I would give this place negative stars if I could. My elderly dog passed away this summer and this hospital has refused to remove me from their email and postal mailing list. This was last fall and since that time I have told them no less than 3 times not to contact me again as my dog had passed, and I don't need overdue health reminder for my dog who has passed.
Newton Animal Hospital continues to send me overdue health reminders for my deceased dog. They will not stop. I email and tell them to, they acknowledge and then continue to do as they please. I have threatened legal action, complaints to the city, the BBB, chamber of commerce, the AVM. They will not stop. DO NOT TALE YOUR ANIMALS HERE. When your animals have passed, this horrible place not only emotionally tortures you with overdue health reminders, still trying to get money out of you when your pet is deceased, and refusal to stop contacting you. STAY FAR AWAY.

I don’t go to this vet. I heard it was a good Vet. I was at the small dog park across from there. One of my dogs in distress. I rushed him to the closest vet. I drove across king George why one of the other lady at the park stopped traffic. I get the the door is locked Covid I get that but we erratically and loudly knocked and yelled for help. Kept saying get the vet I have a dig dying No body answered we even caught the attention of police officer. Finally 4 women come to the door all I kept saying get the vet I have a sick dog. These women seemed dumb struck after a few min one decided to get details. We had no time for that he was serious. They told me they are not emergency there was no time. I just needed to see the doctor. I got back in my car and drove him to king George animal hospital also not an emergency hospital. And they rushed us in the doctor left her patient and came to assistant the dog. Tragically he died on the table. The time wasted to get him to another vet was crucial.l. I called them later and the receptionist kept telling me that she’s only a minimum wage worker what is suppose to do. She said they ran in to get the vet but I left. NOT TRUE!!! Thru kept telling me that are not an emergency vet. BUT THEY ARE A VET WITH A DOCTOR WHO MIGHT OF SAVES HIS LIFE. This is completely disgusting and unprofessional not to mention irresponsible. Their job is to help animals. I can’t help but think of they did what king George animal hospital did when I got the the mag still be alive. I was so irate that I may have swore and all she kept telling me is what am I supposed to do I’m just a minimum wage worker. No compassion no sympathy no sorry no nothing so I’m filing a A complaint with the vest and Erin Association this was so unprofessional and I am so devastated and traumatic be upset and I can’t imagine what his owners of feeling like right now very irresponsible very irresponsible

Love my vet! I am the "mother" of a geriatric Boston terrier so we see our Dr. Henderson more than we did in days of yore.We've been patients at the clinic for about 8 years and our Sassy, in recent times, has had some complex medical issues. If you are reading this review because you want to choose a vet, you should know that this clinic has some sort of a contract that allows them to get specialist consults at no cost to you! We've saved a bundle and a lot of running around on this score.Dr. Henderson was recommended to us and is Sassy's primary physician. She explains everything and is sensitive to costs. She educates us on options.Sass has had a couple of surgeries done by Dr. Postma.(sp) and we appreciated his post surgical calls. We had one visit to Dr Barclay (sp) about some tummy distress. I didn't considrer it any big deal so I was surprised when I received a follow up call a couple of days later to ask about the patient. So typical of this practice!

Newton Animal hospital used to be one of the best trusted and caring animal clinics in Surrey. We have spent thousands over the years we have been going there simply because it was a place that you knew would be there for your pet anytime when your loved one was in distress. Lately, though they have become nothing more than a business sending out flyers to bring your pet in for the best care anywhere. Well yes bring your loved one in when they're healthy Newton Animal Hospital provides the best in care when all that is required is a shot or health exam and $350.00, please... As well, that is as long as it is a booked appointment made days in advance... Recently our loved one became very ill and the symptomology pointed directly to a trip to a vet. It was well within 45 minutes of closing so I called explained my pet had been vomiting but this time it did not stop and she was crying and throwing up white mucus, a state of concern was now apparent. Newton Animal Hospital answered and was told to go elsewhere as the vet was busy and booked I said it was urgent I was told go elsewhere or drive all over to the other side of town with a sick pet. Newton Animal Hospital your pathetic greedy and care is no longer your mandate and you have been reported to the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia

Taken my dog here a couple of times. All horrible experiences. They pressured me into doing many tests and exams that just seemed unnecessary. When I was interested in getting my dog neutered, I requested that they call me before they think my dog will wake up. They told me that wasn't allowed and I could not go into their operating room... I thought it was really strange seeing that I just wanted my dog to wake up to me seeing that he'd be scared. So glad I stopped going to them. They just want your money. Please don't take your animals here. Bad vibes all around.

