I called a day prior to make an appointment for my new wild/stray kitten. I stressed over the phone that I needed an early appt cause of my work schedule. I get there right on time, only for the receptionist to tell me to come back on 1 hr cause they had an emergency of a sick litter of puppy. I thought it was really inconsiderate. Yes my heart goes out to those puppies but if an emergency occurs you think you would have called upcoming appts and give them a heads up. She did however call me 20 mins after I left but I politely declined due to my kitten getting stuck in my car. Customer service was not met today. I would have appreciated notice in advance if vets cant see clients in time. I would have gone to a different clinic and not wasted my time. Read Less

I have been bringing our family's pet dog at Haney Animal Hospital for over the past three years, and I still to this day stand by my positive opinion and recommendation. In terms of the staff, the knowledge of their discipline, professionalism, in addition to the quality of care and love they have for our dog, has always been very appreciated by our family. Our toy poodle dog is getting old and she has had her fair share of experience with numerous other veterinarian clinics. None have been able to provide the caliber of care, service, and financial understanding and support as Haney Animal Hospital. They are very practical with their diagnosis and have an expert team who is dedicated to provide by far the most affordable and accountable medical care for our dog. We do not reside in Maple Ridge. Every visit there requires at least a 30 minute drive to their clinic, yet we continue to trust our dog's health in their hands. Read Less

I'm not sure if this vet has changed owners over the years as I haven't been in awhile with my dog and cat but the last visit I had with them was sub par. I just had a bad feeling about the entire visit and I usually don't have that kind of intuition for no reason. My concerns about retained sutures were brushed off and I was told that nothing could be done unless I wanted to try to take them out myself or he could be put under to remove them and my dog was also seen for skin irritations that also were brushed off and we were given no real answer or treatment other than to just monitor the situation which I found completely odd because it was so clear there was a problem so we took our dog to Coquitlam Animal Hospital since they were open later and that vet addressed his skin issues immediately. She could tell that he had severe dermosis from the heat and humidity and she made all the necessary recommendations and sent us off with a prescription and gave him a shot to help alleviate his suffering right away. I haven't been happy with the recent standard of care at Haney so I've now taken my dog elsewhere. I would exercise extreme caution when deciding to choose this vet if you value the standard of care provided for your beloved animals. The front staff was great; I have no complaints there! It's the new vet that made me uneasy and I'm happy with my decision to take my beloved pets elsewhere. Read Less

DON'T GO TO HANEY ANIMAL HOSPITAL (227th and Lougheed, next to Starbucks): We took our cat there in an emergency Sunday night to have them do a blood test that they told us would be completed by Monday afternoon only to find out they didn't send in the sample until late Monday afternoon ( when they could've gone in the morning) and never had the results in time to forward them to my regular vet who was now caring for my sick cat. They also refused over the phone to allow the results be sent directly to my vet. After forcing them to call the lab and then their doctor on staff to have my results read to me ( which were fax time stamped saying they arrived at their office at 4pm and no one did anything about it) Dr. Johar then became angry with me trying to say his clinic did nothing wrong. I assertively told him his hospital was in the wrong they lied about when the information would be in and about when they sent the samples in and withheld information from me and that was neglectful to my pet. He then asked if I wanted to take him to court. I said what your hospital did was wrong and you lied to me. I left knowing that my cat thankfully doesn't have anything glaring in his blood work. But extremely disappointed in people I blindly trusted. Turns out I'm not the only person in town that knows these guys are terrible. Please don't use them. They were terrible to me and thought it was ok to not give me or my cats caregivers pertinent  possibly life saving information. Also, yelled at a pregnant woman. Right now Our cat is staying overnight at my vets office on an IV and antibiotic drip. Who's to say what would've been different had they had that blood test result. PS. (my vet who has been amazing) did not perform the test themselves as I asked them to wait till the afternoon for the results since I spent $150 on that test and was assured it would be in by then. I don't know what all these terrible reviews are about! I take all my pets here, everything from rabbits to cats and dogs and they have always been extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. They seem to care more about the animals than the money and they have twice provided medication for my pets before I got paid so that they would be okay and let me come back after my cheque to pay the balance. I have recommended this place to friends and family and my recommendation still stands, these are good people doing good work, their prices are affordable and they have very efficiently helped my animals heal every time. Staff is extremely unprofessional. Please don't take your pet to this place. They wrongly accuse you of mistreating your animals and threaten to get them taken away. I suggest that you take your pet to a clinic where they actually care about their well-being! Read Less

Our dog died and I phoned to ask what to do with him and the person that answered the phone said they would call me back. They never did.  What kind of animal hospital is that? I was crying and didn't know what to do and they didn't care. Do not take your pets there. Very unimpressed with their clinic in general to begin with but this just topped it all.
