This place, is horrible. Do yourself the favour and take your pets somewhere else. I've had numerous problems coming here in the past while, and they don't charge cheap for their incompetent services.
-I called during the summer to make an ultrasound appointment for my pregnant dog, and the receptionist did it without a fuss. When I arrived three weeks later, after waiting almost an hour in a nearly empty waiting room, I was informed in fancy Vet lingo that it was far too early for an ultrasound, and that I would have to come back in a couple weeks. They even attempted to charge me for the ultrasound I never got.
Despite my annoyance, I made another appointment. I arrived 10 minutes early just so I could sit around for around for an additional 30 minutes to be told that the Vet who performs ultra sounds was NoT AvAiLabLE, and that we would have to book a THIRD appointment and come back in a couple hours. Wonderful.
-I've mistakenly brought my cat here too a few times too. His first appointment went okay, aside from the obligatory 20 minutes you are required to wait before your appointment, I got my diagnosis and was told to have a seat as the meds would be ready in a few minutes. I spent the next forty five minutes listening to my distressed cat yowling in his kennel while the lady at the desk continued to assure me in five minute intervals that "It would only be a few more minutes", meanwhile several people who arrived after me had gotten their meds and left.
-The second time I brought my cat in with an infection on his chin that was bleeding and swollen. The Vet (her name Katherin) took one look at him, told me he had Feline Acne gone bad and that I needed to scrub his chin and give him some antibiotics. At the time, I had no idea cats could even get acne, so I was expecting her to give me more details; sadly I was mistaken, as she remained silent. I tried to prompt her by asking a few questions like: "How hard should I be scrubbing? Should I be trying to clean out the acne? What should I scrub with? How many times a day?" and her response was "Once a day, we'll give you some soap you can clean it with, and you just have to scrub."
She was rude, very uninformative, and seemed put off by the fact that I didn't know what Feline Acne was (pardon me for not being a Vet). I ended up going home and finding out the details of his condition myself with the help of google, which I got more helpful information from than I did from the people who I pay for the convenience of not having to do so. Its been eight days of religious daily chin washings and antibiotics, and his chin hasn't improved even slightly. She seemed more invested in getting the appointment over with rather than helping me out. The other vets I've had (such as Laura and Nick) were quite nice, and very helpful. This lady was the furthest thing possible from helpful or kind.
-They also, without fail, are always late in giving my my vaccine reminders for my pets, or I don't get a reminder at all.
My best advice? Take your pets somewhere else. I've been bringing my pets here since I was a kid, and once upon a time they were a very reliable Veterinarian Office, but as of late it's been a repertoire of bad customer service, scatter brained receptionists, infuriating wait times, and now unhelpful Veterinarians. I was begrudgingly willing to tolerate the receptionists dippy mannerisms because ultimately they aren't the ones operating on my pets, but after my encounter with the ignorant middle aged woman thats working there, I won't be going back there anytime soon, save to find out when my pets are due for their next set of vaccines. I recommend Brookswood Vet Clinic. The man who works there is friendly, answers all your questions, and really knows how to keep you and your pet calm during appointments. Less waiting time as well.
