here a few times but we recently got a new puppy and have gone here with him for his last two sets of shots. His last set was a nightmare. When we saw the vet it was a student vet and an an older woman vet. They told me he should get these two shots (benadryl and something else) before his shots to help prevent reactions to the shots because he got bloody diarrhea for like two weeks a few days after his last set of shots. So we did, even though the previous vet we saw about the issue said he probably had a sensitive stomach... So our pup got these shots anyways just in case. Then he got his last set of vaccines and the student did them and poked him SO MANY times because she couldn't get it in and he was crying so much (last time he didnt even notice he was getting them) and she got the vaccine fluid all over him.. the older woman came back in and told her to redo one of them since there was lots on him but not to redo the other she admitted to spilling half of .. So now he has like half a rabies shot.. It was so awful. My poor boy was crying so much. Then they dewormed him (without letting me know first) using a different type of dewormer than he had the last three times and I thought it was only supposed to be two or three doses but this older woman vet said he actually needs it SIX times.. And gave us 3 more doses to take home so he would have been dewormed SEVEN times actually.. just seems excessive. ... And the bill was DOUBLE the cost I was expecting because this new dewormer was so expensive and they didn't even tell me that first. And we were there 1.5 hours!! It shouldn't take that long. And the older vet lectured me that we HAVE to kennel train him, even though we are not wanting to kennel train and I told her that, but she was adament that its the only way. And my poor pup hurts.. for two days after he cried when you pick him up because of how many times they poked him unsuccessfully 😭😭😭 it shouldnt hurt him like that. It was such a nightmare. Please don't go here.

We recently had to put my little guy (dog) down and we were wrecks that day. The staff were extremely caring and let us take our time with him and we didn’t feel rushed or anything. I was able to hold my dog during the procedure, they got him a big fluffy blanket, and it was a very peaceful death and is was really as good as an experience as you can have during that horrible time. Thanks again!

If it wasn’t an emergency that seems fair, but it was a small dog and are a decent amount of chocolate. Wasn’t impressed.

Long story short. In responsible and Scared animal hospital. We brought our cat for neutralization at beginning. They recommended to take 2 times rabies vaccination. After the second time vaccination, staff Cynita Kashivakara told us we need to do another extra 2 shots(it is actually showing at invoice) There will be 4 times of vaccination if I listen to them. She was pretty strong insisting for 4 times shots until I ask her to show me the protocols. She spend 10mins at back and told me their printer wrong and she can not print the protocols. Eventually she was saying "she made mistake and my cat only need 2 vaccination"
Basically, if you are newbie and you just listen what they are telling you. You will spend extra $200 for another 2 extra rabies vaccination, which is really not the issue. The worst things is your pet will OVERDOSE. Your pet will not talk and he/she will suffer overdosing themselves. I ask a solutions from their owner Nash and I did not get anything back. That is why I post this review. Careless hospitals, they want you pay more instead of caring your pet. We don't mind pay more and that's why we brought our cat to hospitals, but you can not make money like THIS!!!

Honestly, we have been here before and enjoyed a good experience. I believe their animal care is fantastic.
That being said, after today we won't be back. We had two back-to-back appointments scheduled for our dogs. We showed up five minutes early and were told that it would be a few minutes.
We sat waiting, and the two people working the front reception area were busy...sniping at one another. I saw three distinct eyerolls, several grimaces and much sarcastic sniping between the two frontline faces of the company. They were making me uncomfortable with their interactions.
As I sat there, another reception person from a different clinic came in to purchase some extra vaccines and neither frontline person knew what to do to help her and proceeded to let us all know. My dog had to be weighed twice, once by each of the receptionists because they had no communication happening.
We were eventually ( now 10 minutes past our time) led into an exam room with hair on the examination table as well as clumps on the floor.
At 23 minutes past our appointment time, i went out to see what was going on and was told it wouln't be long.
A few seconds later the door opened and a receptionist appeared to finally apologize and say it wouldn't be long but they had an emergency.
We won't be back. The unprofessional behavior of frontline staff and the inability to to at least give us the option to rebook when the minutes were passing an acceptable 5-10 in a dirty exam room with 2 animals, 2 grandkids and my spouse and I is enough.

This vet office came into my life when my Sofia Bug was at the end of her life. The care and empathy Dr. MacDonald/McDonald showed during the euthanasia procedure for my Sofia bug (dog) was really outstanding and supportive.
We had to say goodbye to our cat yesterday and due to the distance from Castle Downs to the south, my mom decided to go to another vet clinic.
That was a mistake. Seeing another Doctor perform a euthanasia really enphaized how great Dr.M really was. This other doctor was telling jokes, laughing, and was in and out of the room as she kept forgetting things. She came back in too early when I was saying goodbye to my Stevie as she had thought I had left. She also didn't introduce herself at all.
I regret not seeing Dr. McDonald for the last moments of Stevie Wonder Kitty's life. Thanks Dr. M for showing me what true care looks like.

