Great service at Parkwest Pet Clinic! Several years ago when we were first searching for a vet clinic it was due to such positive reviews for Parkwest that we decided to try it out when we got our first pet ever, 7 years ago.
The vets are wonderful and the staff at the desk have always been so nice and always informative!
I have never written a review before but was compelled to do so because I am so happy with their service.
I especially have to give an extra special compliment to Karen, one of Parkwest’s front line staff at the desk. She is AMAZING. I was quite nervous for one of our upcoming appointments at the vet clinic when we first started attending Parkwest due to a concern in my ability to pick up our dog on time due to an unexpected conflict. My daughter had dropped off our dog earlier, but I was the only one who could pick up our puppy that day.
Karen was so kind and helpful, she assured me that everything would be fine if I was running late, and that our dog, Jesse, would be well cared for until I could reach the clinic. She made me feel much, much less stressed and she let me know that this was not an inconvenience and that I should come when I could safely reach the clinic and not rush and cause myself undue stress. She was an angel, and my stress was immediately alleviated knowing that the clinic understood my situation and that Jesse was not going to be seen as a nuisance or problem.
Since then I have had the pleasure of having Karen help me with many other questions, concerns and appointments. Karen is kind and extremely informative and I am always so comfortable when I speak with her, this is a huge plus because for me customer service is everything. Karen’s kindness, outstanding knowledge and wonderful sense of humour is very much appreciated! For me she is the face of Parkwest Pet Clinic.
We do not live close to the clinic but I have to say that one of the main reasons that I have not switched locations is in large part due to Karen’s incredible warmth, her attentiveness, patience and special way of dealing with people. Karen is in large part why we will continue to to drive out of the way to bring our pets here! Parkwest is amazing because of their expertise and especially because of their incredible staff.

Update: My dog had a large tumour on his nose and the vet carefully removed it and called me as soon as he was awake and alert. The vet technicians carefully went through aftercare and what to watch for. We were concerned about the size of the tumour but Dr. L did a fantastic job! Would recommend this vet for large operations and for just check ups. They really care about our animals and us as owners. Fantastic crew!!

My dog had a problem that was only getting worse. After meeting with Dr. Finyak, he correctly diagnosed the problem, explained my options, and eventually recommended the proper treatment.
My dog is doing much better now, thanks to Dr. Finyak. My dog and I are very fortunate to have crossed paths with him.
Dr. Finyak is a very caring and compassionate person, and possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of veterinary medicine.

I have had pets over the last 35 years, and over that time I've been to many differnt vets, and Parkwest is by far the best.
They truely care about animals at Parkwest.
Some of the other vets I've been to only care about money, and manipulate your love for your pet to get as much money as possible and do as little as possible. These vets give the others a bad name.
Parkwest has done a lot of work at no charge or a reduced rate for me, because I've had to come in so often due to the problems some of my pets have had in the passed. They do excellent work and are very gentle, and are the only vet I would recommend.
So if your family pet is every in need of medical attention, and you want the best veterinarian go to Parkwest.

What can we say? Dr. Petrut and his very capable and friendly staff are the best we have ever dealt with. At a time when our ageing Cocker Spaniel, Sherlock, needed emergency care they were there to help us above and beyond what was expected. We had sought help previously from an "emergency" clinic a couple of weeks beforehand only to be met with very high priced services that did not help Sherlock in the least. Finally we took him to see Dr. Petrut, and the care we received was beyond exceptional. He took the time to explain everything that was happening to our beloved pet, and made us feel that whatever decision we made he would support it. Finally, we made the right decision for our pet, which was euthanasia...not an easy decision to make, but with the compassion and caring demonstrated by Dr. Petrut and his staff, especially Karen on reception, it was a lot less painful for our pet and us. I would highly recommend Parkwest Vet to anyone who is looking for a caring, compassionate veterinarian.

Parkwest vet clinic offers the best care for your pets. I have been taking my two small dogs to Parkwest for years, and have never experienced such professional and caring service for my dogs. All the staff are passionate about caring for animals and are equally kind and patient with the owners.
Nothing is done to/for your pet without a full explanation, and options are always carefully laid out. I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough.

The staff were all very friendly and professional.Our vet was very knowledgable. He asked lots of questions and did a thorough exam of our cat. Gave recommendations of future needs but was very honest as to what was and wasn't needed. We felt confident that he was not trying to sell services of they were not needed.I had booked in only a few days before our appointment. We really appreciate that we were able to get in on short notice. We will be back. Also they get bonus points for having a signed picture of Patrick Swayze on display! Haha

Just amazing. I called in last night just before they closed and they set up an appointment for my pooch this morning. She had a cyst that had burst. Dr. Petrut was so great with my dog. He removed the cyst in no time and had her stapled up and bandaged in less than 30 minutes. He took the time to talk to her and give her some treats during the procedure. He explained exactly what would happen with the follow up and what I'd need to do. They were just awesome. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I'm so glad I chose Parkwest to take my fur baby. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet or looking to make a change. Thanks so much for taking care of my girl!!

