I have had pets for many years and have never had the support I have experienced from Burtch Animal Hospital. Yesterday I had to have a dear cat euthanized and it was an ordeal I don’t think I could have faced anywhere else. The vet and the office manager as well as the wonderful support staff were there for me and my pet. Every time you go in they recognize your pet and act as if for the short time you are there it is one they care about and know the most. Thank you all for your support and kindness yesterday. Deplorable!! The absolute worst vet clinic in the Okanagan. If you care about your pets, and your mental health, stay as far away from these people as possible. Totally unorganized, Cecilia, the office manager doesn't care for her job, Clients yelling at Doctors for poor service, Save your self the Trouble!!! Go Somewhere Else!!! I checked my credit card statement and gave you the exact date I paid for the food in April, and subsequently picked up, I've already ordered from another shop, the disrespectful way I was treated was much worse than anything I asked for. I paid in full last time, in April, as asked and was told I would not have to pay in advance going forward. If you change your policies or forget to note something in a clients file you should be apologetic and not challenge your would be continuous clients. Being treated in such a way and being accused of lying is most im professional. The way the other client was yelling at the doctor when I picked up the revolution should have made me realize I needed a new vet at that moment. I've brought my cats and dogs here and have had nothing but the best service. Dr. Mundi is so genital and honest with you and your pet, they are very helpful and go above and beyond to help their clients. They've stayed open late for me and waved fee's during visits. This place has been very accommodating to my situation and with holding my cats for me while I move and their environment is very calm and they listen to what you have to say and they take their time with each customer and pet and I am very grateful that they do what they do and I couldn't have been handed a better vet here in kelowna! Super positive experience...me and my little kitty went in, both quite afraid as it was only our second time at a vet. I have say It was such a kind experience. The staff is all amazing, knowledgeable and patient. The Vets equally so and they take the time to explain things to terrified owners :) The Dr. didn't have an easy job on his hands(urine analysis) but he got job done and left Sage no worse for wear. Dr. Michael Lavroff is a remarkable, exceptional Vet who always goes the extra mile. I don't know what we would do without him. He has been treating my dog Sasha who is almost 19 years old, for about 4 years now and Sasha would likely not be here but for Dr. Lavroff's wonderful, expert, compassionate care. Hands down the only vet I am comfortable taking my pets too! I have a 14 y/o jack russel and we take her in every couple months to get her nails trimmed. 15$ and she's in and out! We had an indoor cat that lived 23 yrs. She lived a very long life but unfortunately went downhill very quickly. Burtch animal hospital was the only place that would take an appointment on a Sunday last minute. They were extremely accommodating and understanding to prevent her suffering any further. Highly recommend this place. After trying out a couple vets in kelowna this was the best by far. Dr. Mundi and his staff were very friendly and knowledgable. We found this poor wee emaciated kitten on our doorstep in October so we fattened her up, made sure she was healthy and took her to get spayed at Burtch Animal Hospital. Because she was a stray, we had no history on her, but no worries , Burtch Animal Hospital advised us as to what was best for our kitty without being pushy. I liked that because some Animal Hospitals can be very pushy about what they think your pet may need even if you explain that you can only afford basic care.. Prices are affordable. follow up is great. They email you to remind you of any follow up appointments, which BTW, after a spay it is a free follow up. So ya, pleased with the service. Great clinic! I appreciated all the time and care that was offered to my cat. When I was to get blood work done for her they said she was upset and may need to be sedated. When I came to pick her up they said that they had comforted her and pet her until she relaxed enough to have blood drawn. That means she didn't need to recover from a groggy sedation and I didn't need to have the sedation charge on top of my bill for blood work. Great and caring staff. I would definitely recommend them. A year ago we lost our elderly cat to kidney failure. Dr Mundi was excellent in prescribing care for her during the last few months of her life, making sure she was made as comfortable as possible. When it was time to say goodbye, he came to our house to put her down, again in as caring a way as possible. The care and compassion he showed (both for her and for us,!), was greatly appreciated, and helped us through a difficult time. Wish there was a zero star option!!!! Took my dog there after he was attacked by another dog. The vet was very rough with him with me in the room (poked his open sores with his bare hands and pushed very hard all around where he was bit and used a fine tooth comb to rip a pile of hair out from on top of my dogs wounds and my dog was yelping in pain as he did it). When it came time to shave the wound I warned him of a mole on my dog to be careful not to clip it - sure enough he clipped it and it bled and my dog yelped again. I had also pointed out a puncture wound to the vet myself that he neglected to acknowledge and didn't shave around until I requested him shave further in one direction and then he said "oh look, I found a puncture wound". No, I found it and told you to clean it up. He was also very rude to his staff in front of me. Will NEVER return and do not recommend this vet to anyone who cares about their pet. If this is the behaviours demonstrated in front of the pet owner can you imagine what he's doing if you're not there? Read Less

My small dog received excellent care before, during and after an emergency eye injury. Dr Mundi called us at home when test results from other vet came in saying there was no vision and infection at a later date, which was almost certain, could be deadly due to proximity of the brain. Because our dog weighs 4.5 lbs we were concerned about anaesthesia. He was aware the breed often has issues with that and used an alternative. The eye removal was a complete success! Our dog healed quickly and no adjustment period required. Turned out, previous owner's vet had been dealing with the eye for two years so it's likely the vision was very poor at best, with some pain possible as she was a bit head shy. The care and concern of the entire staff for our little Papillon, Megan, was great! I suggest Burtch Animal Hospital to other pet owners. They are open better hours too. Just had to watch my mouse die because I didn't have the money to save him...hard thing to come up with last minute when on social assistance!! Then I ask If I can bring him to to be euthanized to end his suffering they top it off with a "that will cost about $69 plus tax oh and at this time there will be a extra cost so bring around $100" and when I ask if there is a payment plan or anything to save my pets life they say "sorry but if you don't have the funds we can't help you the best thing is for you to get him comfortable and sit with him tell his time" so pretty much watch my pet die. What happened to becoming a vet because of your love for animals what type of vet turns a dying pet away because he can't make any money... A bunch of pathetic people that's who hope u made your fair share of cash for the day because I just watched my pet die.Read Less

