I have been a client at the Beacon Cat Hospital since 1994. I have never received anything short of dedicated and caring service. In 2007, my beloved guy "Ice" was going down-hill in a hurry. He was experiencing seizures from time to time. Dr. Ellen Guttormson did what she could at the office, but it was clear that he needed care on a 24/7 basis. She actually took him home with her, where he lived in her bathtub for about a week. She nursed him back to health, and a few days after returning to the office, he was fit to come home. With proper medication for hyperthyroidism, which isn't uncommon, he was able to enjoy a very reasonable quality of life for, what turned out to be, almost another 4 years. At that point he was almost 17, and literally over-night stopped eating. Drinking anything at all was a struggle. Dr. Guttormson discovered a very aggressive tumor in his mouth/throat. The tumor was basically asphyxiating him. Taking in to account his good life and his age, and above all, the magnitude of the tumor, we both agreed that it was time to end it humanely. She treated both of us with the utmost of dignity and respect during the procedure. I am 50 years of age and have kept many cats over 40 of those years. I currently have 3 joyous balls of fur whom are the loves of my life. My family. My sanctuary. My unconditional friends. I would encourage anyone who truly loves their cat to seek professional veterinary care at the Beacon Cat Hospital. True love means the issue of money goes out the window. For those who can't afford a whopper bill for services rendered, there is financial assistance available. Seek and you will likely find. When "Ice" was home after the bathtub stay, I received a bill for a little under $1,000. I did not have the means to pay any of it immediately. Dr. Guttormson knew this and she stepped forward and offered me credit for the whole amount. It was about two weeks until I could pay the whole bill. It was paid in full when I said it would be. Since then, and right up to this day, I have a line of credit at B.C.H., even through the change of ownership. To me, that's a genuine display from the heart from those who truly care. Read Less
