Highly do NOT recommend. I rushed my cat to the clinic with a broken leg and instead of focusing on the emergency and an animal in pain, the vet tried to guilt us into a very expensive dental procedure before he would even discuss the traumatic injury. And it doesn't get any better from there. I was then told how terribly bad the situation (again the guilt approach) and quoted a price 25% higher than the surgeon I ended up taking my cat to (as I just did not feel right about this clinic and the pressure techniques). And there's more. Before the vet would discharge my cat to go for emergency surgery, the clinic insisted we pay for 2 entire bottles of medicine that we obviously would not be using since my cat would be hospitalized elsewhere, stating that they had opened them in the clinic so we must pay for the entire bottles. And finally, yes more, when I got my cat to the clinic where she would undergo surgery, the vet had to delay the surgery a day in order to hydrate my cat as she was severely dehydrated from her overnight stay at Menzies and her life could be put in danger if she were to go through surgery in that state. This clinic is money-hungry and shows no compassion for pet or owner. Be very careful, get a second opinion, a second quote for major surgeries, and ensure your animal is ok throughout the process if dealing with this vet. Read Less

Agree 100% with Joying BC down below ! Same thing happened to us. The red haired "Gestapo" at the front runs the show, make no mistake about it. It's not always what the doctor says, she has the final say and that's the end of it. She can be as sweet as she wants to be but watch out when she gets pushy and rude. It's her way or the highway. She told me on numerous occasions that my felines would not receive life saving prescriptions unless I put them both through additional blood tests. Absolute overkill on blood tests. Never enough for these guys. When confronted with questions from us about that particular issue her feathers got really ruffled up. We have spoken to the doctor on the phone as well. He was a lot more approachable, even understanding but he must have been well aware of what was going on. If you dare to question them about their "money - grubbing" practices it is quite obvious that they will only see you as someone who is petulant, discontented and quite frankly a bother. I am tired of having a gun put to my head time and again. If that's not blackmail I don't know what is. I have had pets for almost 30 years. I have never seen anything like it. Last year we put in hundreds of dollars into his pocket. When enough is enough ? My cats are old. All these dorks worry about is their own bank account. It's a bottomless pit. We had received an e-mail from Menzies Hospital terminating us as their clients. Fair enough, as we were already thinking of going somewhere else. The funny thing is that at the bottom of that letter there was a postscript saying : " This e-mail, and any attachments, contains information that is, or may be, covered by electronic communications privacy laws, and is also confidential and proprietary in nature. If you are not the intended recipient, please be advised that you are legally prohibited from retaining, using, copying, distributing, or otherwise disclosing this information in any manner." Strange, how easily this particular information got itself onto the world wide web as a response to our comments. Way to go, Menzies ;) NEVER AGAIN !!! Be watchful once your pet gets older. We stopped in this morning after spending a tense night with our 5lb chihuahua --- he was vomiting and had diarrhea both. Last night Dr. Mann returned our after hours call and helped us over the phone. We have been going to Menzies Pet Hospital for a few years & have been treated with nothing but the utmost respect, & great service. When we had to put down our dog they were very helpful & sympathetic during our grieving period along with how they treated her with dignity. We have been going to Menzie Veterinarians for the last 3 years. Dr. Mann was great with our older Poodle Rascal and help us tremendously at Rascals end of life. We now have a Rescued 5 yr old Toy Poodle and we were regulars at Menzie vets when we first got Lucky he had really bad Ear infection and his Teeth were bad, he is now health and happy and that would not have happened without the Veterinarians and staff at Menzie Pet Hospital. I had my sweet Angel in last Friday and she had 8 teeth removed and then Tag the next Wednesday to have 1 tooth removed.I always feel safe when I leave them there and know they are getting kind and caring treatment.
