I am hesitant to write the great review and five star rating that they honestly deserve because I selfishly do not want them to get busier. First off, this clinic has the most reasonable prices I have found but it does not compromise the care. They don't try to upsell and recommend unnecessary treatments and tests which I really appreciate. Best Vets ever. Dr. Dhaliwal and Dr. Sandhu are extremely knowledgeable and always a pleasure to deal with. The front office staff are extremely helpful in fixing appointments and dealing with the insurance claims. Our dog is super healthy thanks to Central City Animal Hospital. Read Less

I have brought both of my large breed dogs to Dr. Dhaliwal. He is amazing and caring. Through the years we have had to have some surgeries (dew claw and dental work) as well as general vaccines and nail trim. They are amazing here. Can't say enough good things. Read Less

We live about 10 minutes walk to Central City Animal Hospital.  When ever our dog needs annual shots, dental cleaning or any other vet services, we always come here.  In the past ten years, we never have any trouble in getting an appointment.  We are always pleased with the way Dr. Dhaliwal and his team looked after our dog.Our dog passed away this week due to natural cause.  Again, Dr. Dhaliwal and his team provided caring services to our dog in her final hours.  It is very difficult to lose a pet.  If we ever get another pet in the future, we will definitely engage this clinic.We highly recommend this place to any pet owner for their vet services. Our previous vet was Burrard Animal Hospital (great for what it is) - but since moving to the area, that hospital was not an option especially with the high price point. So based on the reviews for Central City I thought I would give it a try! I was VERY impressed!! We saw Dr. Sran and I could not have been more pleased by his service and care for my chihuahua x mini dachshund Presly. Not only did he take the time to listen to me prior to making assessments, but took the time to assess my pups conditions without rushing. He made a thorough evaluation of my pup, wrote it all down (even though it was not pertaining to our visit) ! Dr.Sran did not push procedures on me, instead told me honestly what he would do in my situation. Previous vets I have been too always push ALL procedures even though they may not be necessary. He took his time, did not rush us out of the room .. and I trusted that he was giving me honest service. Also pricing was superb! My puppy got blood work done and Dr. Sran himself called me with the results the following day! Most vets get reception to call with the information. This small detail went a long way for me. If you want a vet that clearly cares about your pet and gives honest service. 100% go with Dr. Sran who will go above and beyond to take care of your baby. I will be recommending Dr. Sran to anyone who asks!! Thank you!! :) ***If there was an option of HALF stars, I would dock half a star toward the waiting room that left much to be desired. However this is likely a reflection of their main focus being on your fur baby, great pricing and service! Look past the sad waiting room, and focus on the service! I did a thorough search on vets around Burnaby area when I got a puppy. This hospital had decent reviews and they were more affordable than others so I decided to give this place a shot. I read some of the reviews here saying that there were some complications with spraying/ neutering but I thought it would be great if I could save some money on routine vaccines.The hospital is very tiny and is not well maintained. There is only one exam room and it looks like there is an operation room right behind the reception area.The exam room had blood stains, fur on the floor, and door knob was broken and some dirty napkin was stuffed in there.  Both Dr. Dhaliwal and Dr. Sran were gentle but their strong accent made it very difficult for my friend and I to communicate with them. I wanted to ask some questions but I gave up. I was planning on changing vet after the routine vaccines but I may have to look for other options even sooner. I don't feel comfortable going back because I'm afraid that my dog could catch something there and also I can't communicate well with the vets. Read Less

I have been seeing this vet for several years now and I will NOT go to another. Most amazing vet I've ever known and has been amazing with each and every single fur baby I have brought in. Front desk aren't always there, usually you have to wait for a while before they come out from the back room. The doctor won't tell you much about what's wrong with your pet, it will just tell you you need this shot or that shot. We've taken all three of our dogs to this vet since we got our second dog in 2014. The prices are very reasonable, what would have been a $450 spay + blood panel was $200 (including tattooing and flea treatment). Our old dog used to have a recurring skin problem, which only took one treatment to heal once it was prescribed here. When my older dog was passing away, I was all the way downtown and my sisters were home alone with him, no car or any means of getting him to a vet, and the staff there instructed them over the phone on how to keep him calm and take care of him until I was able to get back to Burnaby. By the time I got home, they had closed, but they gave me a list of emergency hospitals, and texted me a copy of his medical history for the new vet. Excellent service. Read Less

