Prices are pretty similar to other vets. And they carry a large selection of food and treats, as well as high quality toys as well. Great vet.

We were long term clients of this clinic before it came under the VCA (American) umbrella. We hadn't dealt with them since we had our dog spayed in 2014. We were about to add two new female dogs to our household and phoned to get a quote on having them spayed. We were shocked to find that their prices have more than doubled.
This may be the influence of the American business profit model but it pays to shop around. We did.

My tiny mouse got injured, and she's so skittish and difficult to handle. They got me in for an appointment within an hour, and I was amazed at how gently and effectively the vet was able to handle her for an examination. They took great care of her, were very understanding of my budget limitations, and provided lots of follow up advice and care. I'm very impressed with the care here and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good small animal vet.

In response to the owner's comments. I got a second opinion in regards to my cat losing weight and found out he never had kidney disease, instead he has Inflammatory Bowel disease. I had to pay about $800 for an US at Guardian to confirm this diagnosis. Even after I spoke to the hospital manager, I still had to fight to get my money back for the lack of service and misdiagnosis of my cat. My poor cat wasting away and in abdominal pain because the vet never took the time to investigate his weight loss. Two different vets confirmed it was not kidney disease and yet they are too stubborn to admit their mistakes. They wonder why I want my file transferred. Well geez I wonder why. It has been about a week and a half and finally with the proper veterinarian care from Currents Veterinary Clinic my cat is starting to feel better. I highly recommend whomever reads this that if you care about your animals like family then you will not take them to this place because they really don't care about you or your animals

This is the most amazing veterinary clinic in the city. They are always helpful and knowledgeable about everything. My experience here has been beyond what any other vet has provided me in the past. Dr. Chappell helped me though the one of the hardest moments of my life and the entire staff was more than accommodating in that endeavor. If I could I'd rate this clinic at 1000 stars! I highly recommend anyone and everyone to Calgary Trail Pet Hospital.

I took my Hedgehog Axel here after he fell ill. They took such good care of him, but eventually I had to make the hard decision to let my baby boy go. They were nothing but caring and wonderful. They offered for me to keep some of his quills and gave me stamps of his little paw prints for free. I also just received a letter saying they donated to the Edmonton Humane Society in Axel's memory. Will be taking all my future pets here. Nothing but wonderful.

My puppy Abbey has visited this clinic three times now and it's been wonderful each time. She is always calm and relaxed when we go to the vet, so that's proof they are doing something right. We have met two vets and a few other staff members, all of whom are friendly and kind. My 7yo son mentioned he wants to be a scientist, so one of the techs actually made a slide for his microscope! What an amazing gift! Above and beyond.

I can't say enough nice things about you guys! After a very terrible experience at a couple other animal hospitals with in the city this was the most comforting experience ever! My dog Molly had a bladder stone... I was so nervous and anxious and annoying and never once did they make me feel like a pain in the ass..... even though I'm sure I'd called them no less than 10 times in 4 days and they easily spent 15-30 minutes on the phone with me every time! Needless to say while Molly isn't 100% back yet. She's starting to wag her little kardashian booty again and slept through an entire night last night..... something I haven't had for over a year with her. Thank you Calgary trail! I'll refer you to everyone and their dog! LITERALLY!

We have been going to this clinic since it was next to Petsmart. The front counter staff are out of this world...so friendly and always love to see the animals. The doctors and techs are the same so gentle and have a genuine care and love for all the patients. The office is large and always clean. I would say this is the best vet office in Edmonton and if you are thinking of taking your pets here...you will not be disappointed.

I have been going to CTPH for 17 years. I know all the staff and they know me. Up until about 6 - 12 months ago I had been happy. And although I still love my Veterinarian and many of the staff, I find myself forced to LEAVE this clinic after all these years because they have changed. They (the clinic) DO NOT CARE like they used to. It is now an overly busy, big box-store like clinic and you will rarely be able to get into the Doctor you want to see. There is a SERIOUS lack of communication between staff members which leads to NO FOLLOW-UP and what comes across as FAKE CONCERN in communications with clients. You will get a "how's so-and-so doing?" email and when you reply, thinking they actually want to know because they asked, you WILL NEVER get a reply leaving you to wonder if your message was ever delivered.
If you are lucky enough to have a healthy pet - they can do the routine stuff for you and you'll probably be reasonably happy which is why I rated them 2 stars instead of 1. However, THEY WILL NOT BE THERE WHEN YOU REALLY, REALLY NEED THEM. Since they have sold the practice to a big conglomerate, They only seem interested in the quick, easy, money-making stuff. Let me tell you it is NOT the optimal time to try to find a new veterinarian when your dog is as ill as mine is -- save yourself some grief and find a clinic that is willing to help you both in good and bad times....

