UNRELIABLE STAFF. SOLELY FOCUSED ON MONEY. On March 31st we brought in our puppy for a spay appointment with Dr. Elaine Wu and noticed that once the time for recovery they specified there were 2 round masses underneath the incision area. We were unsure if this was normal during the healing process so we called into Fraser Heights Animal hospital and asked to send a photo in that Dr. Wu could look at so we would know whether to bring our puppy in or not, considering we are in a pandemic we thought this would be the safest way. Their reception loses the email and doesn't get back to us for a few days and we then need to call back and follow up about said email which we're asked to resend. We ended up having to go in 2 times about this same issue and after our second appointment we were told to monitor our puppy. So we have been and the lower mass subsided however there's still one remaining, today is May 20th. We decided to call in since it the mass remaining hasn't changed in appearance to have Dr. Wu look at it and the office manager MARIA (who also called me to apologize for the office staff dropping the ball with the email, full well knowing this is an ongoing issue) tells me that they'll be charging $81 for the exam appointment. I ask to speak to Dr. Wu about this over the phone before we come in. She tells me flat out "Dr. Wu won't be calling you she's too busy" and I ask when she'll have the time and she says she doesn't know. Basically communicating Dr. Wu won't call me to discuss a charge unless I'm willing to pay the charge. I let her know this is in correlation to the same issue that has been ongoing and she says she can't speak to that since Dr. Wu was the one who saw my dog and I said that's exactly why I want to speak to her ahead of time. Then she says if I want a phone consultation, they'll also charge me for that. I made it clear to her I wasn't looking for a phone consultation just to discuss the charge with Dr. Wu *before* we come in. Maria then makes it abundantly clear Dr. Wu will NOT have the time to chat indefinitely with an issue related to the surgery SHE performed and the office staff exacerbated with their lack of response. At this point we will not be returning to Fraser Heights Animal Hospital, seeing Dr. Wu or dealing with their incompetent office staff who can't even locate an email they asked us to send with images. Their office manager Maria is rude and curt and does not make an effort to work with you. Don't come here if you want actual care for your animal. It's a money grab. Read Less

THE BEST. I have been going there for 30 years. Dr. Smith is a legend. Having said that Dr. Mitchell is my go to. I have dealt with a number of other vets at the clinic and Dr. Smith only hires the best so they are all great, Dr Duffy, Dr Armstrong, Dr Wu pick one they are all great. Shout out to the tecs too, Maria, Cathy, Fanny and all the rest. For those of u that complain about cost. They are fair. If you check out some of the cut rate competition, you will hear horror stories. At Fraser Heights they treat your animal the way I WISH my human Dr would treat me. Read Less

This review is for Dr. Armstrong as she is the only veterinarian we dealt with at this Clinic. We had two elderly dogs that were sick for a long time and we were struggling with the process of knowing when to put them down. Dr. Armstrong ran necessary tests but also shared a personal story of how she made the tough decision in her own life. It helped us immensely. I have brought all my furry babies to Fraser Heights Animal Hospital for almost 24 years. I brought my cat Tigger into see Dr. Cindy Duff, as he felt like he was lighter than usual and he weight 25lbs at the time. Dr. Duff felt his stomach and decided he required an X-ray to see what he had in there, as she found a mass that looked like a pile of worms on the X-ray. When went in to remove the mass, it was 22 hair ties and 4 toy mouse tails. Well Tigger has an elastic hair tie fetish & he likes to eat anything elastic, string or wool. Dr. Duff is the best Veterinarian I've ever taken my furry babies to, she loves animals as much as I do and gives them a kiss on the nose when she greets them. You can tell by the way your pets are so calm with her they like her too!. The other Veterinarians are great as well and the receptionists are always amazing, so friendly & helpful, they get you signed in and out as fast as possible. The staff in the Store are very knowledgeable & helpful as well. All around great Animal Hospital! 5 Stars!! Read Less

Not only did the staff treat me with the highest level of courtesy, the doctor also took her time in performing due diligence with such loving care on every inch of my new boy!! Dr Armstrong extracted my dog's tooth without notifying me or getting authorization. My dog got a teeth cleaning FOR MAINTENANCE, not because he had any problems with his healthy teeth. I brush his teeth weekly and he had some plaque on his canines but very minimal. The estimate Dr Arad provided to us was $350 and he assured us that due to the healthy conditions of my dog's gums and teeth, that NO EXTRACTIONS were required. The hospital charged us for an unauthorized extraction, and pain medication, as well as 5 units (50min) of anesthesia. There were numerous dogs (at least 6) dropped off yesterday along with mine, and there is NO way the vet spent 1 of 8 opening hours on my dog. My dog cannot eat due to undue pain/suffering that "Dr" Armstrong has caused, by pulling a tooth unnecessarily, and without authorization. I called yesterday after taking a closer look at the bill, and not being notified as to why the extraction took place. I called and explained that no one had called us to let us know that an extraction was taking place, and whether an extraction was actually performed because no one had even mentioned it when my dog was picked up. The office receptionist said she would speak to the doctor and call me back within 30 min. NO CALL. I couldn't even sleep last night due to the fact that my dog was not eating and was in pain. I called this morning, only to be told that I needed to wait until after 1pm to speak to the manager. I will NEVER be going to the vet again. If you love your pets, do NOT trust this hospital with the care of your loved ones. They will NOT call you to obtain proper authorization, they will perform unnecessary procedures, bill you DOUBLE, and not even apologize or try to take care of the situation in an urgent manner. I AM VERY UPSET, and the hospital has caused my pet undue pain/suffering that I couldn't even prepare for. Read Less