This vet gave our cat medication to combat an infection but was considered by a vet eye specialist to have been four times the safe dosage limit. Our cat is now blind as a result. Have made a complaint with the college of vet medicine and am planning to sue this vet. STAY AWAY FROM THIS VET!! Read Less

We have two dogs who get into a bunch of trouble. The vets here are reasonably priced, don't mess you around, and genuinely care about your pet. If we bring one dog in, the vet will usually have a quick look at the other one to check on them.Read Less

I took my dog here to get neutered. The price was cheaper than anywhere else. He got an infection on his stomach soon after. They gave him antibiotics. Now he has an ear infection. Before the neuter he was completely healthy and never had a problem.I guess you need to outweigh your options at the end of the day. Not the cleanest facility. The people that work there are very friendly and nice however my dog doesn't like it here one bit. Read Less

Great front desk staff, a friendly and knowledgeable vet, and jaw-dropping pricing for the exact same service and medication as many other comparable places.  They also offered a free follow-up to ensure the dogs were recovering properly. Twice we've been here for relatively minor ailments (thankfully) and both times we were seen by Dr. Dhaliwal.  We initially came here out of convenience, as we weren't too pleased with the services and prices of our previous vet. Even if this vet wasn't close we would still happily make the trek here!Dr. Dhaliwal immediately and amazingly calmed my very stressed out cat, and was incredibly thorough with his exam. He took his time, and explained everything that he was doing. He had a wonderful calm nature and it was obvious how much he cares for animals. Front counter staff were polite and friendly and above all, the cost was very affordable. Hopefully we won't have to come back for anything serious, but if we do, I'm very comfortable putting my fuzzbutts in his care. Read Less

My cat ate hard foam very very sick. We took him in here on an emergency basis and the staff and doctor were unbelievable.  He had surgery to remove the foam and I was extremely worried about the cost of this.  The price to save his life was very reasonable and I am extremely grateful. He fully healed and recovered very quickly.  When my cat ate something stupid a second time, I didn't hesitate to take him back in for life-saving surgery again.  They were just as great the second time around... hopefully we won't have to do this again~~! We chose this vet for our dog based on all the positive Yelp reviews and we definitely made the right choice! The vet and the front desk staff were extremely helpful and kind. Our poor girl was very scared but they made her feel comfortable and it was clear that they know how to handle any type of animal personality.Another fear we had coming to the vet was the price, but it was way better than we expected! In total, over 2 visits, we had: a complete blood test, a separate blood test for heart worm, a deworming pill, teeth cleaning and a tooth extraction (including anaesthetics and an 8-hour stay), and it was all about $500. We were expecting at least $1000! Oh and they even trimmed her nails while she was undergoing her tooth operation :) Highly recommended. Read Less

Dr. Dhaliwal is the best! I am SO happy a friend told me about this clinic.  We have no problem making the drive.  Because there is only the one Dr, limited staff (who are also fabulous) and the care is so personal...there are sometimes delays.  The trade off is that the care is amazing and the prices are reasonable. Dr. Dhaliwal's loving concern for animals is clearly evident.  He is one of the only vets I know who still makes house calls in emergent situations.  My heart was touched when he once peeked back into the room to give our dear kitty a warm smile when she was very under the weather.He seems cognizant that exorbitant vet bills can be a hardship and has worked with our family so the costs are reasonable.  Previously, in desperation we had taken our special girl to a homeopathic clinic in North Van where treatment cost the equivalent of a tropical vacation AND her health issues were never resolved.  Yet, one year after discovering the Central City Animal Hospital, she is in the best health ever :) Read Less
