Rant to Armstrong vet and their complete lack of compassion. My parents recently took their dog to here because over some time he was having issues pooping and didn't seem to be doing well. They got him in with one of the Dr. Jerry Out who gave their dog a check over and it was determined he had tumor in his rectum causing these issues. Dr. Jerry Out was kind and explained to them that that it would be a very invasive surgery and at his age (age 12) probably not a great outcome and said he maybe had a month. My parents wanted to and were willing to do anything to help their dog live and be comfortable. He wasn't just a dog to them. He was family. He sent my parents home with gravel/something for the pain. That day he got some rest but the next day he was back pacing, panting, and shaking. He was not doing good. He wasn't eating or drinking. Wouldn't take his pill to help ease him. He truly looked bad, uncomfortable, and in pain. My parents were in turmoil about what to do. They didn't want him to suffer. I went to see my parents and what I saw was truly heartbreaking. Their eyes swollen and red from tears. And all them wanting was to make the best decision they could for their dog. I laid with Hulk my family dog of 12 years while he panted and shook uncontrollably. I watched my parents cry and come to the decision to do the right thing and put their baby to rest. They called the after hours vet around 8:30pm and explained the situation and that they did not want to watch their dog suffer and that they think that it would be best to bring him in to put him down. Dr. Stefan Schwieger met them at the office for 9:30 and made them feel like pieces of crap. As if they weren't making one of the hardest decisions of their life Dr. Stefan Schwieger proceeds to say "doesn't look like he's ready to go" and wanted to give him a shot for pain and send them home. Sooo what they are supposed to continue to watch him go down hill and not be able to pass a bowel movement and continue to suffer. He had cancer. They were told he had maybe 1 month. They were supposed to continue to bring him in for a shot of pain meds? Dr Stefan Schwieger should be ashamed of himself. The unnecessary pain you caused my parents will never be forgiven. Read Less
