We have 7 animals in our family: 2 birds; 2 cats and 3 dogs. We've lived in a number of different cities, but we have never had a vet and a staff of people who truly love and care for our animals like Dr. Vaughn and her team. We've also boarded our dogs at Northside Pet Clinic many times, and we know that every person on staff loves them and helps take care of them. This is a down-to-earth clinic that focuses on giving the best possible care to the pets they treat. You won't be overcharged and your pet won't be put through needless expensive testing or treatment, but you can count on plenty of TLC. Dr. Vaughn and her staff honestly care about the pets and their families who come to their clinic.Read Less

Dr. Vaughn saved my Giselle dogs life a few years ago when we were on our way to AL. for Juliana's brain surgery. Giselle was suddenly dying and we found this clinic online by reviews. We had to leave Giselle with Dr. Vaughn to have her own surgery to save her life. She was so sick and alone Doc took her home evenings. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Vaughn. Northside Pet Clinic has been a part of my husband & my family for 50 years now. When my husband was a little boy his family used the clinic (Dr Tillery) and we have been together almost 30 years out of the 50. We literally do consider them as part of our family. Although my regular vet faxed vaccination records, this clinic required my dog to be revaccinated. I was not told this until i arrived with my dog or I would have made other arrangements. Parvo vaccines are required for adult dogs when boarding. Pet owners fill out customary forms but are then asked the same information verbally across the clinic lobby. The day i picked my dog up, she was examined without me present (although i made an appointment) which completely went against my wishes. Her healing leg was left unsplinted and she reinjured it in her excitement to see me after having been boarded for several days. Rather than her things being brought to me at the same time she was & in the bag I brought with her, I was given her splint when I arrived, her blanket was shoved at me while trying to get her harness on correctly, then her bag & extra food was brought out to me. This clinic is chaotic and poorly run. My dog will not be boarded here again.Read Less

Dr. Vaughn is an excellent and amazing veterinarian and surgeon and the best one I have ever had. I have both dogs and cats and Dr. Vaughn has saved two of my kitten's lives. In April of 2011, my dog Kippie, a peek/pom/poo, had a knot come up on her leg and I took her to my vet and they took a biopsy and sent it to MS State Veterinary School. They diagnosed it as a cancer called, hemangiopericytoma. Their recommendation was to remove the leg and then she would need two months of radiation at their facility. If I did not do this she would be dead in two months. My vet said if I did not want to go to that extreme or expense she suggested to just remove the leg. I went to a second vet and they said to also remove the leg. Third vet, absolutely remove the leg! I could not do that as Kippie is my athlete and loves to run so I did nothing and decided to let the cancer do whatever it would do and let her have quality of life, rather than quantity. January of 2014, I realized I had to do something, the tumor was now the size of a huge orange or a small grapefruit and was beginning to bleed, so I asked my new vet, Dr. Vaughn if she would remove the leg. She said she thought she could remove the tumor and if necessary use artificial skin to close the wound. This was the reason every vet would not try to remove the tumor as there would be not enough skin to close the wound. Dr. Vaughn cleared her schedule and operated and it was a huge success! My dog is as normalas can be and can run and jump and lives a wonderful full life!!! I cannot thank her enough for doing the impossible, especially when no other vet would touch it! I do keep her on Science Diet ND a food to fight cancer, and right now she is doing great! Thank you so much to Dr. Vaughn who was willing to go that extra mile for a little dog!Read Less
