This morning I brought my son’s dwarf hamster in for an appointment because he had mites… the hamster was less than a year old, super healthy, and was well handled. What was supposed to be a routine appointment in which he simply get treatment for mites, instead ended with him being dead, and my son being heartbroken. While the doctor was holding him, he let out a squeak as if he’d been squeezed too hard, then he stopped moving, in which the doctor said “he needs oxygen” and took him out of the room. A minute later the assistant came in saying “he’s crashing”, then 2 minutes later they both came in, the doctor holding him, saying “he’s unfortunately died”…. In less than 5 minutes he went from being alive & healthy, to being dead. While it’s just a hamster, my son was deeply attached and loved his pet. He is already dealing with my younger brothers tragic death Feb 11th, and my cousins death from November. He also was with my dad when my dad died in 2017, and he lost his father a year before that. My son has suffered immense loss in his 16 years, and the very last thing he deserved was to send his beloved pet to a simple vet appointment only for it to die…. I’m not sure what went wrong today, if he was squeezed to hard or just traumatized, but this was not ok….

I highly recommend this Vet Hospital, and also highly recommend Laura Gold. My puppy was coughing terribly the other night and we took him to the Emergency Vet Hospital of the Fraser valley (only place open) and they suspected Kennel Cough, gave us cough syrup and sent us home. That night was horrible, our puppy was coughing and hacking stuff up ALL night. I wasn't feeling right about the original diagnosis and took him into to see our regular vet, Laura Gold. Not only did she make time for him that day when she heard his symptoms, but after seeing how sick our dog was she knew right away it was something more then just cough syrup needed. He had pneumonia, and was a very sick puppy. She was so friendly and patient with our puppy (who isn't a fan of body handling) and was extremely informative about what was going on. She personally phoned us later that evening after he was sent home to check on him, and again the following morning, and afternoon. You can tell she really cares about the animals she helps, and it makes a scary situation with your animal better. After her knowledge and treatment and care our puppy is doing so much better in a matter of days. We won't ever take our puppy, or any other animals we have or will have in the future, anywhere else.

My two dogs have spent a great amount of time here. Between them they've had several illness and surgeries and the staff here has dealt with them all professionally and humanly. Most recently I had to put one of my dogs down and they showed great compassion and understanding. I wouldn't trust my dogs to anyone but Dr. Tremblay. (And Dr. Bedford and Dr. Kocheff are pretty awesome too!).

Took my cat here at opening hours, to find out they ONLY accept patients that are getting surgeries.. My cat was having troubles breathing which I told the lady, and she advised I went to Langley animal hospital. Which is quite a distance, so we went to the closest open hospital. My cat died on the way to that hospital. This hospital needs to be more specific on what hours they are actually OPEN, and they should not be turning away an animal that's having troubles breathing.. I lost a family member today, and I wanted to thank the lady working there for doing such an AMAZING job at taking care of animals.

Very unprofessional and rude. Called as soon as they opened as my puppy had a tense back and sore stomach. They said they didn't have room but could do a drop off and see her in between other animals....
Very unprofessional and rude. Called as soon as they opened as my puppy had a tense back and sore stomach. They said they didn't have room but could do a drop off and see her in between other animals. Then they said it may be best to take her to emergency incase they can't see her right away. When I called emergency vet they said they don't have any of their special services today(because it's the weekend) and that we may as well go see a regular vet since there is nothing more they could do.
We arrive at maple ridge vet and when we get there the receptionist act like she had no idea we ever spoke in the morning and then went to the back room to call the emergency vet and came out saying that they didn't see us or talk to us and our situation did not sound familiar.
Then they procceed to tell us the vet doesn't have any time to see us and can't do a drop off appointment anymore.
I don't know how you work at a vets office and see a small puppy shivering in pain then have the audacity to turn us away after just one hour ago you said you could take us. That's very disrespectful and heartless. People like that should not work in animal clinics as they lack compassion and knowledge or even common sense that animals truly need.

