I have been going to this vet for around 8 years and they are are always great. They do not swindle money out of you or rip you off. I have had this problem with other vets suggesting surgery that was not necessary. If you are looking for someone who will tell you the truth and not waste your money this is the place. Nothing but professionalism here. Have never been treated anything but amazing. They are good with animals and if you tell them something they listen. I have had many bad vet experiences over the years with a chronically ill dog. These people have been a lifesaver for my family. Kind and compassionate and the place has never been anything but sparkling clean in all the times I have been there. Read Less

They have looked after my dogs for 26 years. Today my dog KC was unable to breath. When I called in I was told they had no appointments available but they could see me tomorrow. I again-said my dog was in distress. I was told the same thing again. I called spruce grove vet clinic and they took her in immediately. I had to have her put down by a stranger to her. Totally heartbroken and very disappointed by Yellowheads unprofessional response. I will be speaking to them tomorrow and will expect that they severely reprimand the person that they have on their phone. I have all the respect in the world for Dr. Long and Dr. Dornable but they need to train their front end staff to have more respect for their patience. Very Disappointed Read Less

I was recommended by a friend to go here. After explaining my experience to them they apologized. I brought my cat in to be neutered and tattooed. The person I spoke to on the phone with told me to be there in between 7 to 7:30. So I arrived in the middle only to find out that they weren't open til 7:30, so my poor cat who is terrified of car rides was stuck in the car for extra unnecessary time. The staff is not very professional and they managed to mess up a stamp tattoo on a sedated cat. Read Less

We had taken our dog because he was coughing excessively. She had done x-rays on him which showed he had asthma. She ruled out an enlarged heart. She said his heart was good. I asked her if he had a heart murmur and she said no. She had put him on a puffer with a steroid and pills for coughing. This all happened a year ago. While on holidays this year his coughing worsened and his body became swollen. We took him to a vet in BC and explained what he was on with the puffer. She asked why he was on that puffer with a steroid and I explained because had asthma. She then listened to his breathing and she told me he had a stage 5 heart murmur and that she was sure his heart was enlarged. She did x-rays and it showed his enlarged heart and that it was pressing against his windpipe. She then showed me the lower part of the x ray and it showed that he had hip dysplasia in both hips. The x-ray she took showed showed the enlarged heart, the asthma and the hip dysplasia. Why wasn't this noted by the first veterinarian? Since he has been off the puffer and on heart medication he is a different dog. He has energy and the swelling of his body has gone down. Not only this veterinarian but also Parkland Veterinary clinic never correctly diagnosed his heart murmur. Read Less

I brought my kitten in for a set of vaccinations and initial exam. I thought the vet was good, very quick and gentle with my cat. The only issues I had was we sat there waiting for 35 minutes before we were able to go into a room. There was only one other client the entire time I sat there with my stressed out kitten, with an empty room available. It would have been nice to bring the kitten in a little early to let him out of his carrying cage and let him get familiar with the room. The other issue was when we were finally brought into the room, I let him walk around and realized he had walked through a huge PUDDLE OF URINE left on the floor from the previous appointment. That concerned me regarding the lack of cleanliness and other health issues that may be overlooked at this clinic. I informed the vet who apologized and eventually had one of the girls mop it up. I don't know if I will give this clinic another opportunity as I have never had these issues at Stony Vet Clinic. Read Less
