Our dog (Koda) had been having issues with her feet and ears for at least 2 1/2 years or so.  We have tried lots of vets and all they wanted to do was to get her to thin down, which she just couldn't do.  We were finally given the name Tranquille Road Animal Hospital and took Dr Sharma a dog with a severe limp on her front feet and 4 very sore paws.  Upon arrival he looked at the bottom of her paws and he found pockets of pus on all 4 paws.  He immediately started her on steroids and antibiotics and antibiotic cream.  He then suggested we do a blood test to check her thyroid, not cheap but it turned out after sending the tests to be read by people who know, she had rather severe case of hypothroidism.  With a diagnosis of this, her case can be controlled with something as simple as a pill twice a day.Thank good ness we found this clinic and someone who could see past a chubby dog and be able to see the case for what it was and had the sense to send the same test out to be read properly.Thank you Dr Sharma and the receptionist and the techs in the back who worked on our dog,  We couldn't have been happier with her treatment and what the explanation fo what the tests showed and the care and concern shown by the folks at Tranquille Road Animal Hospital.  It is so reassuring to know there is help that can be counted on for the care of our  beloved family member.  I can't thank you enough for making Koda feel better and taking a load off our minds.  I would strong recommend this clinic and people to anyone.  Thank you so much I have a much happier dog.  Thank you the Mitchell's. Great vets & staff.Did not realize how good they were until i had to deal with vets in Quesnel,who will not even order my dog life saving medicine with out charging me for another visit which is unethical & cruel.Now I have a dog that is starving to death because he does not have his Enzyeme meds that he takes to break down his food into nutrients. Tranquille vets order them as soon as i make a request.I have money for his pills but not both,greed greed greed Ignorance ignorance! Read Less

Just had our boy Ruger’s first TPLO surgery on May 8th. He is already walking on the leg and supporting full weight when going to the bathroom. We are very happy with how he was treated, their staff goes above and beyond. Even his vet tech worried overnight and checked cameras at 4am to see how our baby was coming out of anaesthetic. I have called the clinic a few times and they were very helpful. Also the cost was affordable compared to other clinics. Thank you for making our boy feel better! Brought my 11 year old Dog for the first time at this vet. The staff and vet are super helpful and friendly. She (my dog) needed at least 4 walk in rechecks with no cost. And habing them open 7 days a week is so convenient! Read Less

I not crazy about the hiddens fee part it's like getting hit with a 2x4 and then having to pay the bill. My bill was not thousands but in hundreds. Amazing how we have replaced having children with pets though. Read Less

I took my diet in as he wasn't able to pee. They kept my dog for 4 days They were very good to my dog.He quickly became their friend also. I am extremely happy with the care he received from all of the staff. They even followed up few days after he was home to be sure he was responding well to his surgery and medicines. I've just finished reading the reviews and I would like to share my opinion and experience with others. From time to time we all hear both positive and negative comments about our own personal experiences with physicians surgeons dentists and veteranarians. There are no guarantees that each and every one of us is always going to be satisfied with treatment we or our loved ones receive under the care of professionals. That said, how many of us can conceive a person going through medical school to become a veteranarian, doctor, dentist or surgeon and then open a practice with anything less than honorable intensions...Let's not be so synical. It is the most devastating experience to lose a loved one or pet, the pain is unimaginable, but I choose to believe that these care providers we put our trust in to treat those we love have the very best intensions and do care... In spite of an outcome that may result in a way we do not ever wish to hear or face. Not one of us is infallible...But we try because we care and continue to learn so we may be better. Dr. Sharma, his colleagues and the entire staff have demonstrated the utmost professionalism and empathy for my family and all our fur children. In spite of every effort on behalf of Dr. Sharma we have had to face the tragedy of uethanasia, but he cared and he hurt too, more importantly our pets no longer had to suffer...We all cried. Our dog Merlin was treated by Dr. Sharma for liver failure that left him within an inch of his life. We were told to brace for the worst because of the severity of our dog's condition...It was an exposure to an extreme toxic alkaloid in the form of a noxious weed that threatened the life of Merlin. That was December 19 2014... Every measure was taken to treat the condition that Dr Sharma had likely never faced before. On Dec. 24 we received a call from the office giving Merlin the green light to come home for Xmas. Merlin's liver damage was permanent, but thanks to the dedication and committment on behalf of our vet, we still enjoy our loyal tail wagger. Thanks to all of the team at Tranquille Rd. Called them and were able to get my dog in right away. Unfortunately the prognosis was not good, however the staff and dr were very comforting and made the tragic event a bit easier to cope with. Dr Sharma and his staff have been looking after our dogs (two golden retrievers with a LOT of bizarre health issues) for the past 4 1/2 years, when we showed up there with a very sick puppy and they saved his life. Since then, I have called in emergency situations (and some that I just thought were emergencies!) and they have always seen my dog that same day as soon as possible. Dr Sharma has answered our emails late into the evening, called us on his own time to check in on our dogs, and answered every question we've ever had. He's been completely candid and open with us in every situation. I've recommended him many times to many people, and they have never had anything but the same wonderful and caring service that I have experienced. These folks care deeply about my dogs, and I'm very grateful to have them available to help me keep these guys healthy. We will not take our boys anywhere else! Our cat was boarding at the clinic while we moved to a new city and became very ill. She passed away in their care. I phoned asking about getting a clay paw print done and mailed to us. The clinic called me back later that day saying that the crematory no longer did paw prints - but because they really loved our cat and empathized with our situation, they went to Micheal's and found a clay kit to do a paw print for us and offered to mail it. They also gave us a huge discount on the boarding fee as well as some other things that our kitty needed before she passed. I was extremely impressed with the service this clinic provided. If I could give less than one star I would. My 10-year old dog had a kidney stone and when my husband took her to Dr. Sharma, he said the only option was to euthanize her. That didn't sound right to my husband and I, so we took her to a different vet in Kamloops and they performed a surgery to remove the stone. That was four years ago and she is still alive, healthy, and happy to this day. After that we never felt confident taking our pets there for medical issues, but I continued to have my cat shaved (lion cut) under sedation there two time a year. It seemed like a simple procedure. That was until they changed the type of sedation and increased the dosage, yet never bothered to tell me it would take several days for the sedation to wear off, instead of the usual 2-3 hours. On the third day, when my poor cat was still not really eating and his 3rd eyelid was covering his eyes, I took him to a different vet because I thought maybe Dr. Sharma's staff had harmed him. The other vet had my cat's records faxed over and discovered he was given a different kind and high dose of sedative. Since then, whenever I talk about these experiences with other pet-owners I know or meet, they often tell me they too have either had bad experiences with Dr. Sharma or know of someone else who has. If you care about your pet, please do not take them to this vet/hospital... you never know what will happen. Read Less

After being told our vet was too busy, one phone call and Dr. Sharma took my dog in a moments notice when he collapsed with a very high temperature after playing with our other dogs. He was experiencing heat stroke (temp of 108). Anyone who knows about heatstroke and dogs knows it was only a matter of minutes and he could have died. They are absolute crooks there, with no compassion for my cat. If I could give no stars I would. They are the worst place I have ever taken any of my animals to. They also tried to pressure me into giving my cat surgery when all she needed was some antibiotics and then didn't give me the full amount of pills I paid for and when I went in to get the rest they were trying to AGAIN get me to agree to surgery and said I owed them money because they accidentally had me underpay for the pills which I had paid in full.