I witnessed Sophie going from not being able to walk well to functional with twice a month accupuncture sessions. I watched her relax and roll over for Paula each session. It was a calming and healing experience for us humans and for dear Sophie, Mom's dog. Her vet and health care of Sophie was impeccable right up to the end of Sophie's life. My Mom has recently passed on, and am writing this in honour of my Mom's experience and the deep fondness and regard she held for Dr. Paula Bedford and our gratitude for the care we all received from Paula... Human and dog. But most especially from Mom's beloved Irish wolfhound, Sophie... Thank you.

I have had cats to several veterinary hospitals in Maple Ridge. I have to say this hospital is the best I have visited. Dr. Tremblay is a wonderful veterinarian. She is enthusiastic, kind, understanding and honest. You will feel confident with the care she gives your pet. I am so happy to have found this hospital. The staff are all kind and efficient. We chose the vet due to proximity to our house however upon entering in the receptionist was very friendly. The vet was very thorough and extremely knowledgable. This is our first puppy and he gave us good advice. He was friendly with our toddler and let him 'help' with the exam. Overall it was a positive experience and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a new vet.

Took my cat here at opening hours, to find out they ONLY accept patients that are getting surgeries.. My cat was having troubles breathing which I told the lady, and she advised I went to Langley animal hospital. Which is quite a distance, so we went to the closest open hospital. My cat died on the way to that hospital. This hospital needs to be more specific on what hours they are actually OPEN, and they should not be turning away an animal that's having troubles breathing.. I lost a family member today, and I wanted to thank the lady working there for doing such an AMAZING job at taking care of animals.

This is a fairly good place for your cat or dog. Be wary of leaving your pet overnight as they are left alone all evening and night until they open again in the morning.

Very unprofessional and rude. Called as soon as they opened as my puppy had a tense back and sore stomach. They said they didn't have room but could do a drop off and see her in between other animals....
Very unprofessional and rude. Called as soon as they opened as my puppy had a tense back and sore stomach. They said they didn't have room but could do a drop off and see her in between other animals. Then they said it may be best to take her to emergency incase they can't see her right away. When I called emergency vet they said they don't have any of their special services today(because it's the weekend) and that we may as well go see a regular vet since there is nothing more they could do.
We arrive at maple ridge vet and when we get there the receptionist act like she had no idea we ever spoke in the morning and then went to the back room to call the emergency vet and came out saying that they didn't see us or talk to us and our situation did not sound familiar.
Then they procceed to tell us the vet doesn't have any time to see us and can't do a drop off appointment anymore.
I don't know how you work at a vets office and see a small puppy shivering in pain then have the audacity to turn us away after just one hour ago you said you could take us. That's very disrespectful and heartless. People like that should not work in animal clinics as they lack compassion and knowledge or even common sense that animals truly need.

Love Dr Bedford she is the kindest sweetest lady. All the vets are wonderful. we have had 5 cats and a dog be regulars since 2007 and we trust this team to take care of our babies.

@[569501194:Paula Bedford] is one of the best vets, the best animal acupuncturist.. Full stop. She cared for my Mom's dog in the most compassionate, kind and healing way. I witnessed Sophie going from not being able to walk well to functional with twice a month accupuncture sessions. I watched her relax and roll over for Paula each session. It was a calming and healing experience for us humans and for dear Sophie, Mom's dog. Her vet and health care of Sophie was impeccable right up to the end of Sophie's life. My Mom has recently passed on, and am writing this in honour of my Mom's experience and the deep fondness and regard she held for Dr. Paula Bedford and our gratitude for the care we all received from Paula... Human and dog. But most especially from Mom's beloved Irish wolfhound, Sophie... Thank you.

My dog now loves going to the clinic as they love him like there own! I cannot say this enough that the staff here are amazing!!

I have had cats to several veterinary hospitals in Maple Ridge. I have to say this hospital is the best I have visited. Dr. Tremblay is a wonderful veterinarian. She is enthusiastic, kind, understanding and honest. You will feel confident with the care she gives your pet. I am so happy to have found this hospital. The staff are all kind and efficient. Phone calls are returned promptly and you can be confident the information you receive is reliable.

We chose the vet due to proximity to our house however upon entering in the receptionist was very friendly. The vet was very thorough and extremely knowledgable. This is our first puppy and he gave us good advice. He was friendly with our toddler and let him 'help' with the exam. Overall it was a positive experience and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a new vet.