We have taken both our cat and dog here because it was recommended by my brother and his gf. We have an aggressive dog she is just a puppy but having our dog spayed was a very stressful situation for us. Newton animal hospital was beyond helpful and made the entire situation easier for us. They called with updates and accommodated me when I brought her in and place me in a separate rooms. Dealing with a reactive canine is never easy but Newton animal hospital turned something I dreaded into a manageable situation. We would recommend them to anyone and we drive father from delta to go here rather than the animal hospital closer to us!!

We have been coming to Newton Animal Hospital for over 30 years and three Persians. The doctors and staff have always been kind and courteous They even sent sympathy cards when our cats passed on There is a genuine love of animals evident in every action. The new online service is excellent. They also help carry food to the car if needed. My current cat is so relaxed there that it becomes evident that he's happy there as well.

I love this place! The staff are all so knowledgeable and friendly. I feel they really care for my dog and aren't out to make a quick buck like some other vet hospitals I've been to. We've had the opportunity of working with Dr.Prostrand the most and he's amazing. All the other vets we've had were as well. I live downtown and I definitely don't mind driving all that way to Newton!! Much love from McNulty :)

Please don't take your dog here to get their ears cropped. They completely messed up my beautiful pressa canario's ears. not just a little bit but one ear is close to 3/4 of an inch shorter than the other one. its quite noticeable. and its been three months since the surgery and we followed all the instructions. We drove for an hour to get to this hospital to have this done. when we called them to tell them they told us there is nothing that can be done about it and they refused to give us our money back for the botched ear job even though a child can see that its uneven. crooked ears and out 400.00. I will say though....the staff at reception...the ladies there are great. very nice people. But please please don't get them to do your dogs ears you will be very unhappy. not to mention my dog went down with 4 other pups from the same litter an spoke to another owner of one of the puppies that is now out of town and he said they messed up his dogs ears too one is shorter than the other...but he lives too far out to come back and complain.

Don't take your pets to this place. They don't allow clients in the "backroom" where they do procedures and we heard our cat yeowling in pain like we have never heard her before. The "doctors" are geriatric and have a very patronizing insulting manner with the clients. You can't ask them any questions because they become very defensive and then try to talk to you like your stupid. Also, they lie and try to add unnecessary tests to your bill. Very unsatisfied.

I started bringing my pup here from a recommendation of a close friend. It was the 2nd vet i visited and felt this place is far superior in terms of the quality of care and consideration of your pet. All the staff were extremely friendly and are truely pet lovers and not just someone there for the job. My pup isnt exactly the friendliest to strangers (farely protective infact) but after 1 visit, he's wagging his tail at every staff member there, I'm quite amazed. It is pretty easy to make an appointment and they're pretty reasonable in wait times, if any, for emergency drop ins. Their vet rates seem very reasonable and I was never pressured into doing a procedure or forced to purchased a product by the clinic for the sole purpose of stretching my bill. In fact, one time I even insisted the vet to sell me a product they initially felt my pup didnt really need. I have a min pin and for those ppl looking to do ear crops on their appropriate breeds of dogs, these guys are the best around in the northwest for the job! My pup's ears are show quality and have gotten endless compliments on the natural and attractive crop that's been done. I talked to a few owners who drove up from Seattle especially for the crop job here. I have since moved to a different city than Surrey with my pup but always make the 40 min drive back to newton any time he needs a checkup. This will definately be the only vet i bring my pets as long as i am in the GVRD and only recommendation I will give out to friends and family.