They fixed in one day what the Fort McMurray clinic could not figure out in over a week. This Animal Hospital is amazing. Every staff member cared, they were helpful and knew exactly what to do. Besides their outstanding abilities, the pricing at this vet was 4 times less than what we were quoted at another. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone. They saved our baby girls life and we are so grateful. Thank you Dr.Tan and your staff!!

My review of this clinic has no stars at all but made me choose 1 in order to post, we took our baby honey in there because her stomach was swollen the vet says she needs surgery to remove her uterus is full of fluid our baby was 16 years old she was still eating and drinking we were just worried about the swelling, so when he told me that they would operate that night and we could pick her up the next day after work we were so relieve she was going to be alright I asked them to give us a call as soon as the surgery was over which they did around 9 pm they said all went good and she was starting to come out of the anesthetic and we could pick her up tomorrow. Well I tried calling about 6:30 in the morning just to see how she was doing no answer I thought ok maybe they just don't answer the phone until they open the doors so I called again from work after 8 and asked how she was I was put on hold for quite some time then they come back and say ummm yea when we got here this morning she was unresponsive she is gone that's when I had a meltdown at work and left went straight to the clinic they were cold and heartless all they cared about was getting the rest of the money they did not care about our baby being dead and that they killed her it is all money he kept saying you still owe this I had already paid 200 then another 500 we wanted our baby back and did not know what they would do if we didn't even when we asked for the vet to call me and I asked him what happened and why there was no one there his only response was we don't stay here at night she looked stable. My question is why the HELL do you operate at night if there is not gonna be someone there to keep an eye on them anything could happen she would still be here with us if this place actually cared.
Cold Heartless staff that don't know the meaning of caring or love please whatever you do don't take your loved ones to them, We do not want this to happen to another helpless beautiful family member like it did to us they took her away all we have left is ashes.
Please anyone else speak up that is the only way they can be stopped we need to stop them.

I went in to the Edmonton South Animal Hospital last year, when my cat Stanley had an eye infection. The service I received was outstanding! My friend and I had traveled to the clinic via ETS. When we arrived, because we didn't have an appointment, the clinic didn't have an available opening to see a doctor until 5 pm (it was 1 pm). However, they offered to keep him there until then, while I ran errands and was able to come back later that evening. Upon my return, Stanley had been seen, diagnosed and prescribed a proper antibiotic for only approximately $130. One of the best Veterinary services I have ever been to! The staff were very helpful and friendly. A bonus to such a delightful visit was that they offered a follow-up free of charge. Stanley left happy, and made a very speedy recovery. I have recently recommended this clinic to my boyfriend for his pets, and many other friends and family members for theirs as well! Keep up the amazing work!

Awful treatment of our dog. He was not eating before I brought him in, and they said they would feed him but they did not. They didn't give him the booster shot I asked to have done either, until I asked them about it after I had already paid. When he returned home he drank two giant bowls of water (way more than he usually drinks in a whole day) and he wasn't on any medications through the day that could've mace him thirsty so it seems he wasn't watered either. He peed a LOT when he saw me, a little is normal for him when he's that excited, but a lot makes me wonder when he was let out last, if at all. To top it off, they stepped on his foot as they were bringing him out to me, the one that has the wound that I brought him in for in the first place, so it began bleeding all over again. They hadn't cleaned up the blood or pee by the time I pulled out either, which was about 10 min after it happened. I suggest avoiding this place at all costs, they do not seem to care much at all for the animals that are entrusted to then. There was a family that came in all in tears with their dog saying they didn't know what was wrong with him, and they were turned away immediately just as I was leaving too.

Our dog was very sick in Oct, 2016. She had diarrhea and vomiting for 3 or 4 days at home. We took her here to see a vet. The vet seems not very interested when we told her the symptoms. We were so worried about our dog and kept asking what was wrong with her. She said she did not know and said a list of reasons that could be found on Wikipedia. She said we need to do a poo test, deworm the dog and increase weight of my dog (ridiculous, right? after we told her she had diarrhea and vomiting for 4 days). What she did not tell us was it would take a week to get the test results. We forgot to ask, if we knew that we would definitely go to emergency. We spent ~$400 dollars and got 2 pills for deworming, 4 cans of wet food, and one test that will take a week. Two days later, our dog got much worse after having those those things (dewormer and canned wet food). We took her back here again, and this time the vet started worried about my dog and said our dog needs to be hospitalized. But my wife had lost her trust in this vet and decided to go to Gaurdian, an emergency vet hospital. We did not tell the vet we were going to Gaurdian, just said we wanted to leave. The vet seems very angry and said hope to see you again. In Gaurdian, the vet found my dog got a pancreatitis by a 20-minute blood test (that simple). But it was too late. After two days treatment and spending over $3000, my dog still passed away. What I left was 1 dewormer pill, 3 canned wet food (the vet in gaurdian said we definitely should not feed her this because it would stimulate her pancreas). We asked Gaurdian to tell this hospital to never send us the poo test result. And we did not even bother to refund the canned wet food because we do not want to talk with anyone in this hospital any more. What we are angry was not the $400 we spent here. It was that our dog could have been saved if the vet here did not waste our time.

