I actually did not have a good experience at this vet clinic. The girls at the front were nice and helpful. I made the appointment for my dog to get his booster shots. In addition to the booster shots, I was also expected to pay 83 dollars for a check-up which I did not ask for. I felt this was unfair because as a paying customer it is my decision what services I want for my dog. Also, I never said I wanted a check up nor an exam. I feel like there was a miscommunication about the services. However, what happened after that is why I am dissatisfied with the veterinarian and the lack of professionalism on his part. I asked the girls at the front to please get the vet to call me back as I felt this issue needed to be straightened out. At first, the vet listened to me and my issue but after I finished talking, he then straight out told me something to the lines of 'I don't want anything to do with you, I don't care about your money and you are banned from my clinic, you are never to come back here again! Very strange vet whenever we take our dog Jake there he always after a surgery seems to have a problem this was also not his first vet but the second one we took him too after he got a scratch on his eyeball they removed the eyeball due to infection we came back a few months later and he had an infection in his teeth they then said he was good to come back home he then got another infection in his mouth he got 4 more teeth removed(2 on the first surgery) and now he has a lump on his penis area and i personally think the vet is a bit shady i would recommend if you can't go anywhere else but other then that i don't trust them.there anymore plus the dog's overall surgeries costed about 5k for all Not worth it if you ask me i am currently looking for a new vet to take my dog to as i don't want to put him through more stress And uncertainty But overall the man is an excellent surgeon Though again very shady guy Read Less

We spend the summers on the Island and our retriever/collie cross had several seizures while on anti-seizure medication. I called the clinic and was given an appointment the next day. The staff was wonderful. They schedule the appointments so that waiting time is minimal. Dr Stacey is very professional and discussed various approaches to addressing my dogs condition. We switched to this vet because our neighbor that does cat rescue said they were caring and reasonable. We were greeted well, had our dogs teeth cleaned at half the price of our regular vet and phoned is the next day to see if everything was ok. Great customer service. We also renewed some anti inflammatory medication at half the price we were paying elsewhere (it is the genetic brand but seems fine). These folks are definitely in business for the animals. We recently moved to Saanich and we have 2 little dogs so we were looking for a new veterinarian, we decided to give the Saanich Village Veterinary hospital a try for our 2 little dogs. We were extremely dissatisfied with our first experience. Our older dog has been on cartrophen (arthritis medication) for a couple of years which we pick up from the vet each month and give the injection ourselves. When I went to pick up the medication I was billed $28.67, I questioned the amount for this because the most we had ever paid at 2 different vets over the years was just under $14. When I questioned the person at reception, because I was sure they had made a mistake, her attitude was really poor, she did not seem to care what I had to say and just kept saying "well that is what we charge", a take it or leave it attitude, I really got the impression that they did not care one way or the other what I had to say or if they ever saw us again. I called a few vets (our last vet, one in langford and another vet in Saanich and they all charged $13-14 for the cartrophen shot when we administered it ourselves, which we have always done. We were not impressed with this vet and it was our first encounter with them. How can they justify gouging their clients by charging almost double what most vets charge. I can not express how amazing everyone that works at this clinic is. I very recently had to make the difficult decision that my 17 year old orange tabby was no longer living comfortably and it was time to say good bye, from start to finish everyone was wonderful and made it as easy as it could be for all involved. Dr Stacey is awesome! I have 2 cats and a pomeranian and now take them all here. I recently had dental work done on 1 cat and my dog. The cat started playing with toys for the first time in years and my dog came home and immediately wanted to eat! They staff are all so lovely and the cost of treatments/procedures is generally less than my previous vet. They never pressure you into any decisions or make you feel bad. I am so happy I switched!!! When my husband came home from work today Tiger, our very special cat, was in extreme distress. He was laying on the bedroom floor howling, unable to walk or even move. Our regular vet was away on a house call so they recommended that we call Dr. Stacey. When I called he was away from the office. He came back early just to see Tiger and saved him from a severe attack of hypoglycemia! His blood/sugar level was 1.2!! It was very scary. An afternoon of an IV and Tiger is back to normal.
