Moore Equine is a 24 hour emergency veterinary centre, based out of two locations serving the Calgary area. The North facility, located just north of the Calgary airport is a fully equipped and staffed hospital, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The South facility, located near Okotoks, provides outpatient care and is the focus of our Equine Reproduction practice. Our case load is primarily equine, with additional work in bovine, camelid, and small ruminants. Our practice is home to 13 doctors. These include two board certified surgeons, a board certified theriogenologist (reproduction), a board certified sports medicine specialist, an internationally recognized authority on equine dentistry, and three clinicians certified in alternative methods. In addition, we have two internal medicine specialists from the University of Calgary, and we function as an external teaching facility for the School of Veterinary Medicine. The combination of medical expertise, personalized treatment and cutting edge technology combine to create an unmatched standard of care.

This is one of the ONLY vet clinics I will ever trust with my horses and donkeys. We use Dr. Evans and he is absolutely fantastic. He definitely knows his stuff and the best part is, he doesn't sugar coat anything. If something is seriously wrong, he tells it like it is, which I really like.
The receptionists are exceptional as I call in quite frequently and they are always friendly and helpful, even if I have a silly question to ask them.
When we called for an emergency vet at midnight for my donkey, one of the vets came out immediately and took care of everything. She even stuck around to ensure my donkey recovered well (he had been choking on hay and we panicked a little bit).
The clinic is fantastic and I highly recommend it. Read Less

Feeling dejected after losing a mare in Moore's care this spring. The death was certainly no fault of theirs, but I was left feeling frustrated because the cause of death has still not been provided to me. They called originally and left a voicemail with lab results without mentioning a confirmed/suspected cause (they only mentioned the test was a negative result, found not to be the cause). I've called the clinic now several times since to inquire further, their response each time: 'the doctor is busy, in appointment's and will call you later'. A subsequent call is yet to be received. We were told originally they would cut a lock out of her mane for us - we now suspect this was also never done. So we have nothing from our lost mare. I understand as a rarity, the cause of death cannot be determined. If this was the case, the cause was unknown, why not provide that information to the client? Is there something to hide? I see no other reason why the doctor could not call back and have a 10 minute conversation to clear these things up with the families who lose an animal. I am just left feeling very sad about the treatment we received from Moore following the loss of our mare and I hope no one else has to experience the same. It feels as if Moore is very concerned about collecting on services rendered but does not understand the concept of continued customer service past that point. Very, very, very sad. Read Less

Negligent, and Horrific. I took a foal in with a bad knee to be cast. While under their 'care' the broodmare lost hundreds of pounds. I had picked the mare up after hours to find her tail bone protruding out of her back, a total skeleton. The mare suffered colic complication at the recommended 'long-term care' facility hours later. The mare went in for surgery, no one was ready. Surgeons arrived 2+ hours after the initial emergency call. I had to go around and wake up the staff on site for assistance. The mare did not make the operating table. I then received a padded invoice for services - which I will never pay. I requested numerous meetings with the CEO (Dr.Fish) and attending vet (Dr.Scott). Incident happened in October 2013, finally in May 2014 they were able to produce some dates and times for meetings. DO NOT TAKE YOUR HORSES HERE! Read Less

Best staff on the planet! Friendly, knowledgeable, and super fun! Plus, the black mats they have down, are the best for the horses. Wouldn't take my horse anywhere else.
