They told me my cat needed an $1,130 dental cleaning and extraction, after taking him away into the back and returning thirty seconds later. Not enough time for an exam, let alone a thorough one. Excellent vet (Erica) I attended this clinic for the first time as my puppy was critically ill when I found him in the morning he looked really bad looked like he was on the brink of death. I rush him first to the closest clinic in town the vet there was at lunch so the techs checked him and said he is cold rush him to the ER. his temp was 33.8c they said if you make it!! I thought omg!!! I knew there is another Vet down the block and prayed they wouldn't be at lunch as well. I was so LUCKY the Vet there immediately dropped everything to help save my puppies life to which she thought he might not make it. I can not thank her and her clinic enough. They let us sit with our dog which the IV transfused and watch he come back to life basically a miracle. I am so grateful words can not say enough how our family feels. The facility is bright and clean and the staff are knowledgable and caring. We've never had a bad experience! Additional bonus is a "low stress" room that you can ask to use if your pet is completely nervous about being at the vet which helps tremendously in keeping them calm and makes for a more accurate diagnosis. I took my dog for flea medication. The girl at the counter told me about the various types and I chose one that worked for 3 months for fleas and ticks but not for worms. Then I asked for worming medication. She and the vet tech there administered both meds on my Chihuahua for over 70.00 and within an hour she threw it all up. I phoned them and told them about it. The reception said, yes we don't recommend you give them both at once. I told her they did all the administering of the meds! She said well I'll mention it to them. Not come back we will give you more at a discount, or at cost, nothing. Just I will mention it to them. Most expensive useless medical experience I have ever had! It has been a tough week for us. We decided a month ago to have a biopsy done on jacks muzzle as he had a sore that just did not want to heal! 2 weeks ago, Jack was diagnosed with a low grade cancerous tumour on the right size of his muzzle very close to his nostril! Rick and I decided to go ahead with the surgery to have the tumour removed. On Thursday he had the tumour removed and the area has been retested to ensure the surgeon got all of it. Jack it doing extremely well and his nephew has been so awesome over the past couple of days just staying by his side and comforting him gently! This is something personal to us and are not the type of people to share this kind of news publicly especially social media such as Facebook but we owe a huge thank you to Aldergrove animal hospital, Dr. Jeff, dr. What an amazing staff and facility! We were referred to AAH by our local vet to host our dog Lola Bean during TPLO surgery. We've never experienced a more kind, caring, organized, and professional veterinary staff. Before, during and after Lola's surgery the incredible vet techs provided us with information and kind concern for our little dog; including texting and emailing us the day of and day after to check in on us! I came to Aldergrove Animal Hospital through referral of a friend due to a botched surgery on my dog from a vet that had no business performing such a task.  As you can imagine I was very hesitant about who would be correcting the mistake and how it would be done.  Unlike my other vet, Dr. Bowra sat down with me to discuss the options with full disclosure.  He told me that there are general practitioners and then there are the specialist, just like in the human world.  He then laid out a plan in detail for both the surgery, preformed by a highly recommended specialist, as well as the recovery plan, which included a full service rehab specialist.  Needless to say, from surgery, to recovery, rehab and check ups, everything, every step of the way through this stressful time was a weight off my shoulders. My dog is now fully recovered and getting on with her life after over a year of living with injury and a surgery gone bad.  They even gave her a certificate of bravery at the end of it all!  The Aldergrove Animal Hospital team is the real deal, they are honest and competent, something I have to say that in the vet business, is a rarity, Read Less

