Andrew W. In response to your review on Yelp. We are not your vet as you are not the person on any records or consent forms at our hospital. We are not the regular Veterinary Hospital for this cat. In fact we have not seen this cat as a patient since October of 2014. These records were faxed to another animal hospital. While boarding, your cat did not show any signs of illness. She ate, urinated and had frequent firm bowel movements. At no time was there any vomiting diarrhea or obvious signs of illness. She was groomed daily, fresh bedding minimum twice daily, fresh food and water twice daily. She was a very vocal cat when spoken to, petted and combed. While drawing the insulin for your cat the bottle was dropped and it broke. This was replaced with a full bottle at no cost to you. This was done as a courtesy, we were under no obligation to replace the bottle. This was an $80.00 cost to the clinic. There were also no additional charges for giving your cat 2 injections per day. This was not a simple boarding cat, this was a hospitalization cat when medication is involved. We would not have noticed if she wasn't walking as she was a boarding cat not a resident cat with open access to the hospital. She appeared to be moving around her kennel with no difficulty. It is not out of the norm for a cat to sleep in its litter box. No your cat did not spend 7 days sleeping in the littler box. So no there were no RED FLAGS to indicate a problem. I found your reaction to your cat strange at pickup when you asked your cat if she was in pain. Not a normal reaction from a client picking up a boarding animal. Were you aware there was a problem before she came and failed to disclose this to us? She did not have infected cuts on her face, she has feline acne which is quite common in cats.. These are small pustules that have probably been there for a long time, another fact you failed to disclose. I believe you knew because when you phoned minutes after picking the cat up you said that you were wiping cats mouth and found a puss engorged gaping hole in your cats lip. I don't know of a client that would pick their cat up, take it home and wipe its mouth. I saw this very small rash when you returned, there were no gaping holes and no puss pouring from any wounds. Your cat had no interaction with any animals during its stay. You mention pancreatitis, did you in fact have a diagnosis made somewhere else and your cat was hospitalized and is being treated for this or are you assuming as it was one of the concerns our doctor talked to you about. When the Doctor explained to you to do bloodwork you were insistant that this be free. Even on the consent form that was signed for boarding it clearly states that any medical treatment would be charged to you so at no time would any medical treatment have been free. You were extremely rude and abusive to the Doctor that was trying to help you with your concerns. Yelling and swearing at him, to the point that he asked you to leave. At no time did you ask a staff member if you had left the cat another day it would have died and our response was "well I hope not".Maybe in the future when you right a review you may want to include the truth as this is also helpful to anyone wanting to take the time to read it.
