I finally read through the 1 star reviews after posting my first on Google, and it's fairly consistent. Staff are rude and unprofessional and there has been a slow and steady decline of care to this establishment. They've almost killed 1 of my dogs, and almost permanently damaged another. Not all staff of course, but a fair amount to run this clinic to the ground. Below is my google review that highlights the reasons why I am livid with this clinic and to hopefully help other dog families looking for a new vet that won't drain their pockets, and leave them with more issues than they had coming in.
Overbilling seems to be their motto. I have been their client for over 5 years and had multiple issues. My family and friends told me for years that they cannot be trusted and I should find a better vet clinic, but due to Dr Maja’s knowledge of frenchies, I stuck around. I got shafted continuously, and I think this time they crossed the line. I hope this review helps others to avoid such establishments and calls them out for what they are, a clinic that is funded by greed and unprofessionalism. Below are a few of the most recent (but not limited to) problems I’ve had with them in the past:
1. They put my frenchie under without my or my mothers consent in a non-emergency state. He came out with major back issues. My guess is that they had handled him incorrectly during the X-ray while he was under anesthetic. Their response was completely deflecting, that frenchies are prone to back issues and I should take him to Canada west. He went in fully mobile, and having a minor issue with his back left paw, and came out an hour later unable to walk! After Canada wests testing of $7k that isn’t covered by insurance, we found out that it was a tweak and he isn’t a candidate for a surgery. Somehow I forgave them. Louis was back and walking normally within 1 month w/ home PT.
2. They had given me pills for my Boston’s kidney issues. Every since starting to take the pills, my Boston became gravely ill. He wouldn’t eat, and wouldn’t really move. It was the right thing to do to subscribe that medication since it was meant to help with kidney problems. I called and advised them 4 days later that it’s probably the pills that were making him ill and asked whether I should stop administering them. They said whatever you do, don’t stop providing him the pills. I continued giving the pills 2 more days and called again as it persisted. The answer was the same, and urged me to go to Canada west to have them look at him. Canada West were very professional and told me they would’ve kept him for 3 days on IV to find out he has kidney issues and there is nothing we do short of dialysis. Since I do not have $25k for the IV and dialysis, I decided against dr Majas strong recommendation and kept him home with me without giving him another pill. In one day he started recovering. By day 3 he was back to normal and lived another year and a bit! Had I continued giving him the pills, he would’ve definitely been in the ground in several days. Shame on you!
3. Due to these severe allergies my frenchie was born with, he is prone to ear infections. He recently had an ear infection which they tested and gave me solution for. They called me for a follow up a week later, and mentioned it was just to see how he is doing and that it’ll be 5 minutes and I won’t be charged. I get there late, but end up staying 45 minutes, with no result and a bill. I tell the receptionist I have to go to an important dinner and I wasn’t supposed to be charged but to send me the bill. The receptionist was obnoxious, and unprofessional throughout.
Today (after paying the bill) I was told to go to another vet as I am causing problems by asking why they are charging me. Surely you could take into account that my dog has 90% insurance coverage and that this isn’t an expense to me, but you guys are perhaps scamming the insurer? Also taking into account I’ve probably spent over $10k (ran rough numbers from my credit cards) over the duration of 5 years and that a $100 isn’t an issue…it is your clinic entirely over and over again. Good riddance my dogs and I are safe and we are happy to never return Read Less
