I have no problem with the care my dog gets in this clinic. The vets and staff are great. My dog has been with them 4 -5 years. Now my dog has chronic problem, heart failure and chronic cough. My problem and big disappointment was when I talked to the owner/manager Judy. I phoned to ask about my bill from 2 days ago which was higher from previous bill. I was always charged for my dog condition now as recheck for the same condition and for xray as additional. I was charged more on the first ones . Then the following visits was cheaper. She called me after looking at the file not sounding happy and she told me that I said my dog's cough was worsened. My dog' cough never goes away. I just need new cough suppressant because the others doesn't work. This is the 4th one that I got now. So I told her that nothing has changed. She said "this has got to stop. "the abusing" . I'm puzzled by her words. Who's abusing what? all I want to know is why I was charged different. So she said the Vet has been nice to charge me what I was charged before. That follow ups have limits. She was giving me a lecture that sounds I was doing something wrong. I just needed to know why I was charged more this time. And that was a big mistake. I don't need to hear her lecture and by the way, she hanged up on me so I called again. I asked for person who I was talking with before. That's when she introduced herself to me as the owner/manager. I was shocked the way she talked to me when I heard that. Very arrogant. She had also asked me if I would know what was wrong with my dog? like what was her point? she said all I want is less expense. After spending thousands of money in her clinic! My dog also got his tooth pulled there. That's what I got. Because of how she treats me on the phone, I will have to look now for a new veterinary clinic. I Just thought I'd share with you my experience today at this clinic with the Owner/Manager. I told her that I thought she would have been nicer to talk to or sympathetic. My dog has heart failure and It cost me $200 a month for his medicines that I get from them not including all the exam fees.

The reason for one star missing is the railway on the north side of the clinic. I waited at least 10 minutes for train crawling by. If you plan to stop by the clinic, just try to avoid 9:30-ish in the morning and 5:30 in the evening, of course, if you entry from north side.
Other than that, everything is just fine. The staff are nice, the price is reasonable. I can't say they are the cheapest, but at least they aren't the most expensive one. It's worth to try. My two neighbor always go there for their 6 four-leg friends annual check, vaccines and teeth cleaning.

We have been taken our little dog odie, to see Dr. Herb stretch for approx 3 years, in that time odie was diagnosed 1 and half years ago with Cushing disease, herb gave odie great care, and my wife Linda gave him non stop loving care at home, he was our best little companion, and we loved him endlessly, two weeks ago we took him in because he had a bad seizure, we knew it was going to be bad, herb was not there so we seen another vet, she said it was his time, we were heart broken, she said she would take him and bring him back because we wanted to be with him and say good bye, about ten minutes later an assistant brought him back in a cardboard box to us, that ripped our hearts out right then on the spot, he was our little precious minpin, and we will never forgive them for that, if anyone who truly loved their pets, know it's so heartbreaking not to say goodbye to your little pet, you loved so much.

Being newer to the area, I chose Spruce Grove Veterinary as they were recommended to me by the place where I kennel my dogs. I called and was happy to get an appointment fairly quickly. The facility itself is very nice and clean with plenty of space in the waiting area. There's also quite a large selection of pet food and supplies available for purchase. I arrived 15 min early (as requested) so they could get all my info since I'm a new customer. After we got all the paperwork squared away I had a seat with my dog. I waited in the main area for 5 min or so before I was ushered into an exam room. I waited another 15 min past my appointment time before the vet showed up. That's one of my biggest pet peeves, because as a customer I'm expected to show up on time, as should the person I have an appointment with. I do understand that sh*t happens, and luckily I didn't have any other appointments that morning. It would have been nice if someone would have popped their head in and said "The vet is running a bit behind, sorry. She'll be with you shortly." But alas, that did not happen. The vet who examined my dogs was Dr. R.M. Pfeifer and she was AWESOME!!! She was kind and gentle with my dogs. Her exam was very thorough, and she made sure to point out that my dogs were very well cared for (healthy weight, good muscle tone, nice coat, nails trimmed, clean ears etc). I really appreciate hearing that from a professional. She had another lovely lady shadowing her and we all had a nice chat.I'm also going to acknowledge (as some other reviewers did) that some the reception staff seemed a bit...gruff. Let me clarify, no one was rude to me. Just a bit on edge in general. I also understand that it likely comes from getting crapped on day in and day out by customers. But ladies, if you're reading this it wouldn't hurt to lighten up a bit! It's ok to smile!Anyway, my dogs were well taken care of which is the important part. I can't wait to see everyone's happy, smiling faces when I return. :)

Horrible horrible experience here with my now deceased dog. They do not care about your pets. My dog was brought in with emergency needs and they turned her away because they were 'closing'. I was out of the country and they refused to help. After my dog died we started an investigation and found out they had 'altered' her records on her prior visit (right before I left I took her in for a checkup..) to avoid getting into trouble over a mis-diagnosis... a kind soul who knew me handed her 'original' docs out the back door... now the Alberta Vet Med Association is investigating.... The front end staff are some of the most crude and rude people I have ever experienced as well. This clinic should be shut down .

