I came to this vet a while ago on recommendation of a friend. I am so glad I did. I felt my old vet had gotten to the point where they knew I would pay for it so they charged through the roof. (My dog had broken is leg and we were told it needed to be pinned and it would cost upwards of $4,000. We paid for the surgery and all went well but in the follow up exam the vet casually mentioned that they could have actually casted it for $1,200 but it wouldn't have healed as well. I would have still went with the surgery but that's my choice to make, not theirs. Lots of things like that were starting to happen) This vet is so wonderful. They don't do anything like that. They explain ALL my options, there prices are so reasonable and they are very helpful. What I love is that they really want to work with my pets and myself. I am having issues with one cat and one of the options is to have him on some stress meds. I said that I really didn't want to medicate him all the time if I could be helped. They agreed and laid out some other methods for me to try first. I have mainly dealt with Dr. Bear who has be wonderful but if she isn't available one of the other vets jump right in. A fantastic vet and will always get my service. Word of warning though, they are close to two schools and some swimming place so if your trying to go around 3-5 on a weekday parking can be tricky. That is my only complaint though!

Riverbend veterinary clinic has been our family's vet of choice for more than 20 years. The staff has always been so kind, caring and professional. More recently I started taking my then puppy (now almost 2year old) dog to Dr. Lam. We love her. She's so great with my sometimes timid beast and is very friendly and relatable. Never trying to over charge or do anything unnecessary just to make $$. We always have a lovely chat and I look forward to our visits. Great with kids too.

I'm not a person to write reviews however, I have never been so disappointed. I adopted two rescue dogs. They were brought to this vet under their K9 numbers and number the rescue agencies name. When they were officially adopted, I advised the staff here of this upon a follow up appointment. On that last visit here, Dr. Lam told me that because I have a child and a puppy (who she saw once, the second time he was under for surgery) that nipped, that I need to fix that because shes put dogs under for less than biting children. 1. You haven't touched him (p.s He never bite once... because we worked on it..) and she had seen him once. Also, she hates animals. Why are you vet?
Fast forward to now. I switched vets and needed my dogs shot certificates. I call Riverbend. They cannot find any information except the one visit from when we adopted them. I was on the phone with them from 11am until 5:30pm. Turns out, they found their files under their previous names (why were they separated?...) and one of my dogs got all his shots. The other. Got her first round of booster shots and that is all... Who doesn't tell an owner their dog is missing shots. Is that not your job?
The lady on the phone proceeded to yell at me and kept talking over me when I asked questions. She told me I was "rude" when I asked why they weren't given. This place is a joke and if you want to put your animals life at risk ( I.E My dog was running around with no rabies shots. We go out in the trails...) then go here. You will be threatened, not be advised of your animals info and told you are rude when you ask why they didn't do the job they are paid to do.
I'm now with Park Vet in Sherwood Park. They were nothing but fabulous to me and gave me lots of information about shots. What they are called, what they do, etc.
Riverbend needs to train their employees and teach them the importance of keeping documents in order.

For over twenty years we've been going to her; not only being very friendly and great with our pets, but very knowledgeable and thorough.The girls at the desk are always splendid and helpful and I'm happy the new renovations have turned out so well!I seriously swear by these people. From when I was a little kid bringing in my kitten to now an adult. An adult who lives all the way out in St Albert and fully willing to drive down just to take my old cat (same kitten even!) to see Dr. Bear.Best vet in town~!

My family has brought our four-legged family members to Riverbend Vet Clinic since the mid-late 90's when we lived in Riverbend. Now, my sister and I have our very own four-legged family members in our families and we still drive into Riverbend to take them for the best care we know at Riverbend Vet Clinic. All the staff members are knowledgable, professional, and friendly. The staff truly make you feel like your pet is their very own with the type of close attention and care they give them. Dr. Gordy at Riverbend Vet takes wonderful care of our pets. She gives honest advice and doesn't push expensive tests or treatments (I've had bad experiences at other clinics in Edmonton). After a recent surgery our dog came home with a very neat and clean incision and stitches, pre-measured oral syringes for pain meds, a report on the surgery (how it went, what exactly was done etc), antibiotics and instructions on how to care for her at home. She recovered extremely well. The staff are very friendly, organized and clearly love animals and their jobs. We drive half way across the city for their excellent care and skill.

