August 8, 2022 we had to say goodbye to our 16 year old Border Collie Maggie. We called in the morning and an extremely courteous and understanding receptionist booked an appointment for 1100 that morning. We entered through a rear door directly into the treatment room. Dr. Longair and his assistant were very patient and compassionate with Maggie throughout and put her to rest in a most compassionate and respectful manner. Thank you everyone including the front desk staff who arranged for Maggie's cremation and Luv Print during this difficult and stressful time.

Ridiculously bad front desk service. After spending thousands of dollars at this place over the years I made a simple bill inquiry and was treated with such attitude and a snarky, snappy response from the receptionist (one in particular is always unprofessional and rude). All customer service representatives should be kind to their customers (it’s one of the main parts of their job description) but particularly in a place charging such astronomical fees (I’ve been to dozens of vet clinics in BC and $175 for 2 basic cat shots is overpriced).
The cherry on the top is being greeted with “do you have a mask” instead of "hello". I put one on only to go into the exam room and find the vet not wearing one. What a double standard!
This will be the last time they overcharge me and treat me so rudely because I will never EVER go back and will tell everyone I know about being treated so badly here. Especially since my last cat died here just a few months ago (young, in their care, and died after I spent $3,500 in just one month trying to save him)-is it too much to ask to speak to me kindly or at least with a smidgen of respect?
Save your money for somewhere that knows how to offer basic customer service and actually cares about you and your pet instead of just the $$$.

I haven't had to take my dogs to the vet often but this is the vet clinic I would recommend to anyone. They are compassionate, understanding and very willing to work with owners to treat ailing dogs....
I haven't had to take my dogs to the vet often but this is the vet clinic I would recommend to anyone. They are compassionate, understanding and very willing to work with owners to treat ailing dogs. When you come to them with your beloved pet they respect your choices and support your decisions. They are informed and educated and everyone has very good bedside manners. And when it comes to the financial part this vet clinic is extremely fair and doesn't gouge you. It's hard enough having to deal with the emotional stress when something is wrong with your pet and the last thing an owner needs is to be stresses out about costs. This clinic is very fair in pricing and I will continue to use this vet clinic in the future.

Pricey, and the counter staff perticularly went beyond the laws in their demands for how animals are cared for. Vets were generally nice and very compitent.

Great staff ! Services reasonably priced and vets don't overcharge or suggest unnecessary procedures or expenses, explain options before proceeding. Parking could be better, though.

Vet was nice but had no idea what she was doing. I took my 2 year dog in to be looked at because he was lethargic, and couldn't use the stairs or climb on the sofa. He also was having tremors of pain....
Vet was nice but had no idea what she was doing. I took my 2 year dog in to be looked at because he was lethargic, and couldn't use the stairs or climb on the sofa. He also was having tremors of pain. The VET said she didn't know what was wrong with him and charged us $75 (which she said was a discount) for doing NOTHING! Well she did express his anal glands. Which can be done by a dog groomer for $20. She didn't suggest x-rays or blood work! What a waste of time and money. Now we have to travel to Victoria to get him looked at by an experienced Veterinarian. I guess all the new VETs come to Duncan to practice and get experience. Too much competition in the city, I guess!Also on a previous visit with one of our other dogs, we had the opposite problem. They wanted to do too much. Our other dog was yelping when his butt was touched. So a different Vet expressed his anal glands and it seem to do the trick, but the VET wanted also to do expensive blood work and x-rays. For what? It seems that "expressing anal glands" is their "go to" solution for everything. I really can't endorse this animal clinic. They seem a little confused and inexperienced.

Everything requires a blood panel. Took my cat in as her behaviour had changed and she was pooping on the ground. Let's do a blood panel and some x-rays! was the solution. They were very snotty when I said no and left. Took her to a different vet and they did a digital exam and found a massive tumour in her rectum. Still cost less getting a second vet to look at her than a blood panel and x-ray would have.

I brought my 12 year old lab in today fully expecting to be told putting him down is the only realistic option. On the other hand, the cynical side of me was expecting a vet to give me the most expensive option to put off the inevitable. Being from out of town, I was pleasantly surprised with how good our visit was. We saw Dr. Katzman who was very understanding and gave us a very realistic breakdown of our dog's condition and his options. Rather than selling us on the most expensive option for treatment/medication (which he did inform us of as an option), he offered us a smaller dose to try on our old guy as a last ditch effort for us to see if he bounces back. While it feels a bit cold to discuss prices under the circumstances, it's something we must consider, especially with his age and condition. I found the price of the visit plus the weeks dosage of medication to be very reasonable and equally if not more important, Dr. Katzman left us feeling a little better about the situation with all our questions answered. We'll see what happens, but I want to thank Dr. Katzman and staff for making this terrible circumstance a little easier to deal with.

I am continually impressed with the compassion and service at Prevost Clinic. We are so lucky to have them as our vet here in Duncan. If there's a line up it's because they are a busy clinic and yet still giving all their great service to each client. I know of people who drive up from Victoria to go there!

Have been going to this vet for the better part of 15 years or more. Caring, compassionate, realistic pricing and excellent service. I recently had to say goodbye to a 14 year old fur baby and they were willing to come to my home and were beyond wonderful. It was peaceful, easy and lovng thanks to the care and concern.My next fur baby will also be a Prevost patient. There are none better - they truly do put the animals before the dollars.

After spending thousands of dollars at this place over the years I made a simple bill inquiry and was treated with such attitude and a snarky, snappy response from the receptionist (one in particular is always unprofessional and rude). When you come to them with your beloved pet they respect your choices and support your decisions. They are informed and educated and everyone has very good bedside manners. I brought my 12 year old lab in today fully expecting to be told putting him down is the only realistic option. On the other hand, the cynical side of me was expecting a vet to give me the most expensive option to put off the inevitable. Being from out of town, I was pleasantly surprised with how good our visit was. We saw Dr. Katzman who was very understanding and gave us a very realistic breakdown of our dog's condition and his options.
