Dr. Waterman is incredible. I can't thank him enough. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! (This is a lengthy review, I will warn you now). To understand how big of an impact he has had, you'd have to understand where we've been. Beginning in January 2018 - my west highland terrier, Sophie, developed blistering rashes on her lower lips, chin, shoulders, back, bum and tummy (photos attached). For 5 months, my dog was followed by a Vet in Edmonton (not Dr. Waterman) who assured me it was a food allergy, and basically just something we'd have to work out. We changed her diet - she was put on a limited ingredient dog food - treats were dehydrated meat only - everything else was removed. The rash began to worsen and spread. Every two weeks, we'd return to get more antibiotics, and were told the same story 'it's an allergy'. Frustrated, and tired of spending hundreds of dollars seemingly getting no where, I searched online and found Parkland Vet Clinic. The entire experience was pleasant. Beautiful clinic and friendly staff. That's when we met Dr. Waterman. Great bedside manner, and fantastic with animals. Upon reviewing Sophie's scabs - he said "this is NOT an allergy!" He suspected Staph Infection and suggested that we remove her from all antibiotics so that we could do a culture and sensitivity to find exactly what the bug was susceptible to - instead of blindly treating her, hoping for the best. We came back a few weeks later, and the culture was performed. Within days, Dr. Waterman was calling me with results. It was Staph and E-Coli. Sophie was then put on a 2 week dose of antibiotics and given a medicated shampoo. As the 2 weeks was coming to an end - the scabs were dramatically reducing. Her itching had gone away completely and she just had a few bumps here and there. Dr. Waterman called me again - this time to check in on Sophie - to see how she was responding to the medication. He recommended another 2 rounds of the treatment. It has been almost two weeks since then, and I am so unbelievably happy to say that Sophie is almost 100% cleared up. A few tiny bumps remain - but they are growing smaller every day. (Healthy photo of my happy girl is attached as well)
Dr. Waterman is knowledgeable, attentive, friendly and truly cares about what he does. He has followed up with me on countless occasions.
Thank you so very much! I am soo happy to have found such an amazing vet and clinic for our pets. Also, this clinic is VERY reasonably priced.

I have dealt with Parkland Vet a number of times over the past four years.
From typical shots to helping me with my very nervous rescue dog. Figuring out how best to integrate him into my home, which shots he should get and how to help him go from a life of pit fighting violence to family pet.
We have had life saving surgery two days before Christmas for my daughters cat. Diagnosing cancer and saying goodbye to my husbands cat. And everything in-between.
The one thing that never changes is the AMAZING care for both fur baby and fur parent. Parkland Vet is worth the drive and I will never go anywhere else.

I brought my kitten in for a check up because she had funny lesions on her ear that started off small and continued to get bigger. I was told by Dr. Woods senior "oh it looks like an electrical shock burn I've never seen this before" I told her that was not possible!!!!. she took my cat in the back, shaved an unreasonable amount of hair around the ear and came back and said " here is some tobradex" she didn't do any tests at all even though she said she has never seen something like this before. I asked her if the insides of her ears were ok, no ear mites and she said " they look good" I was in the exam room for maybe 5 minutes, was charged a 110.00 dollars and sent on my way!!!!!This is apparently a senior veterinarian.I had a sick sick feeling in my gut that she was dead wrong!!!!! I was right!!!I had to wait a month before I wrote this review because I was so angry, still am!!!Do not trust your animal with this clinic!!

I am so grateful for Dr.Bauer! She previously cared for my dog (fixing her broken leg!) while employed by another clinic. Yesterday, we had an emergency and needed a Vet asap. Our regular clinic wasn't able to accommodate seeing us and directed us to emergency care. Instead, I tried calling Parkland, and I'm so happy I did. Although they were fully booked and Dr. Bauer wasn't scheduled to be in, they called me back and told me to come ahead because Dr. Bauer would be in for a short window. I'm so impressed with their team communication and accommodation. There is a warm and welcoming feeling upon arrival and I immediately felt my little pal would be in good hands. Dr. Bauer was as kind as ever and took the time to do the small surgery as needed. She is knowledgeable, explains things well and shows a great deal of empathy. I'm quite sure she's the best there is! The clinic prices are also very reasonable, which was just the icing on the cake for our perfect visit. Thanks again Parkland!