After finding out our regular vet is closed on Saturday and having some concerns about our dog that couldn't wait until Monday, we called around to several clinics in the city. Park West was the only one that would squeeze her in, despite being booked up.I'm glad we happened upon this clinic, because the vet was amazing. Dr. Finyak was extremely thorough with his examination if our dog and explained everything he was doing step by step. At no point did we feel like he was in a hurry and he took lots of time to answer our questions, even those that weren't particularly about the health issue at hand.We had the results of the tests within 15 minutes, and Dr. Finyak came up with a treatment plan for our dog and showed us how to administer the meds successfully.Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed by the quality of care, attentiveness and affordability of Park West. Although it's significantly further from the clinics nearest to our house, I think we might just switch over to Park West as our primary vet. It's hard to find this quality of service in the city!

My new adopted boy needed to be check up and vaccination. After Yelping around this time, I finally went to Park West Pet Clinic.Dr. Lorand Finyak was my puppy Dr. He is a young Dr. with a European accent, Very pleasant and patient, he had the time to explain the whole well being of my puppy and give advised how to look out for symptoms of sick dog.The completed check up and vaccination price very reasonable. One thing Dr. Finyak assure me that after vaccination if any reaction to the drugs, bring the dog back to them (hope never happens), and he will take all care with no extra charge. We (puppy and mom) love this place we will see him next year!

We have a French Bulldog/Boston Terrier mix. She has had serious skin conditions for quite some time now. Back in Toronto vets wanted thousands of dollars to do cytology, histology, skin scrappings,etc. They refused to do anything such as allergy tests,etc. After looking up various vets, we found Parkwest Pet Clinic. When we went in the establishment had the odor of freshly mopped with bleach. It was VERY open and not cluttered with various items for sale,etc.After a couple minutes of looking around we were greeted by Dr. John Petrut. We discussed our dogs situation and inquired about scheduling an appointment,etc. At this point Dr. Petrut invited us to the exam room and showed us an example of a pet allergy test. He let us ask all types of questions and gave us sound logical answers. He even allowed me to show him photo's of our dog and he gave his professional opinion based on that.Back in Toronto the vets would refuse to look at pictures, talk,etc. They would do nothing without us paying them to look at the dog. When we did that they also basically threw their hands up an said: "It could be anything, pay us more to do tests and we can pin point it."Our dog is scheduled for her first visit on Feb 1st and we plan to make Parkwest Pet Clinic our go to, for all our veterinary needs.

I can not say enough good about Parkwest pet clinic in Edmonton not only have they quoted me close to 700$ less than my previous vet, they didnt charge me anything to have my dogs tooth looked at and to give me a quote. Then today when I call to see when they have openings the receptionist offers to pick up my dog and then drive him home after cause she knew I didnt drive. WOW WOW WOW.

Karen is kind and extremely informative and I am always so comfortable when I speak with her, this is a huge plus because for me customer service is everything. Karen’s kindness, outstanding knowledge and wonderful sense of humour is very much appreciated! For me she is the face of Parkwest Pet Clinic.
We do not live close to the clinic but I have to say that one of the main reasons that I have not switched locations is in large part due to Karen’s incredible warmth, her attentiveness, patience and special way of dealing with people. Karen is in large part why we will continue to to drive out of the way to bring our pets here! Parkwest is amazing because of their expertise and especially because of their incredible staff.

Amazing vets! Highly recommend. Very reasonable prices. The thing I like most is that they will not push unnecessary medication or procedures and are very conscious of people’s budgets.

Update: My dog had a large tumour on his nose and the vet carefully removed it and called me as soon as he was awake and alert. The vet technicians carefully went through aftercare and what to watch for. We were concerned about the size of the tumour but Dr. L did a fantastic job! Would recommend this vet for large operations and for just check ups. They really care about our animals and us as owners. Fantastic crew!!

My dog had a problem that was only getting worse. After meeting with Dr. Finyak, he correctly diagnosed the problem, explained my options, and eventually recommended the proper treatment.
My dog is doing much better now, thanks to Dr. Finyak. My dog and I are very fortunate to have crossed paths with him.
Dr. Finyak is a very caring and compassionate person, and possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of veterinary medicine.

I have had pets over the last 35 years, and over that time I've been to many differnt vets, and Parkwest is by far the best.
They truely care about animals at Parkwest.
Some of the other vets I've been to only care about money, and manipulate your love for your pet to get as much money as possible and do as little as possible. These vets give the others a bad name.
Parkwest has done a lot of work at no charge or a reduced rate for me, because I've had to come in so often due to the problems some of my pets have had in the passed. They do excellent work and are very gentle, and are the only vet I would recommend.
So if your family pet is every in need of medical attention, and you want the best veterinarian go to Parkwest.

