Have been going to Allondale Animal for years with many different dogs in our family. Staff are marvelous and really caring people. Have found them very accommodating when I needed to bring my dogs as soon as possible. They explain everything very thoroughly and seem to be pretty fair about their pricing. They have given me options and never force things on you. Find that they have gone beyond the call of duty on a couple of occasions. Highly recommend them. Dr Balcar is amazing! He has taken the time multiple times to contact me directly over the phone with questions and concerns that I've had. He has been most helpful in determining what is wrong with my kitty even when the diagnosis is a challenge. Their prices have been very reasonable and they have even offered a couple discounts along the way as the expense was taking a toll on me (it wasn't easy to figure out what she had going on) . They did everything they could to mitigate the price and find a solution. This vet cares about more than just money and they are very dedicated and knowledgeable. They have looked after 3 of my dogs, I had an emergency with Max. They couldn't help him because they didn't have enough staff (Vets). They wanted to have Max suffer in pain for the full day till one was available. It's sad, I took Max to another Animal Hospital where they took care on him right away. Read Less

I am glad I went to this place, I was quoted $450 on neutering my 10lb dog at a different clinic but this place was very reasonable in price. They don't have the most nicest decor but I appreciate how nice the staff. I feel that the vet and the staff genuinely cared and they are very approachable and squeezed me in last minute to follow up on my fur baby's recovery. Read Less

New Review: Ignore my earlier review below. While maybe their intentions are good, they are completely neglegent. My dog went for a very complex very involved oral surgery and they never bothered to take a single X-Ray and completely missed on the blood test that she had late stage cancer which should have been obvious there was an issue based on the levels. They decided to just probe the teeth, if they saw pus, then removed. As if that would catch all the bad teeth which were bad because of the late cancers effects. The entire teeth issue was also missed just a few months prior during a general checkup when doctor Balcar (not sure how you spell it) didn't even bother to take a good look in the dogs mouth. All of this lead to our dog suffering much longer than she should have and possibly contributed to the speed at which her final days came. Thankfully they were too busy to see us the day our dog got really sick and lethargic because we found a new vet which couldn't believe after removing so many teeth they didn't do so much as a single X-Ray. We didn't know any better at the time and they said it wasn't needed so they saved us some money. I will never step foot in that place again unless to give Dr Balcar/balkar/whatever a piece of my mind for being so inept as to miss poor oral health. This after last time he tried to tell us she probably had a fungus that was causing her issues with her crusty nose. Again, no looking in the mouth and missing the teeth issue once again while suggesting we do all sorts of expensive tests without even suggesting to do a blood test to check for signs of infection or disease. Loved the place until it helped send my dog to an early grave all because they wanted to 'save us some money' yet we agreed and wanted the X-Rays done and even had them on our quote. That was Dr. O'Grady (however it is spelt) who decided the probe, pus and pull technique. We'll never know now if he even got all the tooth out. Could have been was lead to her having the cancer suddenly take over. Stay away, the fact they haven't put any money back into their business shows how much they care. Its as stale as their techniques. --edit-- Great place to take your pets. I've only ever had issue with one doctor there and it is simple enough to request someone else. Bills seem fair in comparison to other alternatives from around the lower mainland. Pets can be expensive sometimes and people need to remember when it comes to bills, it is like not having health care, you have to pay up. Obviously make sure you know what you are getting into ahead of time and Allondale is great with providing best and worst case quotes so you know how bad the damage to your pocket book could be, but in the end you took a life into your hands and I believe I should take responsibility for that. I have two cats and I have been to both Allondale and Fraser Heights. Although I have no complaints regarding Fraser Heights, in my experience Allondale is far superior. At Fraser Heights, my checkup lasted about 2 mins and I was charged 80 bucks (it was an emergency situation and Allondale was booked full for the day) while at Allondale, their vets took much more time with the checkup and only charged me $60. I ended up having to get my cat surgery at Fraser Heights to remove a small portion of his tail, and that cost me around $800. Allondale quoted me much less than that, I think for around $500. Now, Fraser Heights is a much bigger place with a LOT of staff, so I understand that's why their costs are much more. Anyways, I highly recommend Allondale because their entire staff from the front desk to the vets are wonderful people, you can really sense the family atmosphere when you walk in. As for their prices, it's extremely fair. I paid $60 for a checkup, and $80 for both checkup and vaccine. Also, the vet asked me to take my cat back a second time around just so he can keep an eye on my cat...and didn't end up charging me for it! I'm not sure what the exact policy is, but definitely I felt like I was treated with honesty and integrity. I would definitely recommend Allondale! Read Less
