Do not take your pets here. My dog died last night. from not having the right treatment. The doctor had a hunch of what was going on but still did not treat her. These people are evil they will prey on your love of your animals. There were no cheaper than 700$ treatment for my sick throwing up cat (xray and blood work). They knew from the moment I walked in that I had limited funds as I told them I am disabled. This is my anxiety animal. All of a sudden when I told the vet I could not afford 700$ suddenly they had a cheaper solution to calm her stomach and see if she is eating again which is what I asked for in the first place bu y was told "I'm irresponsible if I don't do the suggested tests adding up to 700 $ On my way out they told me that the injection was 75$ for which I didn't have all of. She then told me when I asked for the name of the drugs in case she had a bad reaction and I need to go to a competent vet that "they wouldn't be telling me the name of the drugs until I paid" i have spoken to the police and the college of vets and the bcspca and this is considered direct animal cruelty . RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL STAFF! Several of my family members and I have been taking pets here since 1998. Unfortunately my latest experience here was awful and will most definitely be my last, nor will any of my family and friends be returning. We dropped our puppy off to be spayed and the front desk staff was very very rude, followed by a disturbingly unprofessional phone conversation with the manager. I no longer felt I could trust these people with my pet, so I actually turned around and picked my dog up, before they had a chance to do anything to her. After moving from Toronto and having the same vet for so many years it was tough to find a new Vet. I had went to another clinic before this one and as my older dog had a serious health issue show up on blood work they suggested a laundry list of tests and I felt that it was unnecessary so I came to Alpine animal hospital for a second opinion. The Doctor here was much more experienced and through looking at the information said my dog needed only 2 tests and I got a diagnosis. Not only without having to pay for more tests than what was needed but less stress on my dog of having to go through all of them. The staff really care about animals also. Read Less

I have taken both cats and dogs to this clinic for years and have always been impressed by the care and professionalism of the vets and staff. The staff take time to give out pets hugs and treats and the vet has been very helpful in coming up with solutions when the bills started to get big for our old dog. Read Less

In the summer of 2016 we brought in my mom's Cat. She paid the vet bill at the time with her credit card; mom handed me the card as she held the cat and I handed it the the lady behind the counter to run. Today in mid February of 2017 we get a bill saying there was extra work we did not pay for. Needless to say, we find this highly questionable. While Dr Singh is a nice enough guy and all that, I find their billing practices to be highly questionable. It seems we had an extra test that was issued but not yet paid for before the cat was brought home. Now while the level of service at the vet hospital is recommendable, I find surprises like this having me give second thoughts. Read Less

LIARS!!! FAILED TO RECOGNIZE ILLNESS IN FAVOR OF $$$ I spent over $1000 on my sick pet, NO answer to the issue, NO help, NO instructions, NO concern or care. I was told there was nothing odd about my pets blood work!! NOW 2 months later when I went to a different vet (due to sudden rapidly declining health) I was explained how it was VERY OBVIOUS there was an issue at the time and that I should have been told!! I now must euthanize my little friend tomorrow because this vet FAILED to identify the issue and LIED to me about the blood work results. Excellent humans doing excellent work. My dog's first check up with Alpine cost under $30.00, including half a nail trim. The techs were far more patient with the nail clipping process than my little pal, and the vet was clear and concise in discussing medication options, without condescending or talking down to me. So when my dog lost a fight with a moving car, I felt confident in taking him to Alpine again. I feel that he got the surgical care he needed, without unnecessary up sells like a full blood panel or xrays (seeing as he had a torn muscle). His incision and sutures were done with care, and his scar is smooth and will be completely concealed once his hair grows back. I'm still getting used to the small town feel of this clinic, and the genuine care from the staff. At the end of the day, any vets' office is a business, but Alpine feels more like a clinic. We just started at this vet and have only been there once, but we love it because their exam fee is only $15!! Countless times at other vets we have had to pay $50 per dog for an exam, only to have a vet say it's just a minor issue that will pass on it's own... .feels like a lot of money for nothing!! At least here we will only ever have to pay $15 for the peace of mind and are more likely to bring our pets to the vets even if their issue is minor. The experience we had was very upsetting to us on top of having our cat sick we were feeing very ripped off. Our cat was throwing up a lot and was losing weight we took him to Alpine and the Dr insisted on taking blood tests 348$ so he said the results would be ready the next day and they would call us. So we took the cat home and he was feeing better due to the hydration shots they provided, but was still throwing up. The next day we stopped in to see if the test results were in and the Dr said yes they were and everything was "just fine". Days later our cat was still throwing up and not doing well so we went back where we seen a different Dr at Alpine. He looked at the test  resultes and said that the cat probley has Pancreitis and his system needed time to settle down and hopefully he will stop throwing up. And also took X-rays 150$ plus 60$ finding nothing in the X-rays. Frustrated we went to a Vet recommended by a friend they took X rays found an obstruction in his intestines, operated and our cat is better. No Thank you to Alpine for costing us an extra 600$ plus and for causing us nothing but grief and almost costing our cats life. Read Less