What can we say? Dr. Petrut and his very capable and friendly staff are the best we have ever dealt with. At a time when our ageing Cocker Spaniel, Sherlock, needed emergency care they were there to help us above and beyond what was expected. We had sought help previously from an "emergency" clinic a couple of weeks beforehand only to be met with very high priced services that did not help Sherlock in the least. Finally we took him to see Dr. Petrut, and the care we received was beyond exceptional. He took the time to explain everything that was happening to our beloved pet, and made us feel that whatever decision we made he would support it. Finally, we made the right decision for our pet, which was euthanasia...not an easy decision to make, but with the compassion and caring demonstrated by Dr. Petrut and his staff, especially Karen on reception, it was a lot less painful for our pet and us. I would highly recommend Parkwest Vet to anyone who is looking for a caring, compassionate veterinarian.

Parkwest vet clinic offers the best care for your pets. I have been taking my two small dogs to Parkwest for years, and have never experienced such professional and caring service for my dogs. All the staff are passionate about caring for animals and are equally kind and patient with the owners.
Nothing is done to/for your pet without a full explanation, and options are always carefully laid out. I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough.

The staff were all very friendly and professional.Our vet was very knowledgable. He asked lots of questions and did a thorough exam of our cat. Gave recommendations of future needs but was very honest as to what was and wasn't needed. We felt confident that he was not trying to sell services of they were not needed.I had booked in only a few days before our appointment. We really appreciate that we were able to get in on short notice. We will be back. Also they get bonus points for having a signed picture of Patrick Swayze on display! Haha

Just amazing. I called in last night just before they closed and they set up an appointment for my pooch this morning. She had a cyst that had burst. Dr. Petrut was so great with my dog. He removed the cyst in no time and had her stapled up and bandaged in less than 30 minutes. He took the time to talk to her and give her some treats during the procedure. He explained exactly what would happen with the follow up and what I'd need to do. They were just awesome. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I'm so glad I chose Parkwest to take my fur baby. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet or looking to make a change. Thanks so much for taking care of my girl!!

After finding out our regular vet is closed on Saturday and having some concerns about our dog that couldn't wait until Monday, we called around to several clinics in the city. Park West was the only one that would squeeze her in, despite being booked up.I'm glad we happened upon this clinic, because the vet was amazing. Dr. Finyak was extremely thorough with his examination if our dog and explained everything he was doing step by step. At no point did we feel like he was in a hurry and he took lots of time to answer our questions, even those that weren't particularly about the health issue at hand.We had the results of the tests within 15 minutes, and Dr. Finyak came up with a treatment plan for our dog and showed us how to administer the meds successfully.Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed by the quality of care, attentiveness and affordability of Park West. Although it's significantly further from the clinics nearest to our house, I think we might just switch over to Park West as our primary vet. It's hard to find this quality of service in the city!

My new adopted boy needed to be check up and vaccination. After Yelping around this time, I finally went to Park West Pet Clinic.Dr. Lorand Finyak was my puppy Dr. He is a young Dr. with a European accent, Very pleasant and patient, he had the time to explain the whole well being of my puppy and give advised how to look out for symptoms of sick dog.The completed check up and vaccination price very reasonable. One thing Dr. Finyak assure me that after vaccination if any reaction to the drugs, bring the dog back to them (hope never happens), and he will take all care with no extra charge. We (puppy and mom) love this place we will see him next year!

We have a French Bulldog/Boston Terrier mix. She has had serious skin conditions for quite some time now. Back in Toronto vets wanted thousands of dollars to do cytology, histology, skin scrappings,etc. They refused to do anything such as allergy tests,etc. After looking up various vets, we found Parkwest Pet Clinic. When we went in the establishment had the odor of freshly mopped with bleach. It was VERY open and not cluttered with various items for sale,etc.After a couple minutes of looking around we were greeted by Dr. John Petrut. We discussed our dogs situation and inquired about scheduling an appointment,etc. At this point Dr. Petrut invited us to the exam room and showed us an example of a pet allergy test. He let us ask all types of questions and gave us sound logical answers. He even allowed me to show him photo's of our dog and he gave his professional opinion based on that.Back in Toronto the vets would refuse to look at pictures, talk,etc. They would do nothing without us paying them to look at the dog. When we did that they also basically threw their hands up an said: "It could be anything, pay us more to do tests and we can pin point it."Our dog is scheduled for her first visit on Feb 1st and we plan to make Parkwest Pet Clinic our go to, for all our veterinary needs.

I can not say enough good about Parkwest pet clinic in Edmonton not only have they quoted me close to 700$ less than my previous vet, they didnt charge me anything to have my dogs tooth looked at and to give me a quote. Then today when I call to see when they have openings the receptionist offers to pick up my dog and then drive him home after cause she knew I didnt drive. WOW WOW WOW.
