Jackie is a great groomer, especially when it comes to our Newfie cross, Odin. Not many groomers are willing to take on such a large dog (145 lbs), and few of those that do are capable of properly cleaning all the fine fur out. Jackie nails it. Then Turner hates being groomed, but he always comes out clean and happy. Docs are good too, and will answer questions without a credit card number in hand. Not to many vets do that either. We have met with both doctors and each is extremely knowledgeable, answered our questions/concerns with such patience (thank you!), and took the time to fully comprehend BraveHeart's needs. We've also had opportunities to meet several staff members who are always smiling and very helpful. The obviously have a genuine love for animals! The entire facility and all its' members (including the "Clinic Support Team" made up of adorable resident furry friends!) work together flawlessly and it shows in a positive light. Max has been cared for by the vets and groomer at South Surrey Veterinary Hospital for 6-7 years. The vets, groomers and staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, caring and generous with their time and services. It's always been a pleasure taking Max to the vet. Really great service. Been taking my dad here for exams and grooming. My dad was even cared for he decided to wonder off from our yard. He stayed there for the whole day and the vet took care of him free of charge, as we frantically looked for him. All in all great place Read Less

Dr. K and Dr. Jen are fabulous, we appreciated the care they gave our Dogs for the past 5 years. However the receptionists are terrible, It doesn't matter what day you call then they are always rude, condescending and very unprofessional.I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but literally for 5+ years she has just been rude.  It is to bad because the rest of the clinic is amazing, but first impressions can be ruined with terrible customer service at the front desk. I also work in the same field and can't believe the way the receptionist feels she can talk to people.  We recently moved away but even when I called to get our current records, she was unable to help and didn't care at all. In summer our male cat fell out of a tree. Brought him in with a bad limp. They offered to cut the cats leg off because they claimed it was beyond repair and it would never have the use of the leg again. Quote $650. Decided to bring cat home and see what happens. Guess what? A month later cat runs and walks great with no sign of injury. A month ago we brought our older cat in as she is 14 years old and was at her end. Anticipated putting her down at this visit, instead they sold my wife on the fact that they should keep her for a couple days and "hydrate her". I didn't need to be told the cats life was over, she could barely walk and was literally skin and bones, wouldn't eat and had no comprehension to her surroundings. I didn't want to say no for my wife sake ,she loved the cat. $700 later brought her home "hydrated" only to bring her back the next day to put her down for an additional $200. BEWARE this place is all about the money and not the care. You fix our cat so it lives longer than a day, yes I will pay that $700 all day long. You are a medical professional, and you knew damn well the cat was in need of having its suffering dealt with appropriately. You have a responsibility to not only the humans you get paid from but the animals entrusted to your care. Had I listened to you on the first cat we would have a 3-legged cat and out $650 for nothing. Shame on you putting false hope and advice you know is wrong when you should instead be brutally honest in the diagnosis even at the expense of not filling your pockets Read Less

I took my female black cocker Dallas to the vet. Reception was great & took info then got Dr. Jen who checked Dallas out, then injected shots as necessary. Jen was kind, did not push any unwanted care or services. She was thorough . The facility was clean and all of the staff were friendly and gave you a sense that they were there to service your pet and made you feel welcome. The best part was, the cost of the service was reasonable. So happy my daughter, Karen, mother of Maple, told me about South Surrey Veterinary Hospital & I will certainly be taking Dallas back, when it is time for further investigation or treatment. We have been seeing Dr. Kortschak for three years; she came highly recommended to us by a veterinary nurse from another clinic, she says it is the only place she takes her four-legged family members :) I now understand why. Dr. K. has always shown patience, understanding and a great deal of sincerity especially when dealing with my daughter who would love to become a vet and dotes on her cat like she is her own flesh and blood. For me, I believe, what impresses me the most, I once picked up a stray dog running on a busy street and brought it to Dr. K., they identified it, contacted the owners and kept the dog safe, at no charge to me or owners who lost their dog. We recently moved here and I researched vets in the area. South Surrey Vet Hospital had great and recent reviews so we had our dogs checked up there and was happy to see that the vets and staff are great. Both my boys needed their teeth cleaned and I'm so happy with the diligence and care the team provided, especially to my oldest that needed an extensive cleaning. Its nice to see they include things like check ups after dental cleaning as well as nail clipping with our appointments if the dogs need it. The prices are very reasonable too, in my opinion. Dr. K and Dr. Jen are exceptional vets; they are both highly competent, knowledgeable and most of all caring and show genuine interest to provide the best possible care for our canine babies Missy and Sky.  The doctors do not order unnecessary tests and always explain treatments thoroughly. I find the fees to be very reasonable for the level of care this clinic offers. The hospital itself is spotless and welcoming; all the staff are kind and considerate.  We have recently lost our 15 year old Missy; our family would be forever grateful for the loving and attentive care she received on her final days.  We especially appreciated Dr. K taking the time to spend with our family during that most difficult day.  I would highly recommend this clinic without any hesitation. As a health care professional myself, I can understand the problem of having someone show up at your doorstep and say "something is wrong , but I don't know what". Dr. K. was warm and thoughtful in her assessment of my Rotti- Boxer mix and warm and thoughtful with me I truly appreciate the care given during my initial visit and the F/U appointment. I am a life long animal lover.  Always have had dogs, cats, horses.  I am very fussy as my animals are part of our family.  I seek competence, kindness, common sense in my vets.  You will find all of that at the South Surrey Veterinary Hospital.  Two absolutely wonderful vets practice there--the owner Dr. K and Dr. Jenn.  They both love animals and it shows.  The staff are marvelous as well.  You won't go wrong taking your pets to these wonderful women who laugh and love the animals to pieces.  They also charge fair prices and don't run up your bill needlessly with expensive tests before treating the symptoms they see first.  Sure if the treatment isn't the answer then the tests will follow, but they try to keep the costs down when they can.  Best vets in the Lower Mainland is my opinion. Dr. K is the best vet we've ever had, hands down by a long shot. Our old family dog, Spyro, saw many different vets because she was elderly and suffering from breathing issues and having trouble eating. None of the vets we worked with could figure out what the problem was, despite seeing many different vets, including specialists and getting many rounds of expensive tests and different  medications. After teams of doctors and after months of treatment attempts, she was still suffering. With no clear diagnosis nor effective treatment, we kept searching for a vet that could figure this out. When we took Spyro to Dr. K, we finally found a vet who had a very keen talent for diagnostic medicine and she was able to quickly get to the root of the issue and actually address the illness. We were blown away by her. In fact, Dr. K's very first hypothesis from the initial review was confirmed after tests. Amazing given all the other vets, including the high priced specialists, were always just scratching their heads and basically shrugging their shoulders at that point.Dr. K always seemed to legitimately care about our dog's well-being; and she clearly takes her medical practice very seriously. We've been seeing her for years now, even after moving to Richmond (despite the commute). She really is as good as it gets. Read Less

Our little girl has a condition called IMHA, where her immune system attacks her red blood cells, without Dr. K and the South surrey vet staff's quick detection, action and dedication she would not be here today.