Very helpful over the phone. My dog broke her leg yet no clinic around here is allowed to do after hours emergency although her number is still there so she can help discuss your pets issues and she helped me get in touch with an after hours emergency clinic in the city. No other clinic had anyone to contact after hours or won't let you unless you're a client. Reason not for five stars is because I have not chosen a vet yet but I will choose her and update to either five stars or lower depending how it goes but so far she was helpful.

Went in for a pretty sad visit but I thank Dr Wood for taking the time to help us realize we were making the right decision and eliminate the second guessing going on in our heads. I have read bad reviews about this specific vet so I wasn't thrilled when she was our vet. It wasn't long before I realized these reviews were not accurate. I believe she's probably a no Bullshit type of woman therefore some individuals probably won't get along with her. She showed us and our dog respect, care and dignity. The simple fact she's able to do the job she does proves she's not heartless or some of the other names I've seen written to describe her

Okay lets see if I can get this to post as I lost the last one that I typed up. I live in Calgary but I usually bring Katie to this great clinic which has moved from Red Deer to Sylvan Lake. She has gone to this clinic before so I am very relaxed with leaving her here as they are always so friendly and take the time to explain procedures and after care to you and to answer all the questions that you may have. She went in and had 4 teeth removed,the rest were descaled and polished, nails trimmed, two skin tags removed from her face, laser done on her back leg and anal glands emptied. Heh you might as well get it done when they are under. As soon as this was all done they phoned to let a very anxious Mom and Dad (you pet "owners" know how that is) know that she was doing very well in recovery and that we could pick her up between 3 and 5. With all this she came home a pretty contended little girl and I am sure that in 24-48 hours she will feel like a brand new girl. Thanks again to everyone at the Parkland Veterinary Clinic in Sylvan Lake and as you can probably tell I would recommend them to anyone.

I am very impressed with the care and service we've received here. Our one dog has been to the vet several times in the last few months and the staff has been great and they've made an effort to charge us as little as possible. Absolutely recommend Dr Bauer to anyone looking for a vet!

I JUST HAD MY DOG AT THE CLINIC KNOWING SHE HAD AN EAR INFECTION. JUST SO EVERYONE IS AWARE THEY WILL CHARGE YOU A FULL BODY EXAM COST TO JUST CHECK HER EARS. I WILL NOT BRING ANY OF MY ANIMALS THERE....

I just have to share with everyone what a great Vet Clinic we have here in Spruce Grove! This past few weeks one of my dogs has been acting"off" but I assumed it was stress related as I was dog sitting. He was having diahreah at first, then he started nipping at his bum and then even after the other dog was gone he was escalating and started scooting (never done that before ) and crying so I called my vet. They were fantastic!! I was in within a few hours and the vet told me right away it was just his anal glands were full. (i've never had a dog need this emptied before so didn't recognize the symptoms) The technician came in and called my high strung dog down and quickly and efficiently dealt with the issue. Puppy treats and pats and my dog was happy as can be. And the wonderful perk when I went to pay was the vet only charged for dealing with the glands. No mark up fee for examining him or squeezing him in. I was amazed!!Over the next few days I put in a few calls because my poor dog seemed really sore after. They were awesome with explaining to me what to look for, things to try, and then again squeezing us back in a few days later. Vet double checked, have him some meds to help with the Pain he is having and again, no surprise bill!!!! Only charged for his meds! Love this vet. She's down to earth, practical, comfortable with your pet. The staff is friendly and really wants to see your pet happy and well and they are a pleasure to deal with. Thanks everyone!!

