Me (and my cat) love this place! The staff are really nice, they always listen to any concerns we have and answer questions clearly and honestly. We get our long-haired cat's fur shaved here because she gets too hot in the summer months - she's a pure bred and can be very difficult to handle (lots of biting and scratching), on more than one occasion we've had to take her home half-shaved after other groomers were unable to handle her. This is the only place in town that would sedate her before the haircut - both the groomers and my kitty are much happier that way! I also love that they give her a full vet examination before sedating her to make sure she's healthy enough for it. We recommend this place to other pet owners all the time now! Read Less

Always friendly, staff is great, doctors are super informative and will give you as much time as you need, never seem to be in a rush. They also dont push procedures to be done which I'd experienced at another clinic. I think their prices are good too. Any vet in BC is pricey but they are less than others in the area. Bonus is they have dogs and cats that roam around the back area and they come to say hi when you check in. Makes a very fun and happy environment. More laid back for the pets too, which is most important! Read Less

UPDATE : I normally would just give up on the vet and move on. I'm not someone who likes to tell business owners how to run their business, but I really like Dr Melissa, so I did call the vet to report my unhappy experience. Jen who was handling the phones was nice enough to address my concerns and set them to rest. They DO handle emergencies and the next time I have one, I'm going to go there directly instead of dealing with the assistant I really dislike. It looks like we'll be staying with Westwood. Changing my review from 2 stars to 4. ---------------------------------------------- I like the Vet. Dr Melissa is very good at what she does, very caring. But when you have a dog with diarrhea vomiting bile and ask if the vet can prescribe you something, and the receptionist says to bring her in after a week, something isn't right. Perhaps they need to learn the art of scheduling or leaving one slot in for emergencies. Or maybe they're only good for generic stuff like vaccines. Either way, we're continuing our search for a decent vet who can cater to all eventualities. We would have waited for as long as it took for the vet to see her and prescribe something. We have pet insurance. Whatever the cost we could have paid and claimed from the insurance. I guess they prefer dealing with people who can schedule their pets emergencies. Next stop Coquitlam Animal Hospital. They allowed us to come in and wait for the vet. And made a client today. Read Less