My 6yr old dog needed a dental cleaning. They discovered at one point recently he broke his jaw! My dog had never shown any signs of discomfort or symptoms. Even with surgery to repair the jaw the cost came in below the highest estimate for the dental. Mind blowing considering vets I have had in the past that alone would double the estimate.

Just phoned them to get an estimate for services and could hardly get a word in edgewise. Jamar (sp?) is so busy giving her spiel she didn't know what I was asking for an estimate /for/ and was more interested in getting my name than getting my question. I had to interrupt her twice to get her to focus on what I was asking, and she was clearly irritated when I told her that next time she shouldn't talk over people quite so much. I don't honestly care what their veterinary qualifications are as the basic necessary listening skills are clearly absent.

They take care of everyone from animal to client, bending over backwards for customers and animals. Our Leia had a more complex surgery that required the attention she received. She healed so fast and I will not be surprised if she doesn't have a scar from a 5-6 inch incision. I should be surprised, it was a big scar but I am not because you could smell how clean this clinic is. Please don't take my word for it, but give them a call, you won't be disappointed. If i could give them a rating, it would be 9 out of 5. They really go the extra mile. Thank-you ESAH from the bottom of our hearts.

I can't imagine ever taking my pets anywhere else. The level of care they provide is astounding. I could tell from the second I called to make an appointment that it's really about your pet's health and safety and not just a quick buck. Knowing my pet was in such good hands made her visits much easier and the courtesy call to check up on my kitty after her surgery was something I'd never even heard of. I was able to keep in touch with one of the vets about my concerns with my cat's healing process the whole way though. I've never felt more secure about leaving my pet with someone else! They are also up front about the charges and very fairly priced. I would highly recommend Edmonton South Animal Hospital to anyone!

We love this Vet! Setting up an appointment is always easy and never a pain. The staff are very welcoming and helpful when it comes to booking an appointment. They do a great job of finding the appointment time that works for you. Our cat Grady has gone in twice for general check up and shots. The Doctors are very friendly and good with him. They are very careful to keep him calm and treat him with love. The doctors have helped us in understanding our cat's behavior and needs. I have been to vet's in the past where they tried to make you feel guilty about how you take care of your pet (Your CAT HAS LOST 10 pounds what the heck are you doing to him!) and this vet didn't do that at all! They were very good at making sure we knew we were doing a good job and they offered suggestions on how we can continue to keep our cat in good health. I love the fact that they will call you back after the appointment or surgery to see how everything is going. After we had our cat "Fixed" the called and I told the Doctor about how my cat loves to eat the household plants and we caught him with leaves in his cone. She laughed at how cute he was and was glad to hear Grady was doing well. Grady has received shots, boosters, exams, micro-chipped, and has been "Fixed" at this clinic and we have had zero complications. They have been really good to us and our cat. I will continue to use this clinic while I live in the Edmonton area. (Also if it's a stressful event for a patient's owner the Keg and Cork liquor store is in the same plaza)

Brought our dog Nico here to have a huge lump on his front leg checked out...I thought the vet would look at it and judge me immediately for not bringing my dog in sooner but no questions were asked (other than those pertaining to Nico's health history) and he even scheduled us in the next day to have it removed. They also performed the services at a much cheaper price than other clinics I've been to in the city. I'm very happy with the care Nico's received in this clinic and highly recommend it to everyone :)

Ive never owned a dog before and the first time I took my dog in to the clinic, the vet tech and veterinarian were very patient with me and answered all my questions and concerns thoroughly. I love that the clinic is very welcoming and that they were able to put this anxious new mom at ease.I took her back to get her boosters vaccines, spay, and microchip. They called me to remind me of my appointment the day before and what preoperative care that was required. The receptionist/tech? went through what was to be expected that day in the surgery and was very nice. When I picked her up, the tech who explained her post op care to me was very thorough and again, answered all the questions I had.What I like is that I never felt rushed during my visits and all my questions were always answered. I have a medical background, so it was nice seeing how knowledgable the staff are, even though there are definite differences between humans and canines! The pricing was also very reasonable.What I wished they did differently, was that I wanted to meet the veterinarian who was going to be performing the spay. I think that is very important to give the owners reassurance and to put a face to the person you are entrusting your pet to.Also, it would be a great idea to let the owners do a quick walk through of the clinic to see where the surgeries are done and where they recover. Just a thought!

I LOVED the staff. I m sure they process lots of dogs but the front desk staff really made me feel that my pups were special. I received a courtesy call as soon as my dog (one went for a spay and the other just shots) was out of surgery. I think my vet was Dr. Mills, he took the time to explain the whole procedure, and talk about my dogs. Pricing wise I did call around to a few vets and they came in about half the cost. Definitely recommended
