We struggled with medical answers for our cat, which compiled to multiple issues from GI, urinary and behavioural problems. We have been taking our cats and dogs to Dr. Bill and Avon Animal Hospital for about 15 years and have always had excellent care. Our dog is a street dog from India and soon after she arrived as a 41/2 month old pup, we found her adult teeth that came in did not have complete enamel on each tooth. Needless to say, extra vigilance and care was and is required. Not only has Dr. bill given us well-educated care and compassion throughout her dental journey, but is generous with his time and efforts to maintain our dog's teeth in good health. He does not push unnecessary procedures. He is careful to explain each procedure, show x-rays and state all options to maintain not only teeth but optimal well-being for all of our pets. I have to start off stating that the level of professionalism at this office is appalling, and that I do NOT recommend this vet. Before I begin to elaborate on why, I would like to say that the receptionists are absolutely lovely, and I had no issue with them. Dr. Bill however, I cannot say the same. From the get go, he was incredibly rude, and not only to myself. Throughout the entire visit, Dr. Bill berated his assistant to no end, to the point where she was visibly upset. Unfortunately, this was not the only problem, either. When he wasn't criticizing his assistant, he was attempting to upsell us throughout the entire visit. Dr. Bill demanded we run blood tests for our dog, and attempted to push us to sedate her that very day for dental work! This was a $300-$500 procedure, when we had only come in for a check-up. I have begun to think Dr. Bill is not a vet, but a salesmen. Attention! Be careful about vets there. They do scare you and then recommend you to have x-ray and blood test. But don't do it and find another place to get second opinion. I personally did not lessen to them and my lovely dog after using deworm medicine has fully recovered. Attention! All these good reviews are written by the same person. We've been dealing with AAH since they opened and over the years we have had a Lab and Yorkie pass due to age and currently have 2 more Yorkies, a Keeshond and a Persian cat. Dr. B and his staff have always shown compassion to us when it came time for the older ones and been knowledgeable, honest and reasonable in cost in care of our current pets. We recently had some issues with our youngest pet, the Keeshond and Dr. B did everything he could to help us determine the best course of action and we are very happy to say he is a happy dog again running around being the character that he is. My experience at Avon was good. I haven't taken my dog into a vet for a very long time and finding somewhere that is caring and upfront with what needs to be done is helpful. My wife normally takes my dog to the vet but this time it was me so i don't have any other vet to compare it to. However, with that being said they were quite nice, informative and explained everything quite thoroughly so that i could make my decision which is in the best interest of my dog. My family have been bringing our pets to see Baljit for many years. We are always happy with the care our pets receive. Baljit is knowledgeable, approachable and fair. Before finding Avon Animal hospital, I took my dog to three different veterinarians...the service reminded me of that of the old style used car salesman...couldn't trust what I was being told or what I was being 'sold,' and I certainly didn't feel my pet's welfare was the main concern. At one point i thought i would loose my dog, i was in a panic from all the exaggerated info i was receiving and tests etc my dog had to go through.... he had drunk water from a duck pond and got very sick. My dog was falling over, weak...i thought he was poisoned and going to die. We were referred to Avon Animal hospital, from my niece, who also always takes her dogs to Baljit. Baljit explained our dog was dehydrated, gave him shots and soon, he recovered. I wasn't sold anymore 400.00 blood tests...etc...We have been going to Avon ever since. I admit the reasonable prices Avon charges are appealing; but I trust the care my dog receives so much, that even after moving, we travel the extra miles, and do not question if prices are competitive, because at this point we know the value we have in Baljit's fair business practices and service.Read Less

On Saturday, June 21st, we brought the youngest member of our family, Charlie, to Avon Animal Hospital. Charlie was gravely ill with Parvo. His prognosis was grim and we honestly believe that if it were not for the dedicated veterinarians and staff at Avon we would not have brought a very happy puppy home with us today. There were daily visits with Charlie and phone calls made to Avon at least twice a day to check on his progress. The staff always made us feel welcome and we were never made to feel that we were bothering them with the endless questions, phone calls and visits. In fact, the girls set up a chair right next to Charlie's kennel for our daily visits. We will never be able to truly express out gratitude to everyone at Avon. Thank you for your patience, thank you for your compassion, thank you for your dedication, thank you for making us feel like family.
