i do not know how treat everything else in their office, but i can tell you my experience was horrible bringing my cat in for UTI, when i first brought him in he was in need of care fast, at first reception came off rude saying if you dont have appointment come back later when there is a opening, but this is a emergency, so when she left the room i tried with the other receptionist and she was kind and got me in. After that i met with the doctor , seemed nice enough, they checked him out, without surprise they told me he's blocked and that they needed to flush him and unblock, then gave me quote that aftercare would be 300 a day on top of 1000, so i said no matter what i would have to come up with it and to go ahead, so i left my baby in their care. later i get the call that he is unblocked but he is drooling at the mouth and it's due to kidney damage, we will not be here tonight so you should pick him up because he might not make it through the night and we dont want him to die alone tonight, i died in my heart at that moment, first blaming myself and then preparing to tell my wife and daughter. So i go get him and he was drooling, really worried now, then 2 hours later drool stops and i get happier, but in meantime he is drinking lots but no pee, still blocked! so now hes filling up again and more back pressure to kidneys, not good. gave him pain med they gave me and boom drool starts, so not due to kidneys. things get pretty serious through the night and my family is all crying thinking it's his last night and vet said if things go south in the night euthanize him without blood tests, and even if there was a blood test it would still be high white cell counts due to back pressure and toxicity in kidneys. So he makes it through night and i immediately take him to Greystone animal clinic and Dr. Varinder Kamboj looks him over and says same but he says we have to keep him here 24 hrs to 48 hours minimum on iv fluids and catheter , and he also said no one will be here tonight , but was also honest and said either that or it wont be good, so needless to say i left him, he kept my cat 5 days with 2 x-rays, blood work , 2 two cathater flushes , and too many things to list, his 5 day hospitalization was equal to 1 day in burquitlam animal hospital and he genuinely cared for my cat, there was even 1 point he got worried but offered me a little more costly route but none the less another option than death and that was a perineal urethrostomy. bottom line burquitlam wanted 600 for 7 hours of care, no blood work, no x rays, barely anything, and to top it off he was still blocked, i called atleast 7 vets and all said they would atleast monitor 24 to 48 hours as this is serious for neutered males and blockage almost always reoccurs and several flushes maybe needed and x-ray should be done to check for stones,. At Greystone i got 5 days of top notch care for 1193 and my baby is home jumping and running around happy. all i can say if you really care about your cat run the other way from burquitlam animal hospital, not only did they damage my cat more but also had me prepare my wife and daughter for his death, i am very mad and tried to get my money back but she was full of excuses and called me uneducated, but of course she would defend herself , i should be talking to her boss, anyway enough of my ranting, HEED MY WARNING!!!! Have a good day all:) Read Less

They have been extremely sensitive and helpful to all our four legged children's needs . I can not say enough good things about this veterinary establishment and it's staff. Those of you that have written poor reviews, seriously I do not know what happened, but I would it a point to speak to that particular vet or staff member and voice your concerns with regards to their actions rather than just write a poor review and never return . I normally never write reviews but I think it is best for everyone if I tell you my experience. I have been taken my family pets here over a year. But I decided to never go back to this clinic. My cat was suffering a skin issue. The doctor was really rude and unprofessional. She rushed when she checks my cat. And she doesnt even know how to treat him. She suggested that she can order a medicine for humans to treat my cat. But after a while she said those pills are too strong for a cat. I spend my time and money there and didn't get any help. I don't know if she wants to end her shift or just had a bad mood that day. She was very impatient and unfriendly to me. I was frustrated about his condition and she makes me feel worse. The exam just took few minutes and costed me $70 which was more than other clinics for the exact same procedure. They also charge re-check fees if you have to go back for exactly same exam. I will change to another clinic after this bad experience. Please find somewhere else to take your loved pets. Read Less

We have been attending Burquitlam Animal Hospital for over 11 years and up until today, have been pleased with their services. Our new dog, Bailey, has fearfulness and aggression issues that Burquitlam suggested we address. Through their suggestion we have had numerous private sessions and over 12 weeks of training for fearfulness through DogSmart. This has worked wonders as she has not bitten or attacked us in over 4 months and has been getting along with other people and dogs. That is until our appointment at this hospital on July 19, 2016. The doctor was extremely insensitive to Bailey's fearfulness, proceeded to yank her by the collar and pull her around in a rough manner. Due to this experience Bailey has once again attacked us, will not let us pet her and she will not even sit with us. I am disappointed and extremely upset that a vet clinic would be so insensitive and uncaring towards a dog with issues of fearfulness, especially when they suggested resources to help build trust and help her get through her issues. After today and months of hard work, that trust was destroyed by one vets lack of concern or care for his dog client. We will be moving our services to a clinic that is sensitive and responsive to our dogs needs and concerns. Extremely disappointed in Burquitlam today. Read Less