Taken my dog here a couple of times. All horrible experiences. They pressured me into doing many tests and exams that just seemed unnecessary. When I was interested in getting my dog neutered, I requested that they call me before they think my dog will wake up. They told me that wasn't allowed and I could not go into their operating room... I thought it was really strange seeing that I just wanted my dog to wake up to me seeing that he'd be scared. So glad I stopped going to them. They just want your money. Please don't take your animals here. Bad vibes all around.

Dr Prostran did amazing work on fixing a young pugs broken leg. It's been almost 2 years and the dog is still absolutely healthy and in great shape!

We have taken both our cat and dog here because it was recommended by my brother and his gf. We have an aggressive dog she is just a puppy but having our dog spayed was a very stressful situation for us. Newton animal hospital was beyond helpful and made the entire situation easier for us. They called with updates and accommodated me when I brought her in and place me in a separate rooms. Dealing with a reactive canine is never easy but Newton animal hospital turned something I dreaded into a manageable situation. We would recommend them to anyone and we drive father from delta to go here rather than the animal hospital closer to us!!

The doctors and staff have always been kind and courteous They even sent sympathy cards when our cats passed on There is a genuine love of animals evident in every action. The new online service is excellent. They also help carry food to the car if needed. My current cat is so relaxed there that it becomes evident that he's happy there as well.

You don't feel rushed. The veterinarian that we have seen quite a bit lately Dr. Prostran , is exceptional. He's patient, gentle, and very thorough !! When your animal gets excited about going to the vets that tells you something !! Big shout out to Cheryl who is just awesome

I love this place! The staff are all so knowledgeable and friendly. I feel they really care for my dog and aren't out to make a quick buck like some other vet hospitals I've been to. We've had the opportunity of working with Dr.Prostrand the most and he's amazing. All the other vets we've had were as well. I live downtown and I definitely don't mind driving all that way to Newton!! Much love from McNulty :)

Please don't take your dog here to get their ears cropped. They completely messed up my beautiful pressa canario's ears. not just a little bit but one ear is close to 3/4 of an inch shorter than the other one. its quite noticeable. and its been three months since the surgery and we followed all the instructions. We drove for an hour to get to this hospital to have this done. when we called them to tell them they told us there is nothing that can be done about it and they refused to give us our money back for the botched ear job even though a child can see that its uneven. crooked ears and out 400.00. I will say though....the staff at reception...the ladies there are great. very nice people. But please please don't get them to do your dogs ears you will be very unhappy. not to mention my dog went down with 4 other pups from the same litter an spoke to another owner of one of the puppies that is now out of town and he said they messed up his dogs ears too one is shorter than the other...but he lives too far out to come back and complain.

Don't take your pets to this place. They don't allow clients in the "backroom" where they do procedures and we heard our cat yeowling in pain like we have never heard her before. The "doctors" are geriatric and have a very patronizing insulting manner with the clients. You can't ask them any questions because they become very defensive and then try to talk to you like your stupid. Also, they lie and try to add unnecessary tests to your bill. Very unsatisfied.

I started bringing my pup here from a recommendation of a close friend. It was the 2nd vet i visited and felt this place is far superior in terms of the quality of care and consideration of your pet. All the staff were extremely friendly and are truely pet lovers and not just someone there for the job. My pup isnt exactly the friendliest to strangers (farely protective infact) but after 1 visit, he's wagging his tail at every staff member there, I'm quite amazed. It is pretty easy to make an appointment and they're pretty reasonable in wait times, if any, for emergency drop ins. Their vet rates seem very reasonable and I was never pressured into doing a procedure or forced to purchased a product by the clinic for the sole purpose of stretching my bill. In fact, one time I even insisted the vet to sell me a product they initially felt my pup didnt really need. I have a min pin and for those ppl looking to do ear crops on their appropriate breeds of dogs, these guys are the best around in the northwest for the job! My pup's ears are show quality and have gotten endless compliments on the natural and attractive crop that's been done. I talked to a few owners who drove up from Seattle especially for the crop job here. I have since moved to a different city than Surrey with my pup but always make the 40 min drive back to newton any time he needs a checkup. This will definately be the only vet i bring my pets as long as i am in the GVRD and only recommendation I will give out to friends and family.