We have been bringing our beloved BEAGLES to Riverbend Veterinary Clinic for 25+ years. Dr Gordey, Dr Bear AND their team of wonderful staff are amazing! They genuinely care about their patients; Dr. Gordey and her team truly make you feel comfortable! The level of customer service extended by each member of the staff; are extremely professional, quick to respond, very knowledgeable, coordinating anything you need and do so in a tight time frame. I would definitely refer anyone to this vet clinic. When my parent's evacuated Fort McMurray (from the fire), the staff were awesome about getting their dogs in for their vaccines and even gave them the vaccines for free and offered any dog food that my parent's may need, also for free.

Dr. Gordie & the clinics awesome team have looked after my two pooches Mian & Riviera for over 14 years with the utmost care and concern for my kids welfare. From routine checkups to surgical fixes over so many years, my kids always came out happy and issue free. Sadly both passed away in the last year and even at the worst of times all the staff were so kind, caring and considerate during such an awful time. I have since adopted two pooches from the Humane Society and I will happily bring them to see Dr. Gordie & Team for all the years to come. :) :) :)

I have been bringing my amazon parrot here for over 15 years because Dr. Gordey is one of the best avian vets in the city. She is experienced, patient, thorough, has an excellent "bed-side" manner, both with the pet and the pet parents. When my parent's dog, cat and bird needed "end of life" care over a period of 2 years, I took all of them here and I was given honest answers, not crazy $4000 treatment plan options that only give the pet 6 more months of life in agony (something my 82 year old father was recommended when he took his 13 year old poodle who had lung cancer to a different clinic).I now have two small middle-aged dogs and a 26 year old parrot and they are all being cared for by Dr. Gordey and Dr. Bear at the Riverbend Clinic for regular shots and check-ups, emergency care and their surgical needs. I trust both of these excellent veterinarians with my pets' lives -- and to give me a variety of treatment options. Remember it's your pet, when it's sick or injured, you have to make the treatment choices. Medical care is very expensive. If you cannot afford $1700 to set a broken leg or $800 to get your dog's or cat's teeth cleaned every 3 years, then maybe you should think about getting a fish.

We once had a rabbit called Cuddles. It can be difficult to find a vet who takes rabbits, but this vet embraces the traditional cats and dogs, and also rabbits and snakes. This was a wonderful rabbit, especially to the crew at Riverbend Veterinary Clinic, who were always there to help with a smile. They offered to keep our rabbit there when we traveled (for a fee), and showed a love for Cuddles that seemed to border on our own affection. When we needed something explained, they did so gladly and in detail.They provided effective medication when Cuddles became infected in eyes and ear, and provided advice to us on how to extend our rabbit's life and general welfare. Whenever Cuddles developed a new way to frighten us, it was this crew that explained things to us and calmed us down. This same vet helped tactfully assist us in reaching the right decision when Cuddles health began to fail.When things reached their inevitable end, we took Cuddles to Riverbend Veterinary Clinic one final time, and if ever the team there had been understanding before, they were even more so now. Even though it was the right decision, it's the kind that always leaves you conflicted. But there's one thing I'm not conflicted about - Riverbend Veterinary Clinic will give your pet the care it deserves, and I fully recommend it.