I can't say enough great things about Spruce Grove Vet. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I trust our vet (Dr. Pfifer) very much. She always lays out our options and is upfront about cost. The clinic has fair pricing. Lots of vets so I can usually see someone on short notice if needed.

I dealt with this clinic for several years while lived in the area and bred
Poms and American Eskimos, and always had great service, and no matter what vet I saw they were always gentle and caring whether it was a puppy or an adult dog they were seeing.
We are back here for a visit and have an adult Pom with us needing some attention and I know we will get the best care from this clinic.

I was surprised at reading a couple of the reviews. Years ago I used them for my 2 small yorkie's and my mom for her pug... we never had any issues. I've also referred customers of mine to them as well, all with positive experiences. The clinic is always clean, with any accidents bring cleaned up right away. The meds are double checked by a colleague before being given to the customer to catch any errors.I go see Dr. Stretch as he's awesome, but have also seen other vets with no troubles. I appreciate paying waaaaayyyy less vs other places that I've been to and been overcharged. The doctors are caring and only recommend things that you actually need instead of overcharging which is great!I will continue going personally as well as referring people to their services.

I have been going to this clinic for several years since we adopted our 2 rescue dogs. Great service from Ursula who always takes our pet food orders like clockwork. And once some fabulous assistance from Dr. Terletski in the wee hours of the morning.
Now, in the last week, we have had 2 emergencies. First emerg was exploratory surgery on our older dog. $1400 for abdominal surgery including ultrasound (this is very reasonable) and they were able to assemble the team and do the surgery within a couple of hours. The kennel staff were compassionate and professional with updates and aftercare.
Next up was today -- our other dog broke his nail (overgrown -- our fault entirely). Again, reasonable prices and they saw us for treatment right away.
Can't say enough great things about Dr. Lewis. She tells you what she is thinking in a Gilmore Girl kind of way, which I absolutely love. She is very clear when explaining why she is recommending a certain course. Although I hope to never see her again :) I do appreciate the care she has given us.

The staff at this clinic are great. My dog Sarah was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and Dr. Stretch was so wonderful. He took the time to answer all of my questions and was very informative. He was also gentle in the way he spoke about her diagnosis. It made me feel like he genuinely cared about Sarah's health and how I would take the news. I've also dealt with Dr. Terletski who is Sarah's usual vet. She did a follow up on her since her diagnosis with Dr. Stretch. She spent a lot of time with me answering questions, providing information on our options, explaining other scenarios she's seen in the past, and as well as honest input when it came to my dogs well being.
Thank you to Dr. Stretch, Dr. Terletski and the staff up front for always being so helpful and kind.

Went here for years. Decided to stop using them after our daughter had a unfortunate incident with this clinic. So we decide we would also try a different clinic and realize how much better experience that was compared to how our visits had been to Spruce Grove clinic. Our experience with Spruce Grove was not bad, but never was excellent. The new clinic we chose to try is more pleasant for us and our pet & and less costs as well.

We have been clients at this office for over 5 years and is by far one of the best vets we have gone to in our 15+ years of animal ownership. While we make a point of seeing our preferred vet (Dr. Pfeifer is professional, compassionate, amazing with cats and their people), we have on occasion seen other vets at the office in sudden situations (injury/illness) and received the same outstanding care (Dr. Gingras and Dr. Perez are also wonderful).I acknowledge some other comments i have seen online that staff behind the counter can at times be a little rough around the edges, but frankly that has more to do with how people approach the staff (and i have seen some people be compete jackasses to the staff). These ladies are good at what they do and if you approach them with respect and understanding they will do everything they can to assist you. Twice they have found a way to get me in on short notice, no hiccup and no problem. They have always been professional with us.I highly recommended Spruce Grove Veternary Clinic to anybody in need of a new vet.

