Lily says Thanks to All About Cats Veterinary ClinicWe recently brought our cat for a grooming, checkup, and to see why she was not eating properly. The staff  were so thorough and kind with our kitty as always. We found out she had cancer and we had the option of treatment for her, to make her comfortable for a while longer or to help her by not having her suffer any longer. We made the very hard decision to have her euthanized as the cancer  was very aggressive and spreading quickly. We would like to thank all the staff that had looked after Lily over the 13+ years of her spoiled life.  A Very Special thanks to Dr. Karen Kutney for calling us so quickly to discuss the problem and explain the options available. The final decision was ours to make, we chose the best decision for our cat Lily. Read Less

MY experience was only over the phone thank god... The lady took forever trying to figure out the answer to my question over the phone, which was how much does it cost to spay my cat.... Final answer? $500 with a micro chip... $454 without a micro chip, and that's if she HASN'T gone through her first heat cycle. After that the price goes up again. WHAT A JOKE! There is way to big a problem with cats mass producing and unfortunately getting stuck in shelters or worse because the mother cat was not spayed. My precious kitty is extremely timid. She needed her nails clipped very badly. I called in advance and told them this and that for her nails to be clipped she would need to be sedated. They said they could not do this without a check up. Fair enough. So $100.00 check up and they attempted to cut her nails. I was somewhat numb and puzzled but three of them, vet and two lovely assistants held Lilly (my cat) with a blanket and then a blindfold and then asked me to leave the room. Lilly was screaming so loud I saw stars. Even the house cat was startled. They did not give up for many minutes trying to aggressively cut her nails while she was in this extreme state of panic and distress. They finally gave up and said I would need to bring her in for an appointment to have her sedated to clip her nails. This was complexity and totally an unnecessary power play. Aggressive and useles. 3 people ?!?!? Lilly was not fighting she was traumatized. Screaming like I have never heard an animal sound. Driving by the place makes me sad. Whenever possible I prefer to take my cats to cat only vets, so I was extremely pleased to discover a well-established one on the North Shore when I moved to Vancouver.I've never been dissatisfied with the service I've received from this clinic. They're always extremely friendly, recognizing me whenever I walk in to pick up food and are all very knowledgeable. Plus, when my cat was extremely sick with gall stones, requiring surgery to remove them, I felt extremely comfortable knowing that my girl was in good hands. As with any vet service, it can be very spendy, but I feel the cost is absolutely worth it especially given that this particular clinic ONLY deals with cats and therefore loves them as much as I do and knows as much as they possibly can about treating them. The facility itself is clean and bright and easily accessible right off Marine Drive.