I am sorry but my Dog didn't get proper diagnosis from doctor Bear , assure in his annual check everything was fine . 2 week later my dog was dead from a cancer that probably was there for long time , 1 week later after his annual had to take him again , pay another expensive consultation . Was not impressed . Will not take my next pet there. Yes human errors , but this time it did affected me

I came to this vet a while ago on recommendation of a friend. I am so glad I did. I felt my old vet had gotten to the point where they knew I would pay for it so they charged through the roof. (My dog had broken is leg and we were told it needed to be pinned and it would cost upwards of $4,000. We paid for the surgery and all went well but in the follow up exam the vet casually mentioned that they could have actually casted it for $1,200 but it wouldn't have healed as well. I would have still went with the surgery but that's my choice to make, not theirs. Lots of things like that were starting to happen) This vet is so wonderful. They don't do anything like that. They explain ALL my options, there prices are so reasonable and they are very helpful. What I love is that they really want to work with my pets and myself. I am having issues with one cat and one of the options is to have him on some stress meds. I said that I really didn't want to medicate him all the time if I could be helped. They agreed and laid out some other methods for me to try first. I have mainly dealt with Dr. Bear who has be wonderful but if she isn't available one of the other vets jump right in. A fantastic vet and will always get my service. Word of warning though, they are close to two schools and some swimming place so if your trying to go around 3-5 on a weekday parking can be tricky. That is my only complaint though!

Riverbend veterinary clinic has been our family's vet of choice for more than 20 years. The staff has always been so kind, caring and professional. More recently I started taking my then puppy (now almost 2year old) dog to Dr. Lam. We love her. She's so great with my sometimes timid beast and is very friendly and relatable. Never trying to over charge or do anything unnecessary just to make $$. We always have a lovely chat and I look forward to our visits. Great with kids too.

Luna had spayed on Monday. Surgery went so well and they even cut her nails! Couldn’t be more satisfied. The price is very reasonable too. Strongly recommend! Dr. Lam was her surgeon 👩⚕️

I'm not a person to write reviews however, I have never been so disappointed. I adopted two rescue dogs. They were brought to this vet under their K9 numbers and number the rescue agencies name. When they were officially adopted, I advised the staff here of this upon a follow up appointment. On that last visit here, Dr. Lam told me that because I have a child and a puppy (who she saw once, the second time he was under for surgery) that nipped, that I need to fix that because shes put dogs under for less than biting children. 1. You haven't touched him (p.s He never bite once... because we worked on it..) and she had seen him once. Also, she hates animals. Why are you vet?
Fast forward to now. I switched vets and needed my dogs shot certificates. I call Riverbend. They cannot find any information except the one visit from when we adopted them. I was on the phone with them from 11am until 5:30pm. Turns out, they found their files under their previous names (why were they separated?...) and one of my dogs got all his shots. The other. Got her first round of booster shots and that is all... Who doesn't tell an owner their dog is missing shots. Is that not your job?
The lady on the phone proceeded to yell at me and kept talking over me when I asked questions. She told me I was "rude" when I asked why they weren't given. This place is a joke and if you want to put your animals life at risk ( I.E My dog was running around with no rabies shots. We go out in the trails...) then go here. You will be threatened, not be advised of your animals info and told you are rude when you ask why they didn't do the job they are paid to do.
I'm now with Park Vet in Sherwood Park. They were nothing but fabulous to me and gave me lots of information about shots. What they are called, what they do, etc.
Riverbend needs to train their employees and teach them the importance of keeping documents in order.

For over twenty years we've been going to her; not only being very friendly and great with our pets, but very knowledgeable and thorough.The girls at the desk are always splendid and helpful and I'm happy the new renovations have turned out so well!I seriously swear by these people. From when I was a little kid bringing in my kitten to now an adult. An adult who lives all the way out in St Albert and fully willing to drive down just to take my old cat (same kitten even!) to see Dr. Bear.Best vet in town~!

My family has brought our four-legged family members to Riverbend Vet Clinic since the mid-late 90's when we lived in Riverbend. Now, my sister and I have our very own four-legged family members in our families and we still drive into Riverbend to take them for the best care we know at Riverbend Vet Clinic. Dr. Gordy at Riverbend Vet takes wonderful care of our pets. She gives honest advice and doesn't push expensive tests or treatments (I've had bad experiences at other clinics in Edmonton). After a recent surgery our dog came home with a very neat and clean incision and stitches, pre-measured oral syringes for pain meds, a report on the surgery (how it went, what exactly was done etc), antibiotics and instructions on how to care for her at home. She recovered extremely well. The staff are very friendly, organized and clearly love animals and their jobs. We drive half way across the city for their excellent care and skill.