We had our first visit to spruce grove veterinary clinic today after or boxer became ill, we were worried he may have possibly eaten a plastic part off a toy, he had us up most of the night gagging and coughing but unable to get sick, after reading some great reviews online I decided to call and see if I could get an app at the clinic they got me in only a few hours later !the staff was great on the phone! Then when we arrived we had doctor Kudla she was soo kind and gentle with our dog completely put me at ease and went threw all the possibilities of what may be wronge, after doing some xrays which we could hear them in the next room giving him and comforting while doing so, we ruled out a blockage ,but also had her take us back and show us the xrays and what she was seeing was more so he had a very upset stomach ,she also noticed and brought to our attention that our dog although he is only 5 is already having issues with his spine fusing together which will one day require surgery ,but meanwhile letting us know what supplements we can give him now to help further deteriation! She prescribed some meds went thew them all in detail as he was on 3 different ones and assured us if we had any questions or concerns not to hesitate to call, and now with all the xrays and meds ,visit i was expecting a large bill and to my surprise they were very reasonable 270 ,I live in edmonton and its about a 25-30 min drive but beyond worth it and im very glad I found it we will be going here for all our dogs future needs , I highly recommend them to any pet owner ,staff and doctors are simply amazing :)

Dr. Lewis treated my mom like she was an idiot when she explained that my cat had an ear infection AFTER the anesthetic she put him under two days before to shave him and clean his ears and teeth. She took him to give him antibiotics and monitor his eating and give him fluids and told my mom that she would call her the next day to pick him up. The vet assistant called in the morning to tell my mom that he had still been uncomfortable and shaking his head and told her that Dr. Lewis would call her when she got in. Although my mom called 4 times throughout the day, she would not respond so by the time the vet clinic was going to close she drove there to see how my cat was. She then had to wait an hour to talk to Dr. Lewis and get my cat. We will not be going back there for this reason.

There were some concerns with our 2 large dogs and Dr. Gringas, and the Spruce Grove Vet clinic, came highly recommended by a few friends with dogs. Both dogs were handled with kind professionalism. The older dog had 2 operations (one operation by Dr. Gringas and the other by Dr. Stretch) and I feel their care and skill enabled him to bounce back in record time). The total fee, which included a biopsy, teeth cleaning, and a general once over, was extremely reasonable. Dr. Gringas called and inquired about his recovery and again with the biopsy results. I appreciated her concern and am very grateful!

She had another lovely lady shadowing her and we all had a nice chat.I'm also going to acknowledge (as some other reviewers did) that some the reception staff seemed a bit...gruff. Let me clarify, no one was rude to me. Just a bit on edge in general. I also understand that it likely comes from getting crapped on day in and day out by customers. But ladies, if you're reading this it wouldn't hurt to lighten up a bit! It's ok to smile!Anyway, my dogs were well taken care of which is the important part. I can't wait to see everyone's happy, smiling faces when I return. :)

Horrible horrible experience here with my now deceased dog. They do not care about your pets. My dog was brought in with emergency needs and they turned her away because they were 'closing'. I was out of the country and they refused to help. After my dog died we started an investigation and found out they had 'altered' her records on her prior visit (right before I left I took her in for a checkup..) to avoid getting into trouble over a mis-diagnosis... a kind soul who knew me handed her 'original' docs out the back door... now the Alberta Vet Med Association is investigating.... The front end staff are some of the most crude and rude people I have ever experienced as well. This clinic should be shut down .

I can't say enough great things about Spruce Grove Vet. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I trust our vet (Dr. Pfifer) very much. She always lays out our options and is upfront about cost. The clinic has fair pricing. Lots of vets so I can usually see someone on short notice if needed.

Poms and American Eskimos, and always had great service, and no matter what vet I saw they were always gentle and caring whether it was a puppy or an adult dog they were seeing.
We are back here for a visit and have an adult Pom with us needing some attention and I know we will get the best care from this clinic.

I was surprised at reading a couple of the reviews. Years ago I used them for my 2 small yorkie's and my mom for her pug... we never had any issues. I've also referred customers of mine to them as well, all with positive experiences. The clinic is always clean, with any accidents bring cleaned up right away. The meds are double checked by a colleague before being given to the customer to catch any errors.I go see Dr. Stretch as he's awesome, but have also seen other vets with no troubles. I appreciate paying waaaaayyyy less vs other places that I've been to and been overcharged. The doctors are caring and only recommend things that you actually need instead of overcharging which is great!I will continue going personally as well as referring people to their services.

I have been going to this clinic for several years since we adopted our 2 rescue dogs. Great service from Ursula who always takes our pet food orders like clockwork. And once some fabulous assistance from Dr. Terletski in the wee hours of the morning.
Now, in the last week, we have had 2 emergencies. First emerg was exploratory surgery on our older dog. $1400 for abdominal surgery including ultrasound (this is very reasonable) and they were able to assemble the team and do the surgery within a couple of hours. The kennel staff were compassionate and professional with updates and aftercare.
Next up was today -- our other dog broke his nail (overgrown -- our fault entirely). Again, reasonable prices and they saw us for treatment right away.
Can't say enough great things about Dr. Lewis. She tells you what she is thinking in a Gilmore Girl kind of way, which I absolutely love. She is very clear when explaining why she is recommending a certain course. Although I hope to never see her again :) I do appreciate the care she has given us.