This is the best clinic I have ever been to. Dr Wood's is my hero. She is a wonderfull very knowlegeable vet and Heather is the BEST. I recoment this clinic to anyone who has a pet. I had a very sick cat and not only did Dr Woods treat my cat but she also treated me (armed me with info and compassion) I had several more years with my cat that I would not have gotten had I gone to another vet. I cannot stress enough what a great vet clinic this is. Thank God for Marg and Heather!!!!!!

Went in for a pretty sad visit but I thank Dr Wood for taking the time to help us realize we were making the right decision and eliminate the second guessing going on in our heads. I have read bad reviews about this specific vet so I wasn't thrilled when she was our vet. It wasn't long before I realized these reviews were not accurate. I believe she's probably a no Bullshit type of woman therefore some individuals probably won't get along with her. She showed us and our dog respect, care and dignity. The simple fact she's able to do the job she does proves she's not heartless or some of the other names I've seen written to describe her

Okay lets see if I can get this to post as I lost the last one that I typed up. I live in Calgary but I usually bring Katie to this great clinic which has moved from Red Deer to Sylvan Lake. She has gone to this clinic before so I am very relaxed with leaving her here as they are always so friendly and take the time to explain procedures and after care to you and to answer all the questions that you may have. She went in and had 4 teeth removed,the rest were descaled and polished, nails trimmed, two skin tags removed from her face, laser done on her back leg and anal glands emptied. Heh you might as well get it done when they are under. As soon as this was all done they phoned to let a very anxious Mom and Dad (you pet "owners" know how that is) know that she was doing very well in recovery and that we could pick her up between 3 and 5. With all this she came home a pretty contended little girl and I am sure that in 24-48 hours she will feel like a brand new girl. Thanks again to everyone at the Parkland Veterinary Clinic in Sylvan Lake and as you can probably tell I would recommend them to anyone.

I am very impressed with the care and service we've received here. Our one dog has been to the vet several times in the last few months and the staff has been great and they've made an effort to charge us as little as possible. Absolutely recommend Dr Bauer to anyone looking for a vet!

I JUST HAD MY DOG AT THE CLINIC KNOWING SHE HAD AN EAR INFECTION. JUST SO EVERYONE IS AWARE THEY WILL CHARGE YOU A FULL BODY EXAM COST TO JUST CHECK HER EARS. I WILL NOT BRING ANY OF MY ANIMALS THERE....

I just have to share with everyone what a great Vet Clinic we have here in Spruce Grove! This past few weeks one of my dogs has been acting"off" but I assumed it was stress related as I was dog sitting. He was having diahreah at first, then he started nipping at his bum and then even after the other dog was gone he was escalating and started scooting (never done that before ) and crying so I called my vet. They were fantastic!! I was in within a few hours and the vet told me right away it was just his anal glands were full. (i've never had a dog need this emptied before so didn't recognize the symptoms) The technician came in and called my high strung dog down and quickly and efficiently dealt with the issue. Puppy treats and pats and my dog was happy as can be. And the wonderful perk when I went to pay was the vet only charged for dealing with the glands. No mark up fee for examining him or squeezing him in. I was amazed!!Over the next few days I put in a few calls because my poor dog seemed really sore after. They were awesome with explaining to me what to look for, things to try, and then again squeezing us back in a few days later. Vet double checked, have him some meds to help with the Pain he is having and again, no surprise bill!!!! Only charged for his meds! Love this vet. She's down to earth, practical, comfortable with your pet. The staff is friendly and really wants to see your pet happy and well and they are a pleasure to deal with. Thanks everyone!!

This is the best clinic I have ever been to. Dr Wood's is my hero. She is a wonderfull very knowlegeable vet and Heather is the BEST. I recoment this clinic to anyone who has a pet. I had a very sick cat and not only did Dr Woods treat my cat but she also treated me (armed me with info and compassion) I had several more years with my cat that I would not have gotten had I gone to another vet. I cannot stress enough what a great vet clinic this is. Thank God for Marg and Heather!!!!!!
