I have been a client since 2002. On Jan 17 I was in desperate need to get my boy help since I was on disability for health issues. Funds were non existent as I was self-employed. . I found help through a charity. And The other alternative was to euthanize my dog because he is unfit to be re-home due to aggression, bite history and chronic medical conditions. The SPCA and Animal control Who I contacted for advice said tthat the chance of a successful re-homing would be very slim. and the alternative would be to have him euthanized. I found a charity that would help because I did not want to euthanize my dog. I kept The woman on the phone at the King’s George Animal Hospital That’s the only alternative would be to have amusenize because I cannot afford his treatment and he is not able to be rehomed Thank God I found help through charity and he’s still with me today and I love him dearly. July 2021 found my elderly client deceased in her house Now Her sweets Bassett is in my care And again I am desperate to get her help because she need a lumpectomy. I called dozens of clinics asking for help getting quotes. Every time I get a quote I have to take the dog in for exam and that cost money I think I’ve spent more than I could on exams so I’m just doing cold calling to find out roughly what they would charge for this procedure that they’ve done to other animals .On June 15 called King George Vet clinic And asked her that same question what their past quotes were for the same procedure. She kept insistent she cannot give me that information and I needed to bring the dog in for an exam. Which normally is common practice. Bud I Just wanted a rough idea on what it would cost before I took her in and paid for an exam She was argumentative and I got frustrated, I sarcastically said I am trained and if I had the tools I would do it myself. And hung up. June 16. SPCA cruelty department constable called me. I scheduled a meeting with her at a temporary dog park that I look after for the city of Surrey. There were people at this park with me and half of them were clients of this clinic that had recommended She filed a complaint against me stating I wanted to euthanize my dog I neglected to say why that might’ve been an option and also neglected to say that the procedure was done back in February 10 and it was paid for The second complaint was that I was going to perform the surgery on that Bassett myself. Just ridiculous, My last appointment for my boy was February 10 , 2022. It’s now June 16, It took over five months before she reported me to the SPCA animal cruelty, seriously. I have been in Animal welfare industry for almost 40yrs. Spca Vancouver Head Office right after high school. 15 years in a vet clinic. 2004 my own pet care company specializing in helping seniors with their pets and rescues. Veterinarians are required to report cruelty 100% But an unfounded animal cruelty complaint doesn’t help anyone because while time is wasted on something that’s ridiculous and unfounded there is an animal out there that actually does need the SPCA‘s help One thing positive though, thank you for calling the SPCA because now I have somebody to help me with the surgery for the Bassett. The SPCA is helping me find a clinic that would help with this dogs lumpectomy procedure That way i can get her ready to be rehomed, in a loving forever home. . As she’s had a traumatic year and deserves to be loved. I want to thank Dr Pruss for being a great vevtvand caring for my animals especially when my Bernie’s Mountain dog had cancer this clinic is same, it’s not the same principle and compassion I apologize for this complaint as this was your clinic before you sold it and the clients are in this hospital were your clients thank you for caring for my animals Read Less
