I took in my sick cat they gave her a medication called Tapazole. My cat had horrific side effects and nearly died. She couldn’t hold down food or water. Rather than giving her an anti nausea injection they sent me to a non specified Emergency clinic all the way in Nanaimo rather than helping my cat. I’m not from B.C. I didn’t even know where to go. Very ignorant and said it’s impossible it’s the Tapazole causing these side effects when two other veterinarians confirmed that yes it was the Tapazole causing these side effects. They gave up on my cat and simply sent me elsewhere after I paid so much money. A veterinarian should never give up on an animal. My cat would have died if I didn’t have a vehicle and credit cards, this is animal cruelty and negligence. Not everyone can up and go to Nanaimo emergency veterinary clinic. I don’t know why other local veterinarians weren’t recommended?! It was around noon I called in so other clinics were open.
Horrible staff, rude, heartless and ignorant when it comes to questions. I was even charged for her urine analysis and blood analysis papers which I already paid hundreds for. I believe once you pay for your pet’s blood and urine analysis a copy is yours, you paid already!! It’s a print out it’s so simple nothing but clicking print on a computer. Also I feel tricked as they said come in take some pics on your phone, when I arrived the staff member pushed the papers over and said “run”. Next time in it was charged as an outstanding bill. They make up charges when you’re not even present in the office!! I’d rather have had pictures at no charge as I believe I own the rights to my pet’s paperwork I paid hundreds for. So extremely unprofessional. Previous clinics have emailed me my paperwork at ZERO COST years later so I was able to show this veterinarian my cat’s previous results, as I was trying to be as helpful as I could be. They never even checked up to see how my cat is. They didn’t care about my sick cat. Worst experience I’ve ever had. I felt hopeless. To all the others who have had horrible experiences here, such as myself, and the other’s who had to prematurely experience the death of your pet here as I’ve seen on previous ratings and experiences please report your experience to CVBC so they can investigate this clinic!! Went to see the vet. She is mean and can not look you in the eye. She rolls them back in her head. I took my dog there and she had none cancer. Had to put her down. Bought medication for her once a month. My cat was ran over. The police shot her in the head 2 times. Had her cremated. Then my other cat broke off his tooth and he was 15. She said to get an operation but it might kill him. So she said bring him in every time his tooth gets infected she said it was up to us what we wanted to do. So we were saving up and thinking about it. What is the best decision. A month later her receptionist calls us and say we meet to get the operation done. I'm thinking what the hell. Any way I did not have enough money saved up. 😢 They called the spca on me and said it was animal abuse. Turns out he would have died he was not doing well. I felt hurt and betrayed by my own animal doctor. Then she wrote a letter that we will no longer take you on. The vet that has the crazy eyes is messed up. STAY AWAY FROM HER. Read Less

Terrible service. Felt like I was paying to sit through a 45minute long infomercial on products and services even after I expressed my tight financial situation. Did not get the impression the veterinarian there cared about anything more than my wallet. My dog was treated roughly and came out worse than when he went in. The place is dirty and smelled awful. Worst vet experience I have ever had. The vet did not listen to my description of the issue and continuously treated it as if it was something other. I wish I had kept my money and went elsewhere (even out of town). Do not recommend this place. Discovered after it has a bad reputation around town.Read Less