We have been bringing our beloved BEAGLES to Riverbend Veterinary Clinic for 25+ years. Dr Gordey, Dr Bear AND their team of wonderful staff are amazing! They genuinely care about their patients; Dr. Gordey and her team truly make you feel comfortable! The level of customer service extended by each member of the staff; are extremely professional, quick to respond, very knowledgeable, coordinating anything you need and do so in a tight time frame. During our visits we know we are always in good hands. Dr. Gordey is miles above all other vets I have been to in terms of knowledge and skill. I LOVE this Veterinary office!!!

I would definitely refer anyone to this vet clinic. When my parent's evacuated Fort McMurray (from the fire), the staff were awesome about getting their dogs in for their vaccines and even gave them the vaccines for free and offered any dog food that my parent's may need, also for free.

Dr. Gordie & the clinics awesome team have looked after my two pooches Mian & Riviera for over 14 years with the utmost care and concern for my kids welfare. From routine checkups to surgical fixes over so many years, my kids always came out happy and issue free. Sadly both passed away in the last year and even at the worst of times all the staff were so kind, caring and considerate during such an awful time. I have since adopted two pooches from the Humane Society and I will happily bring them to see Dr. Gordie & Team for all the years to come. :) :) :)

I have been bringing my amazon parrot here for over 15 years because Dr. Gordey is one of the best avian vets in the city. She is experienced, patient, thorough, has an excellent "bed-side" manner, both with the pet and the pet parents. When my parent's dog, cat and bird needed "end of life" care over a period of 2 years, I took all of them here and I was given honest answers, not crazy $4000 treatment plan options that only give the pet 6 more months of life in agony (something my 82 year old father was recommended when he took his 13 year old poodle who had lung cancer to a different clinic).I now have two small middle-aged dogs and a 26 year old parrot and they are all being cared for by Dr. Gordey and Dr. Bear at the Riverbend Clinic for regular shots and check-ups, emergency care and their surgical needs. I trust both of these excellent veterinarians with my pets' lives -- and to give me a variety of treatment options. Remember it's your pet, when it's sick or injured, you have to make the treatment choices. Medical care is very expensive. If you cannot afford $1700 to set a broken leg or $800 to get your dog's or cat's teeth cleaned every 3 years, then maybe you should think about getting a fish.

A veterinarian is a place you hope you never need, but when you do, it's good to have a calm and attentive vet working for you. I have had a run of bad luck of late--my cats are all over 14. Dr. Gordie has been excellent. Frank, sensitive, but not judgmental. I believe she helped me find the correct answers. Here is to healthier darn cats. I need a little luck!

We once had a rabbit called Cuddles. It can be difficult to find a vet who takes rabbits, but this vet embraces the traditional cats and dogs, and also rabbits and snakes. This was a wonderful rabbit, especially to the crew at Riverbend Veterinary Clinic, who were always there to help with a smile. They offered to keep our rabbit there when we traveled (for a fee), and showed a love for Cuddles that seemed to border on our own affection. When we needed something explained, they did so gladly and in detail.They provided effective medication when Cuddles became infected in eyes and ear, and provided advice to us on how to extend our rabbit's life and general welfare. Whenever Cuddles developed a new way to frighten us, it was this crew that explained things to us and calmed us down. This same vet helped tactfully assist us in reaching the right decision when Cuddles health began to fail.When things reached their inevitable end, we took Cuddles to Riverbend Veterinary Clinic one final time, and if ever the team there had been understanding before, they were even more so now. Even though it was the right decision, it's the kind that always leaves you conflicted. But there's one thing I'm not conflicted about - Riverbend Veterinary Clinic will give your pet the care it deserves, and I fully recommend it.