Dr. Duff is the absolute best. She tested and diagnosed our dog's ear infection with the results available within minutes. She showed us a picture of the slide results and gave us a detailed explanation. She also let us listen to our dog's heart murmur that was missed by several vets before Dr. Duff. She was such a pleasure to deal with that my partner and I couldn't stop taking about how positive a vet visit could be. She is very knowledgeable and able to explain her expertise with a wonderful passion. She was great with making our dog feel comfortable and the interactions between dr. Duff and or dog was natural and genuine. We have a pitbull and have run into vets with an obvious bias towards the breed so we were pleasantly surprised. Our dog was actually wagging her tail when Dr. Duff came back to the room with the test results. A dog wagging a tail at a vets office, after getting an ear swab! I've never felt so confident in a vet after decades of being a dog owner and am so grateful we found her. Highly recommended! Read Less

Was recommended to take our puppy here from my neighbour. Have been going to Dr. Cindy Duff for over a year now, she is compassionate and very helpful. I really enjoy taking our dog to her, she seems to genuinely love her job. When our dog was going in to get neutered we had a lot of questions and we thought she may get offended or annoyed but answered all our questions happily. Shes engaging and explains everything. The road to recovery. A huge shout out to Fraser Heights Animal Hospital. They have been nothing but exceptional with Chevy's recovery. This is the first vet hospital that Chevy has not panicked when going in. Normally he shakes in fear or tried to play the escape game. Chevy felt extremely comfortable with the staff there and was happy going with them. The staff have impeccable customer service and they treat the animals coming and going as if they were their own. We are all skeptical of animal hospitals and how some tend to over charge, not deliver on their care or add extra add-ons which aren't necessary. I'm extremely pleased to say at no point I felt I was taken advantage of finacially throughout the recovery of Chevy. I was extremely pleased with their costs and felt like I wasn't taken advantage of. Chevy was treated amazingly by the Dr. and the vet staff. Dr. Guy Arad did fabulous at explaining all avenues and left nothing unsaid. His recommendation and his thoughts left you feeling good about the decisions you made. With my whole heart recommend him. I felt extremely comfortable knowing chevy was in good hands. After weekly visits and being in and out of the vet hospital for the last two months and still have a few more appointments to attend, I highly recommend them. Their staff is amazing and every single time I left there I felt good about the decisions we had made. We've been taking our cats to Fraser Heights Animal Hospital for over 15 years! We have always found the staff to be helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The facility is always sparkling clean. The office is very organized and well run.Yesterday, we brought our cat in to have her shots updated. Mandy, the veterinary receptionist, welcomed us immediately. She was very friendly, upbeat and professional. We were ushered into an exam room promptly.This was the first time that we saw Dr. Cindy Duff, who is very personable, friendly and kind. It is very clear that she loves animals, especially cats!. She impressed us right from the start, when she walked into the examination room with a fluffy towel for Phoebe (our kitty) to sit on instead of the cold metal of the exam table.Throughout Phoebe's exam, Dr. Duff spoke to her in calm, gentle tones and caressed her all the while. As a result our cat was relaxed and showed no signs of anxiety or stress. Dr. Duff answered all our concerns and asked us relevant questions about our two cats. She was very knowledgeable and we felt confident that we are getting the best care for our pets. She went over various options for treatments, and supplements that are available for senior animals. We left the clinic feeling happy and well taken care of. It is like a breath of fresh air taking your pet to Fraser Heights animal hospital. They don't do unnecessary testing on your animal just to take your dollars...they actually care about your pet. They are very knowledgeable and I feel most confident bringing my pets to them. Dr. Smith has been my vet for years now since I have my bulldogs. I am picky about vets, their training, their staff, their facilities and their prices. This place succeeds on all levels. The vets were busy but cared and stayed late to truly examine my dog, discuss their diagnosis and work with me to plan a course of treatment. It is rare that a vet doesn't make me feel that I am just supplying a dog for testing of new machines and treatments. These folks saw the dog for who he is and not what they could put him through. I liked that.It is scary when your dog stops walking, starts whimpering, can't pee and won't eat. Certainly, I was a candidate for expensive measures. But these folks took their time to examine and test him until they could truly show me the problems. When I learned my dog had liver cancer they gave me options for his care and time to think about what is best for him.Today, he is happy and mischievous again and I love our walks even more. Sure I know the problem is still there and we will monitor it through blood work and exams.Also, the folks at this hospital aren't extracting every dollar from my wallet in the process. I have had vets who mistook me for an ATM but these folks know the difference. And they cared. In my books they earned all 5 stars. Read Less
