I am not posting to criticize the veterinary capabilities of this clinic. I am posting to state that I have been treated unfairly and completely unprofessionally. I have been dealing with this clinic since they bought it from Dr. Leishman. I did not know them but gave them my business and trust. I have a small hobby farm. I have always prided myself in paying my bills IMMEDIATELY and supporting the local businesses. When I would go away on holidays, I left my credit card info with agwest and permisision for them to do as they felt necessary. One time they had to euthanize our old gelding. And rightly so. The bill was paid while I was still away. Upon our return, I did however QUESTION the breakdown on the bill. It was explained to me and I thought all was clear. Little did I know that they put a note on my file to NOT deal with me again BUT THEY NEVER TOLD ME THAT! Last year I called and asked for an apt to have our horses teeth floated and our new geldings sheath cleaned. They told me it would be at least SIX WEEKS! When I questioned, they admitted that I was blacklisted! I went to their office to buy some wormer and discuss the situation. They sold me the wormer and discussed the note on my file. I THOUGHT the matter of me being blacklisted was cleared up. Perhaps it was a misunderstanding? Last week I called them at 7:31 am ( they open at 7:30am) because my horse was seriously injured. They said there was NO VET available and to call someone else. In my panic, I asked for a name. They gave me a name that I could not understand. I asked for the spelling. They did not know it. I asked for a phone number. They did not have it. REALLY??? We hauled my horse all the way from mission to aldergrove to PATON AND MARTIN clinic - whom I have never dealt with. They were wonderful, professional, caring and took care of my horses immediately ( I did not tell them anything about AGWEST). Later that day I called AGWEST and asked if there was still a "problem". I was told they would call me back. Two days later I received an email from their office saying that " Agwest vets have asked that your service be taken to another veterinary clinic"!!! REALLY????? Because I had the nerve to ask them YEARS AGO to explain the breakdown of the bill for my horse that they euthanized? Remember, that bill was paid IMMEDIATELY! I responded to that email and asked that one of the vets call me to discuss the matter. Three days went by. No reply from them. I sent another email ( both emails were very nicely worded) asking AGAIN for a vet to do the professional thing and call me to discuss. Still to this day, no reply. I am NOT begging or asking them to take me as a client. I do, however, feel that I have been mistreated, disrespected and ignored. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. In my own business life, I deal with a variety of doctors ( not vets). I have NEVER been rude to any client of mine. I feel that AGWEST has been very rude to me. Agwest such wonderful knowledgeable and affordable equine vet services who not only know what there doing they care about you and your horse as a family. they have great yearly equine vet plans i have always used that give you lots of savings it as up with shots floating and exams and call out they give u an option to buy a yearly package to save on all of that within a year! Today we had an incident at the MHC with a horse. its foot was bleeding, the horse appeared to also be in a lot of pain. I suggested that we call Brent from agwest as he does live close. I have been using Agwest for my horse care since I moved to Canada 10 years ago. They are, in my opinion, some of the best vets that I have met. This is because of their knowledge, that they take the time to continually update, their compassion and respect for the animals, but also, the way they look after and work with the owner. They will refer if needed, and will only carry out necessary procedures that will positively affect the outcome of the situation. The pricing is fair, and they are easy to contact, and will answer happily answer all of your questions. I have been fortunate to have Agwest as my vets for quite a few years now. They have seen me through the ups and downs of horse ownership. Steve and Brent are kind, compassionate, and very excellent equine veterinarians. In my experience, they go above and beyond for their clients. Their office staff are very professional, supportive and knowledgeable. Yvonne has been a special friend to me over the years. Her's is the face I look for when I go through their door. This practice (both vets and staff) have continually gone above and beyond for me with all my horses. I met Steve Chiasson when my original vet couldn't come out to see my new born filly-that was 7 years ago. Since then, Steve, Brent and Lisa have all been willing to come out for emergencies or routine calls, always with a smile and always considering me part of the team. All of my horses have been treated with the utmost respect and kindness. The office staff are a huge part of the practice, too. Yvonne is the first person you speak to, and she is always calm and reassuring. She remembers everyone. Talking to her is like talking to a friend, but she is also incredibly professional. She knows her stuff!! The techs are knowledgeable; lab results are sent back quickly with follow ups arranged. I am very happy with this vet practice.
