I am not typically a person who reviews anything (good or bad), but two years later and I still feel the need to warn people about this place. When traveling through BC, my pup cracked her nail (which is apparently pretty common). We took her in immediately to the first vet we could find, which was, unfortunately, this one. The secretary unbelievably rude, and the vet that we dealt with made me feel like a monster for not realizing sooner (even though I took her in as soon as I realized). After feeling like garbage they convinced me (a poor student) to spend a total of $650 to clip the nail. I found out only 2 months later from my family vet that this is normally a $50 procedure (I confirmed this with two different veterinary clinics in BC and they told me the same). They took advantage of me, being a young and naive first-time pet owner, and made me feel like a horrible person. Please, go anywhere else before taking your pet to this horrible place, they have no interest in helping your pets, only in scamming you. Read Less

Wow, you sure can't 100% trust your vet.  My vet nurse told me not to buy a big bag of hard dog food for my dog, keep to the small one, because each time you open it you lose some of the nutrients.  How dumb does she think I am?  She also told me not to give my dog bones with bone marrow because bone marrow is just lard and there is nothing good in it for them.  I researched and found that there are many good nutrients in bone marrow.  And the third thing, I actually compared the soft dog food I am buying to what she was trying to sell me which was so bleeping expensive, and they were very close.  Hmmmmmm.   And now the latest, we cannot do a biopsy or fine-needle aspirate of my dog's lump on his back, because once you let the air in, if it is cancer it just spreads, so it can only be surgically removed.  Hence, I have changed vets. I think they are taking advantage of my alderly friend and his attachment to his older dog. He is very distressed about the amount of money he is paying them every month. 1000 this month alone. He pays hundreds every month to them for food they insist dog needs. And so called booser shots...but no animal needs a "booser" shot. Just like humans do NOT need a booter shot for polio. U only need it once! Same for cats and dogs. I feel they are taking advantage. Read Less

I would not go here again. I wanted help taking care of wounds my cat received in a fight. They didn't seem to care about our pet, just quickly looked at him and said needed $450+ to clean and care for the wound, had to sedate, etc. I was not pleased, so asked how much I owed for the look over that took a few minutes. $60?!?!?! Jerks. Paid them and left. The other vet by Coombs candy said less than $200 for the same, they had better customer service but we decided we would just do our best to take care at home. It is a month later and cat has been doing fine, we just washed wound with saline flush every day twice a day and a few antiseptic wash flushes for a week. For wounds that weren't that bad, and able to take care of them at home, Bute vets said $450? Would not recommend to anyone, they didn't seem to care about animals just money. Read Less
