Our family switched vets last year as we felt that before being recommended to Northgate Vet Hospital, every time we took one of our small dogs in with a concern, the bill was $500 or more. Our family understands the obligations that come along with having pets and takes care of all our our pets. Since switching to Northgate Vet Hospital, the care and attention of our pets has increased, and the prices have decreased. The vets are very experienced and. Further, the vets and staff are very friendly and helpful. Today when I took our dogs in with a concern, not only were the concerns addressed, but the vet also treated it as the dogs' annual check up which was due next month. That meant that our dogs had a good thorough check up, and our family paid to have the concerns addressed while also having a check up. That felt fair to our pocket book. Read Less

I absolutely love this Vet. The ladies at the front desk go above and beyond in customer service. They even babysat my 7mo. puppy today while I picked up my son from school...WOW! Dr. Jackson is so kind and gentle, I love the calming energy she displays. She is a very down to earth Doctor and answered all my questions in Laymans terms which I greatly appreciate. Brought our adopted guinea pig for a general check up (potential diabetes). Both visits were excellent as staff handled our family member well. Dr. Nikiforuk was knowledgeable and gentle in handling Jasper. The fees were not bad, I was a bit surprised that I didnt have to pay more than 50$ for each visit as other clinics would charge twice the said amount. I would recommend this clinic esp to families with exotic pets. Im glad we went to this clinic the first time. :) Read Less

I love Dr. Jackson! I took my mini poodle in for his scratching and itching. It turned out it was the venison treats I was giving him. The doctor gave him a complete checkup. I would give this vet 0 stars if I could. I took my dog here because I noticed he was dripping pee uncontrollably around the house. She said that he has urinary incontinence and that he will have to take medication for the rest of his life that cost $75 approx every 3 months. They didn't have the medicine and I had to wait 3 days till it comes in. 4 days later I called them 3 times because they didn't call me back about the medicine to find out at the end of the day they didn't have it yet. After I got it I noticed it helped but didn't work and called them about raising the dose and NEVER got a call back. I decided to switch to a vet who is rated 5 stars. He told me to stop giving him medication because it will cause him stomach damage from containing hormones for females. Even says on the bottle it's for spayed bitches. That he is a mid aged dog (4) and you only see urinary incontinence in males when they're over 10. This vet then immediately wanted to do an X-ray for translucent kidney stones, nothing came up but noticed he had an infection in the bladder. (Northgate veterinary hospital done a urine test on him and for some reason couldn't pick it up) so my dog had to take antibiotics for 10 days. Still dripping. We do an ultrasound on my dog later to find out he has prostate cancer, 3 months after I went to this vet when this vet could have done it themselves. They had to elongate the problem and maybe even kill my dog. I am not happy with this facility. Disgusted if anything. Goes to show how much these people care about your animals. Thank goodness I switched to Castledowns veterinary clinic. Dr lee got down to the problem to catch it as fast as he can, showing that he really cares about my dog and other animals. I would never recommend anyone to take their pet to northgate veterinary hospital. It's just a money grab. Read Less

I take my guinea pigs here and have had good experiences so far. The staff are super friendly on the phone and in person, and they have a nice kitty that lives there. The vet was good in helping my pigs stay calm during their appointments and she answered all my questions. Like in the other review, they don't push products and seem to truly want what's best for your pet! Read Less

I love this clinic. They were the vet for my beloved German Shepard her whole life, and were with us when we had to put her down. They are very understanding and you can tell they have a genuine love for animals. I now bring my Husky cross and miniature dachshund there, and the staff are great with big or small dogs. I can always count on them in an emergency to be attentive, courteous and supportive. I have gone to other vets and would definitely say Northgate is by far the best. Read Less

I took my dog and cat to this clinic for their regular checkup and vaccinations in July, and we saw Doctor Jackson. She was quite personable, both with myself and my animals. She was good with my cat, who is skittish outside the home. She explained things well, and didn't push many unnecessary procedures or in-house products on me. She helped me get my dog on a food trial to try and find the cause of her recurring ear infections, and helped me determine a feeding schedule for my cat.Unfortunately, one of the women I dealt with at the front desk was not very considerate or friendly as she set me up to pay my bill and set recheck appointments. Not the best impression to leave a person with.Despite that, I was overall very happy with my experience there. Aside from that one woman, the staff were all quite friendly, the prices I paid were fairly reasonable, and the clinic is small enough that I don't have to wait too long to see the vet. I will likely continue to use this clinic as my regular vet. Read Less
