When I adopted a rescue puppy my sister recommended me to her vet, Dr. Carnes. Despite living in Vancouver, I make the trek out to Aldergrove because I have had negative experiences with the vets in my area, and after my first visit with Dr. Carnes I knew he'd be our vet. Not only is he kind and gentle with Harley, who, given her circumstances, showed a reasonable amount of fear, but everyone there (Lori, Nicole, Holly) have all been absolutely wonderful to talk to.On our first visit they surprised us with a free exam because she was a rescue, along with 6 weeks complimentary pet insurance (which I later would end up needing and using), a bag of dog food, and a CD with sounds for socializing the puppy, along with a ton of other info.Unfortunately poor Harley has had a host of problems, and in the 5 weeks I have had her she has been to see Dr. Carnes 3 times. When we returned exactly one week from our first visit because we found she had worms, they were kind enough to only charge us for the medication, rather than also charging us for an additional exam since we had just been there. When we found yet ANOTHER type of worm after solving the first set, the team at Country Grove were kind enough to transfer the prescription to a vet closer to me because I was dealing with a medical emergency in my family and couldn't make the trek out.Throughout all this I have called and spoken to Lori several times to troubleshoot poor Harley's upset tummy, and she's been helpful and supportive and not once has she pressured me to come in unnecessarily. All the costs have been extremely reasonable and I would recommend Dr. Carnes to any fur-parent - he's well worth the 1 hour trip each way.