My experiences with Burch Animal Hospital have been for the most part good. Dr Mundi was extremely helpful and knowledgeable with my poor sick kitty. He did not try to pressure me into any unnecessary costs and kept everything straight to the point. While my visit was not cheap in the least (spent about 900 in two visits) I have heard that their rates are extremely fair compared to other clinics in town. With the amount of work they did with my kitty I would say not a penny was over spent. I am really greatful that I found this place on my first try. My only complaint would be that the nurses each time I left offered me no advice or instructions for after care regarding special food and medication. I had to ask about times and dosages and would have walked out the door without any instructions had I not asked. To me that seemed a little off especially for how serious the condititon was. These Veterinarian's both Dr. Singh and Dr. Mundi should be rated above excellent. I have 7 cats and 2 dogs, I have entrusted in there care. They truly are caring and compassionate Veterinarians. These two doctors truly do care about the well being of the animal. Fortunately they are unlike so many other veterinarians that only care about the almighty dollar. The Okanagan is blessed to have such Veterinarians. They are honest upfront doctors that tell you the truth, and they try to keep the healthcare of your pets as low as possible. 100 thumbs up to these doctors. I am real. We really did take our young cat to this hospital when he was having sudden breathing problems after having the occasional coughing episode 3 weeks prior to this. It was after hours, our regular veterinarian was closed and we were panicking so we went to the closest hospital which unfortunately ended up being this place. It was also unfortunate that we did not retrieve the message that our veterinarian had left in a timely fashion on our phone until after we had left our cat at this hospital. Our vet was able to correctly tell that our cat was having an asthma attack based on the information that we left on our message to him. He was also able to tell us what tests and treatments should be done. The veterinarian that we saw at this hospital thought that our cat could be having a hairball or poop ball problem despite the fact that he was obviously having troubles breathing. He subjected our cat to a number of expensive and unnecessary tests that could have caused him a lot more harm given that he was struggling to breathe. We were charged for 2 additional sets of x-rays when only 1 set was needed to find out our cat had asthma, a thyroid blood test (which is only a problem in middle aged and older cats...Google it!!...our cat is 1.5 years old), and overnight monitoring (which was over 20% more than what the emergency hospital charges...we called to them to find out!!). Nothing was done out of the kindness of their heart or to save us $$$$. When we went to pick up our cat the next day, our bill was over 50% more than what we were quoted and the doctor was insistent on keeping him to run some more tests even though he was back to normal by this point. We asked our veterinarian to call this hospital on our behalf (my wife, whose name is Cara not Cora by the way, did not think it was a good idea for me to go and discuss it), which he did but nothing came out of it. We wish that we would have drove an extra couple of blocks and gone to the real emergency hospital so that we could have avoided this veterinary hospital and fiasco. When we adopted our pup Molly we found out she was spade and vaccinated at Burtch we were happy to know that we didnt have to transfer her files from one vet to Burtch. i originaly was looking for a convinient vet for a friend who had one of my pup's, that was needing a series of shots and checkup to be able to travel on the plane with his lil guy.last one i called was burtch animal hospital. he had such a great experience with his lil dog at this place, not to mention-in one of his visits he forgot his bank card & only had enough money for one of the shots or something...so the vet said because it was a honist "oops", rescedual for the last shots and void the "sitting fee" so he only had to pay for the shots on that nexpected last viset. so i decided to try it out. i brought a litter of puppies in for their checkup,deworming & shots. they are genuine, friendly, honist, low costs with wonderful service from when you walk in until you leave!they dont try to push extra crap or shots on u when not needed, they ask you questions abo your pets lifestyle then tell you what shots or pills they should have.my next experience was my dog going into labor & the 2nd stage wasnt  coming on(it ended up being a false labor that went full turm incase anyone wonders what happen!), so i was worried and called them up. the vet was fantastic. if anything happend during the night he will be available-on call. this dog hates car rides & i was worried about the stress level of coming to the office..he didnt hesitate to offer to come to our house if needed. he didnt care if i didnt have the cash on me, we was more concerned about the dog than payment....when have you ever herd of a vet that legitly is more concerned about the pet??? i have and am, involved actively with alot of animals so i have tried out most of the vets in kelowna. i dont think i will need to anymore. this place is as "real" and genuine as you can get.excelant experience and interactions with this vet office every time.i have recomended handfuls of people to this vet office and so far close to ten people or families have gone to them for their reasons, and all of them have come back to me with positive things to say! that should say alot!last time i recomended a vet...i have about 6 people come back to me saying how they had a bad experience, cost and infections and wrong meds type things...mine were always great...but im not easily talked into things, i research & educate myself about my animal kids & the reasons i visit the vet...mabe me coming in telling them what i need and what is up lol made the difference in that situation :-pif you need a new vet, search no more...you have found it! you wont regret anything about this vet office :-) Read Less
