Dr. Palmer has been our vet for over a decade. He is great with our German Shepherds. Vets in the past insisted on muzzling the GS during an exam. Dr. Palmer does not, instead he takes the time to talk to the dog making the dog feel comfortable. Prevention through education and intervention when necessary is what Dr. Palmer does. The patient is the animal and he is very throughout. His passion for healthy family pets can he experienced with is enthusiasm for pet owners to adopt 'best practices' for their loved companions. I took my sweet dog in for a teeth cleaning, and the older vet took 10 teeth. The week after, my dog wouldn't eat at all. I returned and he gave her an enema stating that she had so much pain from air in her stomach. She continued to not eat and they did e-rays and gave her meds to stop her stomach ache, but she still would not eat. I got spoken to by the elder extremely rudely, telling me that she was full of poop so I must be feeding her, and then told how to feed my 12 year old dog. He also told me that they would not treat her again for this. She still is not eating, and must take her to a new vet because of his incompetency. Do not take your loves here!! Read Less

We had a medical emergency with our cat Norman. It was on a Saturday and our regular vet couldn’t see us until Monday. I called North Edmonton Animal Hospital and they took us in within an hour. Norm had a blockage and was unable to urinate. We were dreading the prognosis and the inevitable cost of emergency treatment. Dr Parmar came outside in the cold to discuss Norm’s condition and gave us a flat rate quote for treatment that was very reasonable. He was very kind and explained everything in detail. It was obvious that the doctor had a genuine love of animals and was not going to take advantage of our situation (as we’ve experienced in other emergency situations with our pets). Norm is doing good, still under the care of the clinic. His prognosis is looking very good. We’ve been seeing our current vet for over twenty five years but are considering switching over. Read Less

I have never met anyone ruder than the male vet in that clinic. Its such a horrible place that my dog refused to to in the second time and was barking at him. They gave my dog medicine that should not be placed on his skin when he had a skin problem......don't go Read Less

Been going here for almost 10 years. Has always been great. Dr Parmar has saved our cat on one occasion, and was able to figure out her allergy problems as well. He has always been more than fair with his fees. I suspect some of the negative reviews could perhaps be chalked up to language barrier. Read Less

Everything was done perfictly with all the right information I needed to know about further treatments or other appointments to be booked. All the girls are "AAA" standard but the doctor is awesome deffenetly give him props to help my cause. Happy faces and accurate info . Dr. Parmar is a very creepy vet. He came on to me and was not settle at all about it. I had to leave in disgust and honestly very weary about trusting another vet because of this experience. For anyone who sees this review, yes I have contacted the authorities and the matter is being investigated because this is not ok in any professional practise.Read Less

I was a bit put off by the lecture I received about "If you adopt a pet it's now your responsibility to pay for his health no matter what is wrong. I don't like it when someone adopts and the health costs are too much and you euthanize them. You have to pay no matter what." Though I agree to a point with what the Vet said this was my first visit with my kitten whom I had for one day who had a cold - it felt unwarranted and unnecessary. Maybe this is something this particular vet feels he needs to go over with all new clients? (Which could very likely be and is a sad fact.) His lecture, though, I think to some people will come across more so as a grab at money to treat everything "no matter what". He prescribed my cat antibiotics - the tests he performed were looking at his eyes and ears, taking his temperature and listening to his breathing and heart. Not sure I'll return to this clinic. I have had Dr Parmar as my vet for 11 years and he is the most amazing vet I have had. He has taken such exceptional care of all my pets, his compassion for animals knows no bounds and he goes over and above his job. It's selfish but I hope he keeps working a long time to come great man wonderful staff and my animals are happy and healthy. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!! Walked in for the first time coming to this clinic for an appointment and the entire clinic REAKED of an awful smell. As I waited up front there was no staff coming out. I assume it was maybe a busy day and they were just preoccupied but as I waited, and waited, and waited I kept seeing shadows in the glass door that leads to the back of girls just standing there chatting and laughing.... As I wait in the lobby for almost a whole 20 minutes without even being acknowledged I then said out loud "Hello?" To see about starting my appointment because now we are cutting into the time of when the dr was originally supposed to see me and my cat.... A girl came out in a very rude tone asking my name and what I'm here for. Like shouldn't there be better service than that..??? After getting my information she led me into a room that was not even clean. There were vaccines viles and needles on the table, cat treats everywhere and hair all over the place. The room to say the least was a disgusting mess!!!!!!! She took my cat out of the carrier to weigh him on the scale then put him back in his carrier and took him out to the back of the clinic with her just leaving me in the room without a word, I was confused at that point. After a few minutes she returned my cat in his carrier to me and said she would meet me up front. I guess they did the vaccines and dewormer in the back but I at least thought the vet would come in and do an exam and talk with me... I have owned multiple cats in the past and this is the first time my cat went to the back and I never met the vet. Before leaving the room I looked at my cat who is a very laid back cat was very scared and his hair was standing up and I was extremely mad to what I saw!!! There was dewormer ALL over his face, chest, and back! My thoughts were was it even administrated???? I was not ready to pay because I just got a very bad feeling, and I told that to the receptionist that I am worried my cat was not given the vaccines and dewormer. Dr.Parmar who is the vet at the clinic didn't like to hear that and he came out and started yelling at me! I payed because I just wanted to get out of there but trust me I WILL NEVER EVER go back to Dr. Parmar. Worst vet experience EVER!!!!!! This is the worst vet clinic I have ever been to. The vet is super unprofessional, all he talks about is money and that he is the cheapest vet clinic in Edmonton. I personally do not think he has a clue what he is talking about, he does not sound educated about his practise what so ever..... He doesn't even have a registered or licensed tech to help him and he has his receptionists playing the part. The receptionists also have no clue what is going on and are stuck up. Will never bring my dog back here even for just a simple straight forward exam and vaccinations. There are plenty better vet clinics in Edmonton to go to. Do not go here!! Read Less

My dog was not doing well as she had not been eating for a few days and was limping at random times. Went to see the vet and she happened not to be limping at that time. But I knew something was wrong as we always told each others as a joke in my family that if she was not eating anymore that meant something was really wrong. She loved eating. The vet said she looked fine and did not do any tests or even checked her vital signs even if I told him I knew she was not ok. All that nothing for $70.00. A few days later she started getting worst so we went to Vet Emerg and they checked her vital signs and knew right away something was wrong. They brought her to the back, made some blood test and told us it was her liver that was failing. She was in too much pain, we could not bring her back home and had to put her down that same day. I am still devastated about it and really mad at the Vet for not checking her properly. We could have saved her as she still had a few years ahead of her. I do not recommend this place to anyone, ever.Read Less