I normally don't leave reviews but I love it here! I come all the way in from St. Albert just to get my hedgehogs looked at. It's difficult to get a clinic to even look at hedgehogs, and yet the vets at Calgary Trail Pet Hospital are all very knowledgeable and attentive (I've now met all three exotic pet specialists) and always give the best care they can. I will continue to make the trek out to the south side because I love this clinic so much! Please continue your amazing work here.

In the last 3 years, I have acquired 2 cats and a Great Dane into my family. They are all really healthy animals but sometimes they have their problems. We had some allergy issues with our first cat which Dr. Fredlund took care of. When we started having stomach problems with our second cat, she also found out what was going on and resolved that. And recently our Great Dane has had some health issues and we have brought him in for that, and they take such good care of him. There is clear communication at all times. They give you forms to fill out that can't be misinterpreted. My animals are my family. Money is no object. I have seen here in a review that they had a problem with the billing. This vet clinic is top of the line for care. They all genuinely care about your pets. I have heard horror stories from other vet clinics. Not saying they are all bad, but if you want a good one, a trustworthy one, a compassionate one... these are the people you want to take them to. From Britney in Reception, to Ashley in the back and Dr. Fredlund and all the other staff, you honestly couldn't ask for better care!

Our little chihuahua Charlie went in for his first shots yesterday. We love this vet, Charlie's big sister Bella gives Dr. Chappell kisses every time she sees her :) Charlie loves her too! We took him home and an hour later our little Charlie's face had swelled to the point of scary for me. I was so scared we drive him right back. One of the lovely ladies up front ran to the door and met me as I was coming in. She took Charlie to the back to Dr. Chappell while another lovely lady put me in a room to wait and grabbed me a glass of water. Dr. Chappell came in with our baby Charlie and assured us he was going to be ok. We're not sure if it was a reaction to the shots or a bee sting but what we are sure if is that he was in good hands. She recommended he stay there for monitoring for a couple hours and I felt nothing but confidence leaving him there. He spent two hours making his rounds cuddling all the girls (he's a ladies man) he made some friends and came home healthy and happy. We are so impressed with the whole team here you can't put a price on the way the truly care for your pets. We love Dr. Chappell, all of us. And we love all the ladies who make being there such a pleasure for the pets and their owners. Thank you everyone! And keep being amazing we appreciate you!

We were long term clients of this clinic before it came under the VCA (American) umbrella. We hadn't dealt with them since we had our dog spayed in 2014. We were about to add two new female dogs to our household and phoned to get a quote on having them spayed. We were shocked to find that their prices have more than doubled.
This may be the influence of the American business profit model but it pays to shop around. We did.

My tiny mouse got injured, and she's so skittish and difficult to handle. They got me in for an appointment within an hour, and I was amazed at how gently and effectively the vet was able to handle her for an examination. They took great care of her, were very understanding of my budget limitations, and provided lots of follow up advice and care. I'm very impressed with the care here and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good small animal vet.

In response to the owner's comments. I got a second opinion in regards to my cat losing weight and found out he never had kidney disease, instead he has Inflammatory Bowel disease. I had to pay about $800 for an US at Guardian to confirm this diagnosis. Even after I spoke to the hospital manager, I still had to fight to get my money back for the lack of service and misdiagnosis of my cat. My poor cat wasting away and in abdominal pain because the vet never took the time to investigate his weight loss. Two different vets confirmed it was not kidney disease and yet they are too stubborn to admit their mistakes. They wonder why I want my file transferred. Well geez I wonder why. It has been about a week and a half and finally with the proper veterinarian care from Currents Veterinary Clinic my cat is starting to feel better. I highly recommend whomever reads this that if you care about your animals like family then you will not take them to this place because they really don't care about you or your animals

This is the most amazing veterinary clinic in the city. They are always helpful and knowledgeable about everything. My experience here has been beyond what any other vet has provided me in the past. Dr. Chappell helped me though the one of the hardest moments of my life and the entire staff was more than accommodating in that endeavor. If I could I'd rate this clinic at 1000 stars! I took my Hedgehog Axel here after he fell ill. They took such good care of him, but eventually I had to make the hard decision to let my baby boy go. They were nothing but caring and wonderful. They offered for me to keep some of his quills and gave me stamps of his little paw prints for free. I also just received a letter saying they donated to the Edmonton Humane Society in Axel's memory. Will be taking all my future pets here. Nothing but wonderful.