The staff at this clinic are great. My dog Sarah was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and Dr. Stretch was so wonderful. He took the time to answer all of my questions and was very informative. He was also gentle in the way he spoke about her diagnosis. It made me feel like he genuinely cared about Sarah's health and how I would take the news. I've also dealt with Dr. Terletski who is Sarah's usual vet. She did a follow up on her since her diagnosis with Dr. Stretch. She spent a lot of time with me answering questions, providing information on our options, explaining other scenarios she's seen in the past, and as well as honest input when it came to my dogs well being.
Thank you to Dr. Stretch, Dr. Terletski and the staff up front for always being so helpful and kind.

Went here for years. Decided to stop using them after our daughter had a unfortunate incident with this clinic. So we decide we would also try a different clinic and realize how much better experience that was compared to how our visits had been to Spruce Grove clinic. Our experience with Spruce Grove was not bad, but never was excellent. The new clinic we chose to try is more pleasant for us and our pet & and less costs as well.

We have been clients at this office for over 5 years and is by far one of the best vets we have gone to in our 15+ years of animal ownership. While we make a point of seeing our preferred vet (Dr. Pfeifer is professional, compassionate, amazing with cats and their people), we have on occasion seen other vets at the office in sudden situations (injury/illness) and received the same outstanding care (Dr. Gingras and Dr. Perez are also wonderful).I acknowledge some other comments i have seen online that staff behind the counter can at times be a little rough around the edges, but frankly that has more to do with how people approach the staff (and i have seen some people be compete jackasses to the staff). These ladies are good at what they do and if you approach them with respect and understanding they will do everything they can to assist you. Twice they have found a way to get me in on short notice, no hiccup and no problem. They have always been professional with us.I highly recommended Spruce Grove Veternary Clinic to anybody in need of a new vet.

We had our first visit to spruce grove veterinary clinic today after or boxer became ill, we were worried he may have possibly eaten a plastic part off a toy, he had us up most of the night gagging and coughing but unable to get sick, after reading some great reviews online I decided to call and see if I could get an app at the clinic they got me in only a few hours later !the staff was great on the phone! Then when we arrived we had doctor Kudla she was soo kind and gentle with our dog completely put me at ease and went threw all the possibilities of what may be wronge, after doing some xrays which we could hear them in the next room giving him and comforting while doing so, we ruled out a blockage ,but also had her take us back and show us the xrays and what she was seeing was more so he had a very upset stomach ,she also noticed and brought to our attention that our dog although he is only 5 is already having issues with his spine fusing together which will one day require surgery ,but meanwhile letting us know what supplements we can give him now to help further deteriation! She prescribed some meds went thew them all in detail as he was on 3 different ones and assured us if we had any questions or concerns not to hesitate to call, and now with all the xrays and meds ,visit i was expecting a large bill and to my surprise they were very reasonable 270 ,I live in edmonton and its about a 25-30 min drive but beyond worth it and im very glad I found it we will be going here for all our dogs future needs , I highly recommend them to any pet owner ,staff and doctors are simply amazing :)

Dr. Lewis treated my mom like she was an idiot when she explained that my cat had an ear infection AFTER the anesthetic she put him under two days before to shave him and clean his ears and teeth. She took him to give him antibiotics and monitor his eating and give him fluids and told my mom that she would call her the next day to pick him up. The vet assistant called in the morning to tell my mom that he had still been uncomfortable and shaking his head and told her that Dr. Lewis would call her when she got in. Although my mom called 4 times throughout the day, she would not respond so by the time the vet clinic was going to close she drove there to see how my cat was. She then had to wait an hour to talk to Dr. Lewis and get my cat. We will not be going back there for this reason.

There were some concerns with our 2 large dogs and Dr. Gringas, and the Spruce Grove Vet clinic, came highly recommended by a few friends with dogs. Both dogs were handled with kind professionalism. The older dog had 2 operations (one operation by Dr. Gringas and the other by Dr. Stretch) and I feel their care and skill enabled him to bounce back in record time). The total fee, which included a biopsy, teeth cleaning, and a general once over, was extremely reasonable. Dr. Gringas called and inquired about his recovery and again with the biopsy results. I appreciated her concern and am very grateful!
