Our 9 month Golden Retriever was recently struck by a car, which was driving too fast down our block. The call was made to Pacific Rim Vet, just after 5:30pm, which meant that they were technically closed. As soon as they found out what happened, they told us to get there ASAP, which we did. They were waiting at the front door, and immediately went to work on our Sadie. Despite their best efforts, nothing could be done to save her. Dr. Patty Radcliffe and her staff went above and beyond in the compassion/love that they showed for not only our dog, but for our family. To know that your pet is in the hands of people who have as much love for animals as you do is something that can't be described - it's felt. These folks are absolutely fantastic. I brought my dog Buddy here for after surgery care. His surgery was done in Vancouver, however, as I live closer to Port Alberni, needed someone closer to home, especially as he was having complications almost immediately after getting him home. Just stopped by two days after his procedure as his foot was swollen to twice it's normal size, Although they were very busy they still fit me in. Dr. Holly (a gem) immediately took control of his post surgery care, giving me much better and more clear instructions than the original vet. She explained everything in amazing detail, spent more time with him than she probably had to spare for someone that just stopped in without an appointment, and obviously really cared. I've brought Buddy back twice now for further check ups and due to her care, his wound is healing really nicely. Can't say enough good things about them. The front staff are all super, I never feel rushed out, and they are very reasonably priced. I wish I'd had his original surgery done there. Absolutely recommended.Read Less
