Dr. Shamsher is incredibly kind, compassionate and truly loves animals. Our dog had two knee surgeries at his clinic, and afterwards loved Dr. Shamsher. She somehow knew that he had helped her and for years afterwards she was happy to see him for every visit. We recently had to put our sweet girl down, and travelled 3 hours to make sure it was Dr. Shamsher who was with her at the end. His clinic is well outfitted and capable of quick diagnoses, and he has great staff who are caring and supportive as well. We will be bringing in our new puppy to the Willoughby Animal Hospital to meet Dr. Shamsher, and we are confident her experience, and ours, will be just as positive as it was with our last dog. I highly recommend Willoughby Animal Hospital!  Dr. Shamsher is personable and caring. He is a very good listener, communicated clearly and answered all my questions. He explained in great detail all treatment options and possible outcomes. In addition, Dr. Shamsher explained all my cat's lab results to me in great detail.  His staff is warm and caring as well.  They called the next day after I picked up my cat to see how she is doing.  Regardless of the final outcome of my cat's treatment, (she isn't completely well at this time), I feel completely confident that I chose the best veterinarian for her, and would not hesitate to take my other cat see Dr. Shamsher. WORST vet in lower-mainland, "dr" shamsher does not care about your pet or any others, only cares about how much money is going to end up in his wallet. First, he misdiagnosed one of my dogs by saying his eye problem was just allergies after examining the eye TWICE on the same day making me take him to an animal hospital to find out he had an ulcer all along and needed treatment right away. Second, I take my puppy to him just so he can tell me that he's probably not going to make it, so I go to pick him up so I can take him to a veterinarian that actually knows what they're doing and he tries charging me $780 for telling me my dogs going to die and having him there for barely even 30 minutes. Absolute joke. STAY AWAYThis animal hospital's procedure to diagnose this virus was to return home 20-30 mins away and collect my puppy's feces even though they thought he was so rapidly deteriorating and also did not have any in-house test kits on hand . It was clear my puppy was not doing well which is why I did not want to waste any time and called another veterinarian that stated that there are in-house test kits for this virus to quickly diagnose my puppy and not waste any precious time. When confronting Dr.Shamsher about these other tests that can be done as he's aware that time is precious as he stated to me, he then had nothing to say, then asked me to take my dog and just leave. They clearly don't have the proper tests and equipment on hand. Thankfully the test came back negative to what your "dr" thought he had jumping to the conclusion that my puppy was not going to make it .FORTUNATELY, we made the decision to seek other help for our puppy elsewhere because NO thanks to Willoughby Animal Hospital, our puppy will be just fine. Please stop trying to salvage your guys' reputation, at the end of the day everyone has their own opinions and they will also soon come to realize through their own experiences, like us.
