Due to very poor treatment services at another clinic in FSJ, I was left scrambling to find a Vet Clinic and Doctor who could take my very ill Kitty. Lucky for my sick Kitty, I happened upon North Peace. I am convinced that had I not taken my beloved to this clinic, he would certainly have passed away. Dr. Routley and Dr. North are now my go to Doctors for my Cat and I am so pleased with their level of knowledge, service and compassion. The Doctors kept me informed every step of the way to wellness for my Cat. They answered my questions and did not make me feel like I was wasting their time. Further, the front service staff are bar none, the best. Extremely helpful and as compassionate as the Doctors. Reception staff member Courtney B. always asks me how my Cat (and she remembers his name without prompting) is doing, we then chat about her beautiful Rottweiler. These little things really show me that this clinic is driven by a holistic approach (treat All with respect and dignity; animals and their owners). It is evident to me that the North Peace Medical Director takes their business seriously and have implemented a premium service and treatment methodology that heightens everyone's experience for the good. Dr. Routley did a wonderful job with my rabbits spay! All the staff are very friendly and helpful! Even when my girl had a rough go recovering the first couple of days, the staff did everything they could to keep her comfortable and me informed. The staff at North Peace Vet Clinic are the best! They worked tirelessly to save our beagle when she was crashing from AIHA, giving her an emergency blood transfusion on a holiday. Huge shout out to North Peace, their staff are not only friendly and professional but they go above and beyond for each and every visit. We had to bring one of our dogs in for an emergency on the weekend and they were extremely fast in meeting us at the clinic, running tests and keeping us up to date on his condition and how he was doing for the entire duration of his stay. I genuinely appreciate the follow up calls from Kayla asking how Grimm was doing following his release and their willingness to answer any questions that we had regarding Grimm's health and needs during his stay and following his discharge. Last weekend, on my daughters birthday, we came home from dinner to discover our sweet dog could not walk normally and her eyes were twitching. I tried to call the vet office we had previously been using (who advertise they are available 24-7) but nobody answered. Scared that our dog was suffering we called NP Veterinary Clinic and spoke with the vet on call. The very painful decision was made to euthanize our dog Bear. The ladies at the clinic were wonderful!!! They made a very sad evening much more comfortable for us. I will never go back to our old vet office who said they'd be available. Huge shout out to north peace vet clinic! Today may have been a huge struggle for me and my family but they were incredible! Please be sure to check sand pits around you. My dog started throwing up yesterday morning while we packed up camp. He sometimes get over excited after a weekend of camping so I got him home while my boyfriend finished loading the trailer. He seemed OK from there till this morning when my kids woke me up saying he was puking all over the place and crying. I called the vet as soon as they opened and they had no problem getting us in quickly. Once I had my kids at a friend's house I came in sooner then my scheduled appointment because I was very concerned. They wasted no time getting the Dr for us once I told them my concern with him getting worse. The Dr did the exam and agreed something was wrong. She explained he needed an x ray and why and was very supportive the whole way. To try to cut to the chase, after the x ray it ended up he needed surgery it didn't look good at the time we had no idea what we were in for. The Dr was supportive but didn't skip any possible steps or outcomes. She was very kind the whole time gave us the time we needed and let us spend a bit of time with him. The staff was more then helpful and kind! He went in for surgery where they ended up having to pull a pound of sand from his bowels! They called us to let us know what it was right away. They were also very good at letting us know the whole surgery over the phone after. Can you belive it a pound of sand! The vet thinks it's very possible that previous campers might have dumped bacon grease in the sand pile and my dog wanted it bad. Please please learn from this. I am new to town and had a horrible experience with another vet clinic in Fort St John. My cat was very sick and North Peace answered an emergency call late at night - since then I have felt so comfortable with their service. The Doctor I have been dealing with for my sick pet shows genuine care and consideration. Glad I found them or my pet and I would be having to head back to the Lower Mainland for proper vet care. Is hands down the best Vet Clinic in Fort St. John. They care about all their patients and even have emergency 24/7 vet service for holiday/weekend emergencies (Absolutely Amazing they saved my dogs life at 3:30 am on a long weekend Sunday morning.) As for the select few who are commenting about having problems with the staff sneaking extra costs in, I have been taking my pets here for over a decade and they have never added any services of any kind without first asking me if i want it and secondly they have always been very up front with me as to whether or not the service in question is necessary or not. The other night about 11:00 pm, our 3 year old black lab was not able to get up. She would try but couldn't get her back legs to work. We called the after hours emergency number and was put through to Amy who was just wonderful! She was able to talk to us about recent circumstances (too long to describe but they involve a mom in hospice care and trying to save our family homes in the South Taylor fires) and diagnosed our sweet Ember with exhaustion. She advised us to give her one aspirin and watch her over night. She told us to call anytime throughout the night if we needed her which was so reassuring! Ember did ok through the night and in the morning, the wonderful people from the NP Vet Clinic called us to check on Ember. I have a very sick beagle who got into chicken bones, the veterinarians and the clinic staff at north peace veterinary clinic were very helpful, supportive, and kind over and above my expectations! The made us feel calm and well taken care of through the process of daily clinic visits. The financial stress of tests and emergency visits was no where near what it could have been because the knowledgeable staff made confident decisions without resorting to very expensive resources and took it day by day. The vet even stayed late after clinic hours to talk with me and examine my dog with no extra charge, another vet took my calls on more than one occasion around 2:00 am and gave me precise and useful advise for keeping my beagle comfortable. Whenever I called the clinic all I had to say was my dogs name and no matter who answered they were familiar with our situation. We were seen by three different vets and never had to re explain what happened because they seem to have excellent communication between the staff. At no point have I felt pressured to pay for excess costs or come in if it wasn't needed. I am so grateful for all the wonderful staff at north peace veterinary clinic, I trust their care and will be a lifetime client!Read Less
