We can always get our dog in quickly when we need to. They keep us posted on everything through mail and email, and we haven't missed any boosters or checkups since switching to Green Acres. Their prices are also quite reasonable for a vet in the city, and the mini dog park is a really nice touch for when you have to get a sample from your dog. I went to Green Acres after I had been to a different vet with my very sick pup and wanted a second opinion. They were recommended to me by a friend and I am SO glad I went. First of all, the front desk/receptionist staff is WONDERFUL and so caring. They were extremely accommodating and warm on the phone when making the appointment, and were wonderful to deal with when we arrived at the facility. My previous vet's office hadn't sent the records to Green Acres after multiple requests and finally one of the ladies working reception (I didn't catch her name) sat on the phone with them and didn't get off until they sent them. Small touch but I felt like she truly cared about my time and wanted to make sure everything went well for us. We saw Dr. Ramona Penney and I was so happy with how thorough she was. She listened to my concerns and didn't try to brush them off, and took the time to notice that something just wasn't adding up with my dog's health. Dr. Penney said she felt my dog had a neurological issue and referred me to a specialist in Calgary (who was also amazing), and even took the time to phone and find out if they had an appointment once I had left her office, and asked them to hold the appointment while she called me back to check if it would work for my schedule. Thanks to the staff at Green Acres, my little sweetie got the care and attention she needed, and can now be treated before things get worse. Had Dr. Penney not been as thorough as she was, my dog's disease likely would not have been caught, and she would not have landed in the superb care of the specialist team in Calgary. I would highly recommend Green Acres Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a great veterinary team for their furry family members! Read Less

Every time I have dealt with this office has been a great experience. My rabbit had an eye issue and the vet saw him, treated it, and offered complimentary follow-up service. When my rabbit ate a bit of a houseplant the vet spoke to me on the phone, gave me the number of a rabbit specialist in Calgary when she wasn't 100% sure of the answer, and even phoned to follow up with me and see how my bunny was. When I brought in my rabbit for a check up, (due to a scheduling mistake) the vet showed up slightly late and didn't charge for the visit at all as an apology. Green acres was really nice. We came in through the side door which went through a small garden and Tiger got to see it too. We went directly in the private room and it had a couch.. we talked a little and I picked the urn and the paw clay imprint we wanted. After about 15 mins of talking she took Tiger into the back and put an IV in her leg, and I got to hold her in her blankey some more. She stayed on my lap the whole time then she asked if we were ready and she gave Tiger the shot and it pretty much stopped her heart right there.. it was really peaceful.. This place is the best place to take your pet if you need to put them down I know this as we just had to do that with our dog we have had for over 10 years. I could not go it was just to hard so my daughter and husband took him, my daughter said the staff was so great and compassionate, they asked her if she wanted to spend some time with him after it was done to say goodbye. Today we received a card in the mail signed by all the staff with my dogs name and paw prints on the inside cover, I cried . After reading reviews all over the internet about this practice being the best. I took my Mini Schnauzer Hamish in. I was not disappointed! They took such good care of him and the vet and staff were extremely friendly, helpful and most importantly thorough and they kept in constant touch with me to let me know how things were. I had three phone calls in one day and he was only at the practice for 8 hours and wasn't having anything serious like surgery or anything. Excellent practice, can't recommend highly enough! The service was absolutely amazing. Our beloved cat Smokers passed away on New Years Day. They were very understanding that we were grieving. We opted for a regular cremation with part of his favorite blankie. They offered free ink paw prints and possibly a lock of his fur. They were very helpful and supportive. One of their customers even paid for it when I went to borrow the last little bit of money we were short. To this person we would like to say thank you. It meant the world to us. Read Less

We took our cat for his first shots and to be sterilized a few days ago. The staff were friendly and they managed to get his surgery done in the afternoon even though they only do surgery in the mornings and they had him ready to come home that same day! A few months ago we brought our cat in for a second opinion after receiving some questionable treatment suggestions from another vet. I can't say enough great things about the folks at Green Acres. Staff is incredibly friendly and go above and beyond to be helpful and make your time there as smooth and stress free as possible. The vet herself was incredibly compassionate and for the first time at a vet, didn't feel like they were just trying to milk me for as much cash as they can. She followed up with us after as well to make sure our cat was doing well. All products and services are very reasonably priced. The food we were buying at our last vet was $10 less at Green Acres! I love the Green Acres Animal Hospital. Because at 11:30 in the frigidity of last night, the on-call vet got out of bed to meet me at the clinic to tend to my sick 16- year old dog, who has had cancer for a year. We wound up having to put him down. Definitely not what she likely had in mind for Friday night. But as always, we were met with compassion and sympathy in making a difficult decision for a dog I have had since he was six weeks old. The vets at Green Acres have always been great to us.
