We switched to this vet about 8-month ago for our 2 Chow Chows for a variety of reasons. Dr. Foster has been exceptional. He is dedicated to the health of our dogs and they respond well to his quiet disposition. What I also appreciate is he does not nickel and dime you through the visit. Really a great place and happy our neighbours recommended him!

I just called the clinic to book an appointment for my 2 cats for general check up. We used to go to South side Animal hospital before when they were adopted 3 years ago and moved to this clinic last year because of the issue we had with the previous clinic.
When I brought in one of my cats last year for her health issue for the first time, I had already completed the form they asked me for changing clinic. The signed form was required so that health information of our cats will be transferred from there to here. So, that was done since then.
You know what happened when I called them just now, the staff who answered the phone (I know her name), said that I need to sign up the form and also call the previous clinic myself so that they will get the health records of my cats from the South Side Animal Hospital...what's that??? I had done that long ago...and completed the process. Only then she asked me to hold the phone and returned after 2 mins saying that I was right. She found out (only then) they have all the records of my cats.
So, the doctor may be super, but this kind of irresponsible staff who had no knowledge about their client (pets) is intolerable and unacceptable. She really gave me heart attack.
The manager of the clinic should train the staff and make sure they are responsible and have sufficient knowledge on checking medical records of the pets.

Dr. Travis Foster is second to none! I have 2 pets that get care at this clinic. I switched from a local vet clinic that I had been using when the food they recommended for my cat, Cruz, ruined his beautiful and luxurious coat: it almost immediately became full of mats. At my request, the MacTaggart clinic performed a sedated shave on him, and I returned him to his previous, but nutritional, dry cat food and his coat has been thick and beautiful again since! The MacTaggart staff were very good to my boy, and I was so impressed and grateful that I moved my pet files to MacTaggart permanently! Since then, the services they have provided have included: dietary support, regular immunizations and annual exams, treatment of some UTI's and one fairly emergent surgery for my girl, Morgan. I trust Travis implicitly with my animals. My cats are both rescues, and Morgan is very timid. Travis always gets "happy paws" from Morgan, and he is the only vet she has ever seen that she purrs consistently for. He is caring, gentle and treats animals at their pace. I have had my animals at this clinic for a few years now, despite living no less than 30 minutes away. I will absolutely continue to travel for this quality of service and animal care! I called to get my dog's records over the phone for my pet insurance provider and the receptionist, Tina, seemed to be having a very bad day. She was very short with me, and huffed when I asked questions as though I was a huge inconvenience to her. I had to repeat the email address several times to send the records to, and when she repeated it back it was not right, every time. She got frustrated with me saying that she would just look it up. I am also a receptionist, and I speak clearly. I work at an office where we have a high standard of customer service and was most definitely unimpressed with her attitude. Unfortunately for the rest of the team at this vet clinic, because of her, I would never go back after being treated that way.

Dr. Foster has always been fantastic to my kitty and the foster kitties I bring in. He spends time with you and goes through everything and even follows up with you in a few days. In short he truly cares about the wellbeing of your animals. His staff are always so friendly as well. I recently got a follow up call from one of the vet techs and she spent a good 20 mins on the phone with me seeing how my cat was doing and teaching/suggesting new food options that were specific to my cats needs. The best vet that I have been to by far!

My dog hates the vet but loves Dr. Foster and staff. I would trust them implicitly with the health of my dog.The best thing about him and his clinic: they CALL you to CHECK UP ON YOUR PET! They legitimately care! Every time I call the clinic they are beyond sympathetic, helpful & kind and very flexible with last minute appointments. I can not speak enough for how amazing this clinic is and would recommend them hands down. Good job!

I went in there with my cat that was in very bad shape I asked if I could see him without an appointment because it was an emergency . The receptionist went to ask him even though he was just in his office and not even with a client he got her to come and tell me if I want to wait he can try and get to me I told her my cat was in bad shape and needed to be seen right away she just said sorry then he walked out of his office and didn't even look at me or say anything and just walked to the back. The receptionist then said why don't you go to the emergency vet I told her because its 20 minutes away and this was right by my house then she just gave me a look like oh well so I got up and left . My cat ended up dying right when we got to the other vet. I think the least he could have done was come out and seen if he could do anything he had a dying animal in his office and refused to do anything does that seem like a good vet to you ???

Dr. Travis Foster is second to none! I have 2 pets that get care at this clinic. I switched from a local vet clinic that I had been using when the food they recommended for my cat, Cruz, ruined his beautiful and luxurious coat: it almost immediately became full of mats. I love Dr. Foster - I wish I could find a people doctor like him!I have taken my dog to him numerous times for various things (regular visits, pulled tendons, vaccinations etc) and he is always so kind and gentle. My dog hates the vet but loves Dr. Foster and staff. I would trust them implicitly with the health of my dog.The best thing about him and his clinic: they CALL you to CHECK UP ON YOUR PET! They legitimately care! Every time I call the clinic they are beyond sympathetic, helpful & kind and very flexible with last minute appointments. I can not speak enough for how amazing this clinic is and would recommend them hands down. Good job!

I went in there with my cat that was in very bad shape I asked if I could see him without an appointment because it was an emergency . The receptionist went to ask him even though he was just in his office and not even with a client he got her to come and tell me if I want to wait he can try and get to me I told her my cat was in bad shape and needed to be seen right away she just said sorry then he walked out of his office and didn't even look at me or say anything and just walked to the back. The receptionist then said why don't you go to the emergency vet I told her because its 20 minutes away and this was right by my house then she just gave me a look like oh well so I got up and left . My cat ended up dying right when we got to the other vet. I think the least he could have done was come out and seen if he could do anything he had a dying animal in his office and refused to do anything does that seem like a good vet to you ???

I am very happy with my decision to move my dogs over to Mactaggart!!! Grizzly and Kodiak got to keep there favourite doctor as well Ebony is one happy girl when she goes in!! Dr.Foster is very thorough, always knows what is best for my fur babies and will go over and beyond for them. Very happy with Dr.Foster and all the staff at mactaggart; I will continue to take my dogs to him and will Recommend Mactaggart to my family and friends!

We love Dr Foster and wouldn't trust the health of our pets to anyone else. I'd recommend him to all pet owners. He has been our vet for 8 years and we've only the highest praise for him and his staff...