I am rating this place zero stars.On the surface it looks like a well equipped and staffed animal hospital. People seem to care about your pets but what they really care about is money. Examinations,  vaccinations and medications are overpriced. Once my Dachshunds were given a full examination. I had to  remind them to examine their teeth and their ears. Otherwise they would not have done it. The whole exam took less than 5 minutes and was quite expensive.  On three occasions I've tried to see a vet 20 to 30 minutes before closing time, in an emergency. To no avail. Once the vet was there but according to staff was leaving and unwilling to see my dog although it was an emergency. Most recently my Dachshund hurt his  back and almost completely lost the use of his hind legs.  He was unable to urinate and was clearly in distress. Again, although an emergency, the vet  was unwilling to see him because he had other appointments. I had to drive 30 minutes to Albatross Veterinary Clinic were the vet stopped seeing other patients just to assist my dog in this emergency and with a catheter drained the urine and helped my Dachshund who was clearly in distress. He took the time, about 30 minutes and gave me a great deal of consideration and advice. To top this off the bill was extremely reasonable. This is what a real vet should be! To add insult to injury I was called two days later!! to ask me how my dog was doing. He is recovering just fine but not thanks to your help! Read Less

A few years ago my cat got very ill. The staff at Aldergrove Animal Hospital took such amazing care of Princess. I had such a great experience with them that I continue to take Princess there whenever the need arises. I appreciate the time they take and the care put into what they do. Presently we are dealing with food sensitivities. The staff has taken extra time to explaine the options, order in speciality food and keep in contact on a regular basis to see how Princess is doing with her new diet. If you are looking for a veterinary office, Aldergrove Animal Hospital is a very good choice. All the staff are incredibly friendly and include the client in part of the decision-making process. We have one dog in particular, Sophie, who over the years has been a lemon dog. By this I don't mean she is yellow, but she has had medical problems and challenges ever since she was a baby. Most recently she was cut up severely by a fallen glass window pane. During this most recent episode, all the staff were very professional and competent. Both the vets, Sharon and Jeff are very caring and pragmatic. Jen who is in the SPAW has also dealt with Sophie and again is professional competent and caring. Hi Everyone. My wife and I have been going to the Aldergrove Animal Hospital for a few years now. We used to go to a vet in Langley, but were highly recommended to bring our pets here. Since then, we have had nothing but the best of care for our pets. They have made a profile of them and always let us know when it is time for a follow up check. They also call us just to see how both of them are doing, ( as they are both old ), how they are reacting to their medications, treatments and food. I cannot say enough about the staff and DR Jeff. They always treat everyone with the utmost respect, go out of their way to help you or answer any questions you have. All of the staff is highly qualified in each of their individual areas and I have never seen anyone with out a smile on their faces. This makes it an extremely pleasant place to bring your pets. We started coming to Aldergrove Animal Hospital a year ago when we adopted our beloved dog. We have been in a number of times in the last year for shots, teeth cleaning, neutering, illness, nail clippings, the works. We are Gold Plan members and I love it! I definitely recommend the health plan and the Aldergrove Animal Hospital. We always come out happy and feeling better. While they were friendly and appeared to love pets, the bill reflected they loved money more. They waved their hand in front of his eye and told me was blind. Put a single drop of stain and a single drop of antiseptic in his eye....Then said I need a specialist as he didnèt know anything about eyes. Total bill almost $200 was there about 5 minutes...A shame to animal lovers and their profession. Will never return. Read Less

My first personal experience was met with kindness and swift resolution to a very nasty tussle our kitty was in, leaving an infected wound on half if his face. Very nice people, and very competent. Unfortunately, we no longer take our dogs because the vet is forever trying to sell us a service, device or medication. Some preparations were just not necessary. (I have extensive nursing experience) Our younger dog had 2 physicals within 4 months as the vet would not do his vacs without a physical. Totally a waste of money! (and very expensive!) They are also very pricey as we now have a new vet and prices are much more realistic. Read Less

This place is what a vet's office should be. Front desk staff who are totally about animals and fawn over puppies to geriatrics equally. Facilities are clean, and there is a full pet rehabilitation centre complete with swim therapy and everything. We have taken our pets here since 2003 and have found the treatment to be top notch. The vet even wrote a recommendation for us to a breeder to help us pass the sniff test for getting one of her pups. Nobody likes to go to the vet for bad things, but I trust these folks with my fur babies. Read Less
