When your cherished critter is feeling under the weather, let the staff at 48th Avenue Animal Hospital in Delta provide them with the attention they need. veterinary staff can help ensure your furry friends are feeling great, both inside and out. We provide preventative healthcare services, including dentistry, flea and parasite control and annual physical exams for cats and dogs, and a variety of surgical procedures. We also offer microchipping identification, spaying and neutering, and nutritional and behavioural counselling. My dog had her half priced annual shots and Dr. S. suggested a blood panel even thought my older dog was feeling fine. I was annoyed at myself as it was over $200.00. However he called the next day ...
My dog had her half priced annual shots and Dr. S. suggested a blood panel even thought my older dog was feeling fine. I was annoyed at myself as it was over $200.00. However he called the next day to have me come to see him as my dogs liver tests were elevated. She needed an ultrasound right away and then special bloodwork for the liver..... talk of a mass which he said would be an operation. I was in tears and devastated with the news. However I decided that we would see another vet as my Dog hates Dr. S. And someone who would do palliative care. And found a couple but when the first one saw the blood panel she told me there was nothing wrong with my dog. NOTHING. And the only thing she would suggest is a repeat in perhaps 6 months but not needed if she was feeling well. The second vet said the same thing. Needless to say we will not be going back.....I wasn't looking for a second opinion I just wanted a gentle caring vet.

We have had to visit 48th Ave Animal Hospital frequently this last month as we are transporting a couple cats to New Zealand. All the staff and the Vet have been amazing and patient to help us through the process. Their advice has been helpful and have been very flexible with our needs (which can become difficult being that the country import laws in NZ being very strict And precise). All in all, Great rates and helpful friendly staff and barely a wait to get in with our appointment. We have been going here for years with all our furry family members and will continue! Don't forget about half price vaccination day every Wednesday!!

My dog hurt his eye on a Sunday morning and it was so nice to find a local vet open on a Sunday. All of the staff at the 48th Avenue Animal Hospital were kind, caring and so helpful, THANK YOU! So nice to not have to leave it until Monday or drive to the emergency clinic in Burnaby.

Such an amazing vet! The whole staff is friendly, wonderful and super knowledgable. The office/rooms are clean and bright. They take their time with you, answer all of your questions, address all concerns and always follow. They really care. We have been going to 48th Ave Animal Hospital for almost a year now, they were recommended to us from PB&CHI rescue and we drive all the way from East Van for our appointments, totally worth it! We recommend them to everyone.

Two years ago, I met the staff at 48th Avenue Animal Hospital.
They have me with two kittens imported from Alberta, and my new (now one year old) long haired chihuaua. They have been so helpful answering my many questions, and so kindly helped when one of my kittens escaped outside their office. Looking in the area and alerting others.
Happily we miraculously found the kitten over a month later. The staff is kind, caring, and services are affordable for the average person on a budget! Thank you all.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff, and amazing with both my cats. They go over and above the call of duty to help - even going to far as to give me a sit-down with the vet to go over an appointment that my husband had to take our cat to because I had to work. Best experience I ever had.

Friendly & helpful front desk staff. I'm always so impressed that they know my dogs name without asking when I come in to get prescription dog food. My dog had to have a small procedure last year and I was very impressed with the vets calm, informative demeanor. Also loved that they called to check in and see how recovery was going after he came home. Easy to make an appointment and love that they open late so I don't have to take time off work to bring my dog in.

Staff are great, very caring and explain everything well and work on your budget. They also do lovely follow up calls to see how your furry child is doing after an illness or procedure. Dr Sharma is knowledgable. He is straight forward and can appear aloof but is kind overall. (Took a bit for me to get used to) My whole family goes here and I recommend this clinic to everyone in town.

I just adopted a cat and he arrived home with a terrible "skin condition". I called 48th Ave at 8 am when they opened and they had my cat and I in within 4 hours. Turns out my new kitty has a bad case...
I just adopted a cat and he arrived home with a terrible "skin condition". I called 48th Ave at 8 am when they opened and they had my cat and I in within 4 hours. Turns out my new kitty has a bad case of fleas. He is black to it was hard to see at first. The gal at the front desk was so kind and understanding. She called the previous vet in Washington State to get all of the old medical records and talked me through some of my concerns as I waited. The Dr. was lovely. Calm and kind, and my cat was like butter in his hands. I am delighted to know such caring people are here in my community to help me with my cat!

Giving two stars for the assistants/front desk, but the vet gets ZERO STARS. He is literally the worst. Any time there's something wrong with my pets, he has no clue what it could be and doesn't say ANYTHING in the room, he makes you suggest all the possible things you've petMD'd. He treats your pets like they're replaceable and not a part of your family.

Dr. Sharma is great, wont take my pets anywhere else. When my friend's dog (very large dog) had a mystery illness, they did everything to do to help her. He understood that money does not grow on trees, and sent out her prescriptions to a pharmacy to help keep costs down. The assistants are friendly. Even told us he sat with the Nollster at night and hand fed her.We have taken her to other clinics and she was terrified to go in, let alone stay without trying to drag us out the door, Being a 112lb dog she could drag people around. She walks in and looks to the ladies for treats and wants to explore. My cats and ferrets are my fur babies, and will only trust him from now on.Thank you, for such awesome treatment of our Nollie.

My dog had her half priced annual shots and Dr. S. suggested a blood panel even thought my older dog was feeling fine. I was annoyed at myself as it was over $200.00. All the staff and the Vet have been amazing and patient to help us through the process. Two years ago, I met the staff at 48th Avenue Animal Hospital.
They have me with two kittens imported from Alberta, and my new (now one year old) long haired chihuaua. They have been so helpful answering my many questions, and so kindly helped when one of my kittens escaped outside their office. Looking in the area and alerting others.
Happily we miraculously found the kitten over a month later. The staff is kind, caring, and services are affordable for the average person on a budget! Thank you all.