Dr. Singh is the most caring, smart and compassionate veterinarian I've ever met. He saved my dog's life about triple times and I can not forget the moment he wanted me to try out method when I was literally about to give up on my dog due to her serious nerve problems (I was not able to afford $8000 of surgery twice and it was right after her first surgery had done) When my dog had a serious nerve problem on her back, I was running up and down to all the vet and all the veterinarians I met said it is out of their hands however Dr. Singh spell magic on my dog, cured her and made her alive!! I still cant believe she is here with me everyday and stay healthy. I am incredibly lucky that I met Dr. Singh!!!!! I strongly recommend this place. Meet with Dr. Singh. He is genius. You won't regret it for sure. I believe it is a part of our responsibility as a owner to find a good and trusted veterinarian to make your dog to stay happy and healthy. Read Less

DO NOT GO HERE!  Let me repeat that (really if all you take out of this is not to go here, that would be great), DO NOT GO HERE.I'll copy and paste what I wrote on another site: Jerk told me we had to put my small dog under to clip her nails because they were too long.  Took her to a more trusted vet who did it in less than 10 minutes, told me it was no problem, and did NOT even suggest putting her under.  The jerk (vet) pressured me to do a biopsy on my other dog right then and there and seemed more than irritated when I said I would actually prefer to take him somewhere else.Pretty sure if you care about animals, the fact that this piece of shit vet would put a pet under needlessly should be enough to make you wish this guy wasn't even allowed to look at an animal.  Personally I absolutely hated the vet for so many reasons.  He was rough with my 2 small dogs, seemed to only care about doing as much as possible to get money.  I mean who the hell puts dogs under to clip nails?  I honestly knew to leave right then, and did.  Like I said, I brought her to another vet (unfortunately 45 minutes away...but their health is worth it) who like I said, cut them just fine and when I asked told me there was no problem at all.From meeting the vet at Alpine (my brother was with me and felt the same way) I 100% feel that he KNEW she did not need to be put under but was going to do that in order to get the most amount of money from me.  I would actually hope he wouldn't put her under and just tell me he did and charge me...but who knows what he was planning.  The other unlikely possibility is that he actually believed she needed to be put under.....either way he shouldn't be working as a vet.  DON'T go here.  Sorry I can't recommend any other New West Vets as I don't go to one out here and that was the only one I tried before deciding to just take my dogs to a vet someone recommended to me.  I assume that most other vets would at least be better than this guy though....seriously this guy did not give a shit about my dogs. First, the map here shows this animal hospital on 6th Ave, it's actually on 6th street next to 7-11.  I was in New West on some biz and had my pup with me.  It was coffee time and there was no where to leash him up outside.  I didn't take my pup in here for any doctor visits: however, I noticed the hospital and figured I could ask them to watch him for a min or two while I grab a cup of Joe.  The person behind the counter was nice and said no problem.  If I was living in New West I would defiantly try this place out as my vet. I used to take my cats here. The positive things about this hospital is the vets are terrific and the prices are good. However, I decided to find another vet, because even though the Doctors were good, I found the support staff something to be desired. I found them to be very abrupt, and not to care about my pets, or me as a customer. I felt should an emergency happen, I would never feel comfortable having them watch over my cats, if I had to leave them there overnight or for surgery, so I found another hospital, where all the staff are caring people. I've always had a good experience here.  I volunteered for 2+ yrs with the Royal City Humane Society, and this is where we took all our resident cats for their injections, exams, and where we diagnosed any and all sick ones.  Dr. Singh was so awesome, and worked so hard on our behalf to make sure all the animals were healthy.  I take my own (fairly healthy) cat there regularly, with no issue.  Besides, you get to hang out with Edward the cat between appointments! I am of two minds on this place.  I have heard bad things from my best friend but great things from my parents.  My experience was kind of middle of the road.  I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that my cat passed away less than a week after being there.  I know that his passing had nothing to do with the place but I question whether the first treatment they gave my cat was correct, as my best friends cat was misdiagnosed a couple of times there and it wasn't until she went to another vet that the nasal problem her cat was having was in fact a tumor.  I think this is a place that should be reviewed on a case by case basis.