My puppy Abbey has visited this clinic three times now and it's been wonderful each time. She is always calm and relaxed when we go to the vet, so that's proof they are doing something right. We have met two vets and a few other staff members, all of whom are friendly and kind. My 7yo son mentioned he wants to be a scientist, so one of the techs actually made a slide for his microscope! What an amazing gift! Above and beyond.

I can't say enough nice things about you guys! After a very terrible experience at a couple other animal hospitals with in the city this was the most comforting experience ever! My dog Molly had a bladder stone... I was so nervous and anxious and annoying and never once did they make me feel like a pain in the ass..... even though I'm sure I'd called them no less than 10 times in 4 days and they easily spent 15-30 minutes on the phone with me every time! Needless to say while Molly isn't 100% back yet. She's starting to wag her little kardashian booty again and slept through an entire night last night..... something I haven't had for over a year with her. Thank you Calgary trail! I'll refer you to everyone and their dog! LITERALLY!

They treat you like family, and the follow up care is nothing short of amazing. The front end staff always have a smile and greet you by name. The doctors and techs are the same so gentle and have a genuine care and love for all the patients. The office is large and always clean. I would say this is the best vet office in Edmonton and if you are thinking of taking your pets here...you will not be disappointed.

I have been going to CTPH for 17 years. I know all the staff and they know me. Up until about 6 - 12 months ago I had been happy. And although I still love my Veterinarian and many of the staff, I find myself forced to LEAVE this clinic after all these years because they have changed. They (the clinic) DO NOT CARE like they used to. It is now an overly busy, big box-store like clinic and you will rarely be able to get into the Doctor you want to see. There is a SERIOUS lack of communication between staff members which leads to NO FOLLOW-UP and what comes across as FAKE CONCERN in communications with clients. You will get a "how's so-and-so doing?" email and when you reply, thinking they actually want to know because they asked, you WILL NEVER get a reply leaving you to wonder if your message was ever delivered.
If you are lucky enough to have a healthy pet - they can do the routine stuff for you and you'll probably be reasonably happy which is why I rated them 2 stars instead of 1. However, THEY WILL NOT BE THERE WHEN YOU REALLY, REALLY NEED THEM. Since they have sold the practice to a big conglomerate, They only seem interested in the quick, easy, money-making stuff. Let me tell you it is NOT the optimal time to try to find a new veterinarian when your dog is as ill as mine is -- save yourself some grief and find a clinic that is willing to help you both in good and bad times....

I normally don't leave reviews but I love it here! I come all the way in from St. Albert just to get my hedgehogs looked at. It's difficult to get a clinic to even look at hedgehogs, and yet the vets at Calgary Trail Pet Hospital are all very knowledgeable and attentive (I've now met all three exotic pet specialists) and always give the best care they can. I will continue to make the trek out to the south side because I love this clinic so much! Please continue your amazing work here.

In the last 3 years, I have acquired 2 cats and a Great Dane into my family. They are all really healthy animals but sometimes they have their problems. We had some allergy issues with our first cat which Dr. Fredlund took care of. When we started having stomach problems with our second cat, she also found out what was going on and resolved that. And recently our Great Dane has had some health issues and we have brought him in for that, and they take such good care of him. There is clear communication at all times. They give you forms to fill out that can't be misinterpreted. My animals are my family. Money is no object. I have seen here in a review that they had a problem with the billing. This vet clinic is top of the line for care. They all genuinely care about your pets. I have heard horror stories from other vet clinics. Not saying they are all bad, but if you want a good one, a trustworthy one, a compassionate one... these are the people you want to take them to. From Britney in Reception, to Ashley in the back and Dr. Fredlund and all the other staff, you honestly couldn't ask for better care!

Our little chihuahua Charlie went in for his first shots yesterday. We love this vet, Charlie's big sister Bella gives Dr. Chappell kisses every time she sees her :) Charlie loves her too! We took him home and an hour later our little Charlie's face had swelled to the point of scary for me. I was so scared we drive him right back. One of the lovely ladies up front ran to the door and met me as I was coming in. She took Charlie to the back to Dr. Chappell while another lovely lady put me in a room to wait and grabbed me a glass of water. Dr. Chappell came in with our baby Charlie and assured us he was going to be ok. We're not sure if it was a reaction to the shots or a bee sting but what we are sure if is that he was in good hands. She recommended he stay there for monitoring for a couple hours and I felt nothing but confidence leaving him there. He spent two hours making his rounds cuddling all the girls (he's a ladies man) he made some friends and came home healthy and happy. We are so impressed with the whole team here you can't put a price on the way the truly care for your pets. We love Dr. Chappell, all of us. And we love all the ladies who make being there such a pleasure for the pets and their owners. Thank you everyone! And keep being amazing we appreciate you!
